Chapter 1392 1490 Nonsensical Talk

Chapter 1392: Chapter 1490: Nonsensical Talk Chapter 1392: Chapter 1490: Nonsensical Talk Within the grand hall of Ancient Pill Court, Fang Lin strode in with a composed demeanor, observing the three Heaven Kings seated at the head of the room.

The South Zodiac King sat in the center, with the North Spirit King and the Western Moon King occupying the seats on either side, each bearing a different expression.

“North Town Hall Master Fang Lin pays respect to the three Heaven Kings,” Fang Lin said, bowing slightly with a cupped-hand salute.

“Fang Lin, you’ve returned,” the South Zodiac King said, his face revealing a faint smile.

Fang Lin was not in the mood for pleasantries and went straight to the point, asking, “Heaven Kings, what exactly happened in Qian Country?”

At these words, the South Zodiac King sighed and responded, “Hidden Kill Hall made its move against Qian Country. By the time the rescue forces arrived, Qian Country had already fallen.”

Upon hearing this, Fang Lin thought to himself that it was indeed the work of Hidden Kill Hall that led to the downfall of Qian Country.

Fang Lin nodded and then inquired, “Do we have any information on the whereabouts of the people from the Purple Mist Sect? I saw not a single body of theirs at the Purple Mist Sect.”

The South Zodiac King replied, “We have dispatched people to search, but there’s no news of anyone from the Purple Mist Sect just yet. However, the absence of bodies suggests that the people of the Purple Mist Sect are likely still alive, so there is no need for excessive worry.”

“Fang Lin, I ask you, where are the Pill Alliance experts who accompanied you to Qian Country now?” the Western Moon King suddenly interjected, his tone carrying a hint of accusation.

Both the South Zodiac King and the North Spirit King cast a glance at the Western Moon King, the latter maintaining an expressionless countenance, appearing utterly indifferent, while the former furrowed his brows slightly, showing signs of displeasure.

Fang Lin remained expressionless, “Including Zhou Meng, all are dead.”

“How did they die? They were people you took with you, so how come you’re still alive?” the Western Moon King pressed further, his slender eyes fixing on Fang Lin, exerting significant pressure.

“Are you suggesting that I, too, should not have returned alive?” Fang Lin responded with indifference.

“You must provide an explanation for how Zhou Meng and the others died, or you cannot escape responsibility!” the Western Moon King declared, his intentions quite clear.

Fang Lin laughed, his gaze mocking as he looked at the Western Moon King, “They are dead, that is all. If the Heaven King wishes to condemn me for this, then I, Fang Lin, am not one to submit meekly.”

These words were nothing less than a direct challenge, not playing any games – a clear warning to the Western Moon King that if he sought to target me, expect no courtesy in return.

As expected, once Fang Lin spoke these words, a jolt went through the hearts of the three Heaven Kings, especially the Western Moon King, whose face darkened immediately.

“Audacious Fang Lin! You dare to behave so lawlessly. With such a heavy burden of guilt upon you, and yet still oblivious? It seems necessary to thoroughly suppress you, to teach you that the Pill Alliance is not a place where you can act recklessly,” the Western Moon King thundered, his aura flaring up, while outside the hall, three figures appeared silently. These three individuals exuded powerful auras; clearly, they were amongst the strongest in Spirit Source, each one locking their energy onto Fang Lin, ready to capture him at a moment’s notice.

Fang Lin glanced outside the grand hall at the three men, then back at the austere Western Moon King, his face showing deep disdain.

“If I wanted to leave, could you truly stop me, Mother?” Fang Lin said.

“Stand down,” the South Zodiac King ordered, turning away the three men outside the hall.

“Western Moon, restrain yourself as well,” the South Zodiac King cautioned.

“Hmph, such an utterly unscrupulous person should have been punished long ago. There can be no indulgence,” the Western Moon King declared, his eyes fixed on Fang Lin.

Fang Lin was still smiling, taking the Western Moon King’s words lightly, for with the power he currently held, he indeed had no need to fear the Western Moon King.

“Fang Lin, where have you been these past few months?” the hitherto silent North Spirit King suddenly asked.

Fang Lin glanced at the North Spirit King and answered, “I was in a mystical realm within the Forest of Mist in Qian Country, which the Heaven Kings are probably aware of. Besides, didn’t the Pill Alliance also send people in?”

The South Zodiac King and the North Spirit King exchanged looks before both turned their gaze towards the Western Moon King.

Indeed, the Pill Alliance had sent people into the Forest of Mist, but it was the Western Moon King who had arranged it, without the South Zodiac King and the North Spirit King sending anyone.

“Then, did you find anything in the Forest of Mist?” the South Zodiac King inquired.

Fang Lin grinned, “I found nothing. Just escaping with my life was enough to leave me in a sorry state. As for gains, my Cultivation improved somewhat, if that can be called a gain.”

“You’re lying! I suspect you killed the people we sent and took the treasures of the Forest of Mist for yourself!” the Western Moon King slammed the table and exclaimed loudly.

Fang Lin spread his hands, “Your Highness, please, baseless accusations shouldn’t be made so recklessly.”

“Then tell us, who did you encounter in the Forest of Mist? What happened there? Could you elaborate?” the South Zodiac King asked.

Fang Lin remained silent, saying nothing.

“What’s the matter? Are there unspeakable secrets, or are you yet to figure out what to say?” the Western Moon King sneered.

Fang Lin looked at the three Heaven Kings and waved his hand, causing the Demon Puppet to stand by his side.

At the appearance of the Demon Puppet, all three Heaven Kings altered their expressions, fearing Fang Lin was about to resort to violence without further discussion.

“I have a question, and I hope the three of you can answer it,” Fang Lin stated calmly.

The Western Moon King’s expression soured, “Are you threatening us with the emergence of the Dragon Family Demon?”

Fang Lin shook his head, “It’s merely that my words carry little weight; I feared you would not deign to answer, so I had no choice but to do this. If the Heaven Kings will answer a few of my questions, then this puppet will cause no harm.”

“Fang Lin, ask whatever you wish to know,” the South Zodiac King spoke, maintaining a relatively calm tone.

Fang Lin wasted no time, “When I was imprisoned in the Extreme North Land, I encountered a creature that seemed to be a fusion of human and Demon Beast. Why does the Pill Alliance possess such a creature?”

Upon hearing Fang Lin’s question, all three Heaven Kings had a sinking feeling, particularly the South Zodiac King and the North Spirit King, who looked visibly troubled.

But the Western Moon King was shrouded in murderous intent, evidently wanting to kill Fang Lin on the spot.

Fang Lin, observing the Heaven Kings’ expressions, smiled, “Are the Heaven Kings unwilling to answer?”

“In the Pill Alliance, there is no such creature as you described,” the South Zodiac King stated evenly.

Fang Lin’s face was mocking, “I’ve also heard some whispers that the Pill Alliance has an unspeakable connection with Hidden Kill Hall in secret.”

The hall fell deathly quiet. Following Fang Lin’s remark, all three Heaven Kings sank into silence.

Then, the South Zodiac King broke the silence, “These are mere rumors, nothing credible. The Pill Alliance has no relation with Hidden Kill Hall; we have always been adversaries. Do not believe such groundless speculation.”

“Is it just groundless speculation?” Fang Lin asked lightly.
