Chapter 165 - showing around to luna

We finally arrived home, and I got off the carriage. Luna followed me.

Then I heard Amy say,

"Gray, show Luna around our home."

I nodded and looked at Luna.

"Come with me. I’ll show you everything there is to see."

"I’ll be the best guide you could possibly ask for. I know many secret spots for slacking off."

Luna laughed and nodded.

"Okay. I’ll follow you. Let’s see your secret spots."

I nodded and went inside.

All the maids and other staff greeted me with genuine affection.

Then one maid asked,

"Young Master Gray, who is this, if you don’t mind me asking?"

"She is so pretty."

I smiled at that and was about to introduce her, but she stepped forward and introduced herself.

"I’m his fiancée. My name is Luna von Valtherion."

The maid expected her to be my fiancée or a close friend, but she certainly didn’t expect her to be royalty.

She immediately bowed her head and greeted Luna as the princess.

Luna simply nodded gracefully.

"No need for such formality."

The maid nodded respectfully.

I looked at Luna and signaled for her to come with me.

She nodded, and we continued walking.

As we passed by, I could hear the other maids whispering about it, but I didn’t care.

I knew they were good people. I had lived here all my life, so I could tell if someone had bad intentions.

I asked Luna,

"So, where do you want to see first?"

She thought for a moment and asked,

"How about we start with your room? I’m curious."

I almost stumbled.

"My room...?!"

She blinked innocently.

"Yes. Is there a problem?"

My eyes twitched, but I nodded.

"No, absolutely not. Let’s go."

I walked toward my room, and I could hear her pleasant laughter from behind me. She covered her mouth to stop herself, but I still caught it.

I just gave up.

If I said anything, I’d become the victim of her mockery.

She’s far too sinister to face head-on. I have to be careful.

She looked at me and asked in a calm tone,

"Are you making stuff about me in your head?"

I subconsciously answered,

"Ah, yeah. I was just thinking about how sinister you a—"

I immediately closed my mouth.

I looked at her and saw her looking at me with a half-smile.

"Oh, really? I’m in your mind, and I’m so sinister, right? So how about we make it real?"

She looked at me fiercely.

I gulped.

"Oh, no, no. I was thinking about a different person. Not you. How could an evil princess like you be—"

I paused.

"Ah, my bad. A princess like you could never be bad."

A black line appeared on her forehead.

"Gray..."

I nodded and smiled at her.

"Yes, Luna? What can I do for you?"

Her eyes twitched.

Then she came closer.

I began to speed up my pace.

Then she said,

"Why are you running? Come closer, Gray. I have something for you."

I looked at her evil smile and decided to keep my distance for my own safety.

Then I reached my room.

I waited for Luna to follow me and asked,

"So, this is your room?"

I nodded, opened the door, and we entered.

Luna looked around.

The room had a dark finish, game consoles, a bookshelf filled with magic books, and many of the daily items I used.

Luna observed everything and looked around curiously.

"So, this is your room, huh?"

"It’s more organized and clean than I thought. It must be the maids."

A black line appeared on my forehead.

"Hey, this is my room. I won’t let others move things around in here. This is my personal space."

She chuckled and asked,

"Oh, really? It’s surprising that a lazy person like you knows how to keep a room clean."

"Hey, this is my personal space. Of course I won’t let it get dirty. If my room is messy, how am I supposed to laze around? My eyes always go toward things that aren’t clean, and it irritates me."

She nodded and walked around my room, looking at everything.

She opened the closet and saw many dresses that were too small for me now.

She pointed at them, so I explained,

"That’s Amy’s work. Whenever we went shopping, she ended up buying more than ten sets of clothes for me. It’s been two years, so they got too small for me."

She nodded.

"Hmm, I can see that."

Then she looked around a little more.

I brought her to the garden and showed her a spot where sunlight came through beautifully and the lawn was excellent.

I pointed at the spot.

"This is the place I come to slack off. It’s a good spot to sleep."

She looked at the place, and even she felt the urge to sleep there.

A gentle breeze hit us.

I felt like sleeping too, but I immediately shook my head.

Main objective is showing her around.

Then I continued showing her the rest of the garden.

She also took an interest in seeing everything.

I made a few jokes along the way to entertain her, and she had the nerve to say she didn’t find my jokes entertaining but found me entertaining because of how foolish I looked.

I glared at her.

She chuckled again.

Then we went to the training ground, with Luna following me while continuing to make fun of me.

When we entered the training grounds, I took two wooden swords and gave one to her.

"Do you want to see something cool?"

She nodded, her eyes lighting up.

I held up my sword and covered it with a Space Barrier, just like the one around my body.

Then I told her,

"Luna, attack my sword and try to break it."

She looked confused but nodded.

She used her strength and attacked my sword.

I didn’t do anything. I simply held my sword straight.

As soon as her sword hit mine with all her strength, it broke.

She had used only her physical strength. If she had used her Aura, it might have been different, but she couldn’t perceive the Space Barrier.

I grinned at that.

Her eyes widened slightly.

"How did you do that? Did you augment your sword with Mana or Aura?"

Then she shook her head.

"No, that can’t be. If you did, I could see it. What did you do?"

I explained,

"It’s Space Manipulation. You can think of it like a barrier."

Then I created another small Space Barrier and let go of the sword.

The sword floated in the air.

Luna looked at it with fascination and tried to touch it. She felt the Space Barrier I had created.

Her eyes lit up immediately.

"That’s amazing! Can you walk through the air with that?"

I nodded.

I created several small Space Barriers, made them solid, and stepped on them.

Then I extended a hand toward her.

"Try walking in the air."

She looked at me in confusion, but then she understood.

She truly trusted me, so without hesitation, she took a step into the air.

I got an evil idea to make her fall, but seeing her expectant eyes and joy, even if someone put a sword to my throat, I wouldn’t do it.

I used my Perception to the maximum and made sure every step she took had a foothold.

She walked through the air, her face filled with happiness and smiles.

I watched her.

After she tried it for a few moments, she came back down.

She immediately came over to me and said,

"That’s so awesome!"

"That’s not fair! I want to walk in the air too with my own power."

I smiled and said,

"It’s not impossible. I think after we grow stronger, we can augment ourselves with Aura and fly. So walking on air won’t be a problem at all."

She remembered that, and her eyes lit up like twin blue stars.

But then they dimmed slightly.

I watched the whole change.

I almost felt like crying because of her mood change. Her face had lit up like the sun, then suddenly dimmed, and a little sadness flashed through it.

I immediately asked,

"What’s wrong, Luna?"

She said,

"For that, I have to wait a long time. What if I lose interest in it by then?"

Her mood was low.

I brainstormed, trying to think of an idea for her to fly.

It didn’t matter how. I needed to find a method, but it couldn’t be an item.

Mom had told me not to rely on items. They only make us weaker versions of ourselves.

If we created something from an item or used it to intensify our existing power, that was fine. But something like flying wasn’t good. We’d get used to relying on the item instead of figuring out how to do it ourselves.

Then I remembered something.

An idea came to me.

I looked at her and said,

"I got it. I know a way."

Her eyes lit up with that same intensity, and she waited for my solution.
