The Extinction Healer of the Beast Husbands
Chapter 72: Ch 72. It’ll Be Our Turn Later
Selena closed her eyes contentedly as Vee combed her hair after her shower. She felt tired and was still sleepy from last night’s lovemaking; to be honest, she hadn’t expected it to be this exhausting, which was why her body was now in shock.
But now she didn’t want to sleep; there were a few things she had to take care of, including her two bodyguards, Kav and Kev, who, as she recalled, weren’t doing well either after fighting that shadowy figure.
"Your Majesty, how about eating in your room? I’ll bring your breakfast here, so you can rest afterward," Vee said when she saw Selena close her eyes.
Selena shook her head gently. "I still won’t be able to rest even if I eat here. I want to check on Kav and Kev—I heard they were injured, so I want to treat them," she said calmly, making Vee smile.
"I can bring them here too. Please take care of yourself first, Your Majesty. I don’t want you to get sick again—your condition was very serious yesterday, and it panicked everyone who knew about it. Kav and Kev are fine; their injuries aren’t that bad because, before we returned, the Eagle military troops you summoned gave them a boost of energy," she said, causing Selena to open her eyes.
"Ah, right. Where’s that plaque? After I finished summoning them, I fainted—did I accidentally throw it away?"
Vee shook her head, set down the comb, and walked over to the desk. "I kept it while you were unconscious. Luckily, I managed to grab it while you were out; otherwise, this thing might have been lost," she said as she pulled the flat object out of the desk drawer.
Selena breathed a sigh of relief, accepted the plaque, and placed it against her chest with gratitude.
"Thank goodness they were there. Thank goodness Young Master Hawksen had given this to me. Otherwise, I might have died that night and wouldn’t have been able to protect you all. It’s hard to imagine asking for help for my five husbands, but with this, at least I’m still safe," said Selena, smiling as she gazed at the plaque in her hand.
Vee smiled too, as she fastened several pieces of jewelry onto Selena’s body, along with a small crown.
"Young Master is an experienced man who has traveled throughout Eldoria quite often, Your Majesty. So it’s only natural that he knows what you’ll need while you’re Queen here. The Young Master is also very kind; he’s someone who knows how to repay kindness and has never been arrogant toward others. Perhaps that’s why the Gods still bless his life, even though he’s been poisoned since childhood," said Vee, causing Selena to sigh.
"Fortunately, I’ve already given him some potions to drink; as long as he takes them regularly and finishes them, he’ll recover. But after this, I’ll find a way to repay him—he saved my life, and I owe him my gratitude," said Selena, then stood up once her makeup was finished.
Vee helped Selena walk because the woman still didn’t seem very comfortable on her feet. Vee didn’t need to ask to know what had happened during such a wild night—she’d seen for herself how Selena had stayed up late and was also extremely exhausted.
Everything was clear enough, and Vee certainly knew to respect her privacy—especially since this woman was the Beast Queen.
"So where are Kav and Kev? After they eat, please ask them to come to the room where I prepare my remedies; I want to examine them in person," Selena said, causing Vee to nod.
"Yes, Your Majesty. Right now they’re probably at the training arena behind the palace. Ever since you were attacked yesterday and were unconscious for two days, they’ve felt guilty every single day. They feel they aren’t strong enough and can’t be relied on, so they’ve been training nonstop to get stronger—so that nothing will happen to you if something does occur," said Vee, placing her hands on Selena’s waist and shoulders.
"They shouldn’t blame themselves or punish themselves. Yesterday’s attack was completely unexpected, and the enemy was stronger than us. Unfortunately, I had already lost my energy and strength at that time; otherwise, I might have been able to defeat them," said Selena, making Vee smile reassuringly.
"No, Your Majesty. The system is so strictly defined that even they are still trainee guards at Young Master Hawksen’s training arena. If they fail to protect someone or fail to carry out a mission, they are required to punish themselves by raising their skill level."
"That’s because there will always be powerful people in the world; defeating one powerful person doesn’t mean your enemies are gone. New strong individuals will emerge and challenge them, which is why the guards there must be trained to be formidable. So they really do have to be more careful—especially since they’re your guards," said Vee, causing Selena to nod in understanding.
Being a guard turned out to be more complicated here in Eldoria; there were extremely high standards to meet, and that suddenly made Selena feel uneasy. But everything comes with risks, so Selena didn’t want to make a fuss.
Upon reaching the dining table, Stoner quickly pulled out a chair for Selena. The man’s face was beaming, while her four other husbands began to grow curious about Selena’s condition.
"Are you feeling better, Selena? Judging by the way you’re walking, do you have enough life energy?" asked John with a curious expression.
It wasn’t just him—her three other husbands were also curious, except for Stoner, who sat calmly, watching Selena.
"So far, it’s been good enough. It only took two rounds of lovemaking to heal. Now, I’m starting to feel better," said Selena Gomez, and they all smiled with relief.
After that, they began scrambling to offer Selena food. Selena smiled at her husbands’ childish antics, but she accepted everything and devoured the meals they’d prepared for her with gusto.
Selena also felt at ease because none of them asked about her night with Stoner. They respected her privacy—after all, they were educated people, even if their behavior was truly annoying.
"Get some rest after this, Queen. You don’t have to push yourself to do it with us tonight—you might crash again," said Dorven, causing Selena, who had just finished her meal, to look up.
"Huh?"
Her four husbands nodded in agreement, since they also didn’t want Selena to relapse—so it would be better if she didn’t have sex with any of them right away that night.
"We can’t just play around for a little while; that’s the Beast King’s habit. You know, we have insane stamina. We don’t want to torture you—who’s just recovered—with sex these past few nights," Dorven explained more clearly.
"So it’s better if you take your time to heal and get some rest; we can wait for our turn later. We’d much rather see you healthy and well than have sex."
"It’s not that we don’t want to make love to you—no. We’re really looking forward to it, but we’re also more concerned about how you’re doing. You know who’s number two among us—you just need to ask him if he needs to pee. Something like that. Once you’re feeling better, we’ll be friends again," Stevan chimed in.
Selena looked at Jhon, who was already smiling and nodding calmly.
"Get some rest; I’m fine. I’ll wait patiently until Selena gets better and can ask me to do it," said Jhon, making Selena smile.
"All right, thank you for your concern," Selena said, looking at them gently. "But I owe you one—I won’t run away from this again because you can fully recover by making love to me. I’ll be ready again by the night after tomorrow at the latest. Today, after checking on Kav and Kev, I’m going to rest."
They all nodded in agreement, while Stoner was already smiling beside her. Selena didn’t want to ruin the moment by bringing up their plans—whether they intended to divorce her or not.
So she simply remained silent and leaned back calmly, watching her husbands, who looked very relaxed and quite close to one another.
After breakfast, they invited Selena to gather with them in the family room. Starting with Stevan, Jhon, Stoner, Vylen, and Dorven, they each gave her a gift. Some were gifts in recognition of her service, and others were gifts to celebrate their happiness that Selena had woken up.
This made Selena smile as she gazed at the pile of precious items in the chest given to her by her five husbands. Here, aside from the fact that they wanted to behead her, Selena knew this place was very comfortable and that life was enjoyable with them—people who no longer trampled on her self-respect.
But Selena also knew that this world couldn’t exist without love, which is why she would step back if any one of them decided to part ways.
After the gifts were distributed, they finally returned to their work. Each of them left the family room.
But in the end, Stoner still managed to approach her and smile gently.
"Take good care of yourself; don’t let anything bad happen to you again," the man said, then gently kissed Selena’s lips, lingering for a moment, smiling, and turning to walk away.
Selena’s face flushed as she touched her lips, still feeling the remnants of Stoner’s saliva and the lingering sensation of pleasure from his brief kiss.
"Damn..."
