The Extreme Alchemist of the Mighty Cauldron

Chapter 1556: 1654: Self-Inflicted

Chapter 1556: Chapter 1654: Self-Inflicted

Liang Zhiyin’s eyes widened in shock as she stared at Lin Qishuang, clearly not expecting her own sinister move to fail in subduing Lin Qishuang.

Lin Qishuang looked indifferently at Liang Zhiyin and withdrew her hand from Liang Zhiyin’s chest, revealing a still-beating, fresh red heart in her grasp.

Liang Zhiyin’s heart had been extracted by Lin Qishuang!

This scene greatly shocked everyone in Heavenly Fragrance Valley, and the younger female disciples turned pale, completely unable to believe what they were witnessing.

“Sister Liang, may you rest in peace on your journey. I will take good care of Heavenly Fragrance Valley for you,” Lin Qishuang said expressionlessly, and then suddenly exerted force in her hand, crushing the heart into pieces.

Liang Zhiyin glared at Lin Qishuang, reaching out to grasp her, but only managed a futile twitch of her hand before her body slumped powerlessly to the ground.

“Valley Master!”

The people of Heavenly Fragrance Valley quickly gathered around, each one wailing in grief, with many of the women openly expressing their pain.

Liang Zhiyin was dead!

Without any surprises, Liang Zhiyin ultimately died at the hands of Lin Qishuang, ending the centuries-old feud of Heavenly Fragrance Valley.

If it weren’t for Lin Qishuang’s intervention, Liang Zhiyin might have managed to survive for about another year, but sadly this was all destined. The evil seeds sown in past years had finally borne bitter fruit today, retribution had come upon Liang Zhiyin herself; she had only herself to blame for her past deeds.

After killing Liang Zhiyin, Lin Qishuang felt surprisingly calm, as if she had done something very trivial.

“Sister, you have finally died by my hand. I’ve waited so many years for this moment, yet you died so easily. I’m a bit unsatisfied, little sister,” Lin Qishuang suddenly laughed, her laugh eerily bewitching. She looked at her right hand smeared with Liang Zhiyin’s blood and licked it with her tongue.

“Your blood is really both stale and bitter,” Lin Qishuang said with disgust, turning her gaze towards the second-generation disciples like Lu Wenjin and Shen Xingzhu.

“Lin Qishuang, you’ve already killed the Valley Master, what more do you want?” Shen Xingzhu was highly perceptive, noticing Lin Qishuang’s unfriendly expression, and she spoke out to reprimand her.

Lin Qishuang smiled faintly: “All of you are Sister’s disciples, I think it would be more appropriate to send you off to meet her.”

Upon hearing this, the expressions of the second-generation disciples changed dramatically, and they watched Lin Qishuang with utmost vigilance.

Mei Yingxue and Zhao Tingfang also stood by Shen Xingzhu and the others, obviously ready to confront Lin Qishuang together.

“Even Liang Zhiyin wasn’t my match, what can you juniors do against me?” Lin Qishuang said with a look of scorn, taking a few steps forward.

“Enough.”

Just then, a reprimanding shout from Fang Lin directly appeared in front of Lin Qishuang, blocking her path.

Lin Qishuang’s eyebrows furrowed as she coldly asked, “Who are you?”

Fang Lin turned back to look at Liang Zhiyin, who had already breathed her last, and shook his head: “I am simply a guest visiting Heavenly Fragrance Valley.”

“Hah, if you don’t want to die, then roll aside,” Lin Qishuang said very impolitely.

Fang Lin looked at Lin Qishuang: “You’ve already killed Liang Zhiyin, and thereby settled your grudge. Do you really want to completely annihilate Heavenly Fragrance Valley?”

“So what if I annihilate them all? Since you’ve decided to court death, I can’t be blamed,” Lin Qishuang had no patience to waste words with Fang Lin, and she directly struck at Fang Lin’s face with her palm.

Fang Lin narrowed his eyes slightly, not moving an inch, as he released the oppressive aura of his Minor Longevity realm.

Lin Qishuang felt like she had been struck by a heavy blow, her face changing instantly as she stumbled backwards in shock, unbelievingly staring at Fang Lin.

“Minor Longevity?” Lin Qishuang, after all, was a Spirit Source master who had seen much of the world over the years. Feeling the aura from Fang Lin, she instantly deduced his level of cultivation.

A sense of heaviness and confusion began to weigh on Lin Qishuang’s heart. This young man before her possessed the cultivation of the Minor Longevity realm, yet he did not intervene in her fight with Liang Zhiyin, which she found quite odd.

However, Lin Qishuang was now contemplating how to make her escape. She knew very well the terror of a master from the Longevity realm, and that she, a mere junior Spirit Source martial artist, could not contend with it.

“So it turns out to be a senior from the Longevity realm, my disrespect,” Lin Qishuang bowed with clasped fists to Fang Lin, devoid of her previous arrogance and murderous intent, her face full of cautiousness.

Fang Lin said, “I have no intention of meddling in your past grudges with Heavenly Fragrance Valley, but since you have already killed Liang Zhiyin and previously stated you would not trouble other members of Heavenly Fragrance Valley, it would be best if you ceased your pursuit.”

Lin Qishuang felt unwilling, as she had intended to kill several of Liang Zhiyin’s direct disciples, to completely erase Liang Zhiyin’s traces from Heavenly Fragrance Valley.

However, the appearance of this young man had made her abandon such thoughts entirely.

“If the senior says so, I dare not disobey,” Lin Qishuang said with her head lowered, understanding the ways of the world better than any naive newcomer. Having wandered through the Nine Countries after being expelled from Heavenly Fragrance Valley, she had suffered much and knew all too well the importance of subtlety and compliance.

Face to face with a master of the Minor Longevity realm, Lin Qishuang had no reason to be confrontational.

“I implore Master Fang to avenge our Valley Master!” a second-generation disciple from Heavenly Fragrance Valley suddenly kneeled before Fang Lin.

Fang Lin’s brows furrowed, and Lin Qishuang’s heart skipped a beat at the sight.

Shen Xingzhu glared fiercely at the second-generation disciple, then turned to look at Fang Lin, and seeing no anger on his face, she slightly relaxed.

Fang Lin looked at Shen Xingzhu and the others, then at Mei Yingxue and Zhao Tingfang, and said, “I am not a member of Heavenly Fragrance Valley, and this is a feud your Valley Master sowed in her past. I should not interfere, and neither should you.”

“But she killed the Valley Master…” the second-generation disciple persisted unwillingly.

Fang Lin’s tone grew stern: “If Liang Zhiyin had killed Lin Qishuang back in the day, today’s events wouldn’t have come to pass. Now that she has been slain by Lin Qishuang, no one else is to blame. She brought it upon herself.”

The second-generation disciple turned pale, daring not to say another word.

Lin Qishuang, too, breathed a sigh of relief; thankfully this senior from the Longevity realm was not the type to aggressively assert himself, otherwise today she feared she would have been in dire straits.

Lin Qishuang looked at Fang Lin and probed tentatively, “May I ask for the distinguished senior’s name?”

“Fang Lin.” Fang Lin didn’t conceal it, revealing his name outright.

Hearing this, Lin Qishuang’s eyes showed even greater shock. The name Fang Lin was as thunderous as it gets, known throughout the Nine Countries; who wouldn’t recognize it?

Now knowing it was Fang Lin, Lin Qishuang was even less inclined to entertain any rash thoughts. The man before her was a maverick who would dare to defiantly clash with even the four Heaven Kings when riled up.

“Lin Qishuang, do you still remember Zhong Wuwei?” Fang Lin suddenly asked.
