The Extinction Healer of the Beast Husbands

Chapter 64: Ch 64. Stevan’s Muscular Body

  • Next Chapter

Selena touched Stevan’s skin, which had hardened but not to the point of turning to stone. The man was unconscious when he was brought back to this palace; according to Brok’s explanation, Stevan had been fine at first, but because he’d used the Dragon Core quite extensively, he’d fainted like this.

"Don’t you guys have any abilities? Why does the king have to be the one to fight the traitor in your story?" Selena asked, staring at Brok, who immediately grimaced slightly.

"The king kidnapped the Green Traitor’s family, Your Majesty. But the king didn’t torture them—he simply persuaded them to cooperate so they could be used as hostages. The Green Traitor had also agreed to exchange his wife and children for the Dragon clan’s territory that he had once occupied illegally, but as soon as the King met him to sign the agreement, he suddenly attacked the King.

"We were forbidden from intervening, so the King could only take the potion you provided. After that, they fought for quite a while; the King managed to defeat him, and he had already surrendered, but the King’s condition worsened. We also had to spend one night at the Dragon Palace; it wasn’t until today that we could return after seeing the King’s condition deteriorate further," said Brok, bowing his head in guilt.

Selena sighed, realizing that problems within the royal realm would indeed be far more terrifying. Jhon and Stoner faced similar problems; there were always those who wanted to betray them and stage a coup against their leadership.

Now Stevan was also experiencing the same thing: a power struggle. As for her husband’s problem—which Selena was still unaware of—it involved Dorven; that man was quite calm and minded his own business.

As a Lion, he is the King of the Jungle. Selena isn’t sure if she has enemies as bad as these three husbands—or even worse. Selena is still trying to resolve their problems one by one, but there’s always something that makes it difficult for her to manage her time.

Take Stevan, for example: he suddenly fainted and needs extra attention because his condition is also worsening. Like it or not, Selena had to treat him so he could recover; that way, it would be easier for her to handle other matters.

"He’s not in critical condition—it’s just that he can barely move because his skin has almost turned to stone. Keep a close watch on him while I go prepare the medicine," said Selena before standing up and walking away.

"Yes, Your Majesty." Brok saluted as he watched Selena leave.

Afterward, he looked at Stevan and sighed. "It’s fortunate that the Queen is willing to treat you, Your Majesty. Otherwise, you would leave us without an heir; if you died without an heir, the Dragon Clan’s territory would surely fall into chaos. It’s not certain that the Eldoria Court could control it as well as you do," he said as he adjusted Stevan’s blanket.

Glancing at the pile of precious treasures Stevan had prepared for Selena, Brok didn’t want to hand them over right away. He would wait for Stevan to wake up so he could give them to Selena himself.

"Hopefully, everything will be settled after this. I’ll take care of everything you ordered before you lost consciousness."

"Can the Dragon King recover, Your Majesty?" asked Vee as she helped Selena prepare some medicinal ingredients.

"Yes, once he’s recovered a bit more, we’ll head to the border to check on the foxes that were turned into monsters. It’s not good to leave them in an unstable state for too long; I’m afraid they might spiral out of control. That could create a whole new problem," said Selena as she began preparing the potion.

She drew upon the intuition she gained through her vision as a Healer of Extinction. Mixing all the ingredients and grinding them together before combining them with green bee honey, Selena gradually found that the potion she was making had a gel-like texture.

Selena tested the potion on her skin; it felt hot for a moment and then the sensation faded. But there was no excessive pain when it touched her skin—after all, this couldn’t possibly be compared to the sensation of touching Selena’s perfectly healthy hand.

"Your Majesty, here is the stone you requested." Vee politely placed the black stone, whose surface felt increasingly hard.

Selena looked at the stone for a few moments, then, using a brush, she began applying the potion she had just made. Before long, the fairly hard stone began to move, and its surface eroded into dust.

It all happened so quickly that Selena had to check again. The result was the same, which made Selena smile broadly.

"It turns out I can make medicinal potions from natural plants found around here. That potion was effective—please ask Xoruc Dee to plant and cultivate the ingredients you gave me today," she ordered her personal messenger.

"Yes, Your Majesty."

Meanwhile, Selena was already strolling leisurely toward the Dragon King’s palace. At first, she had wanted to send her servant instead, but Selena ultimately went herself, accompanied by Vee and Kav Kev, who kept watch from a distance.

"Apply this ointment to the hardened areas of Stevan’s body," Selena said as she handed the ointment to Brok. "Don’t use too much, but don’t use too little either. For areas that aren’t too severe, use just the tip of your fingernail on each side. But if the stiffness is as hard as stone—like on his back—apply more to maximize the effect."

Brok shook his head hesitantly. "Your Majesty, there’s a rule the King established quite some time ago. The King strongly dislikes anyone else undressing him, even if it’s just for medical treatment," Brok said, causing Selena to furrow her brow.

"But you are his wife; you’re also an Extinction Healer and understand this best. The rule the King made won’t mean a thing if you’re the one doing it. So it’s best if you’re the one to apply the ointment to both sides of his body, Your Majesty. For the greater good, I also don’t want the King to hate me for having touched or undressed him," Brok said, causing Selena to snort.

"Your reasoning makes no sense at all. He’s unconscious, too—he won’t be able to do anything for the next few days. Why are you afraid? If he gets angry at you, just tell him it’s my order," Selena said firmly, but Brok immediately shook his head.

"Your Majesty, I truly don’t dare to do that. I’ve been the King’s personal guard and closest confidant for hundreds of years, but I’ve never done this before. Please understand—I truly don’t dare," said Brok, this time even dropping to his knees.

Selena let out a heavy sigh, then looked at Stevan, who looked pitiful. If she left him be, he could die as his body grew stiffer with each passing moment.

But undressing him to apply this ointment? Selena had truly never even considered that before.

"Your Majesty, I beg you, not me. The Dragon King’s sacred body has never been touched by just anyone. He might fly into a rage, and I’m not prepared to face his wrath." Brok whined again when he saw Selena remained silent.

"Enough already. It’s just undressing him and treating him, right? It’s no big deal—undress him!" Selena ordered firmly.

It wasn’t as if she’d never done this before; back in the day, Selena had often undressed that damn Jack. So this was no different—it was just a matter of the difference between the human race and the Beast race.

But it didn’t matter; they were both men!

"Your Majesty, perhaps you should undress him yourself," Brok said, bowing politely. "I cannot assist you with this either—not only am I forbidden from undressing the king, but I’m also forbidden from seeing his body. No one is allowed to, so I’ll step out and fetch your servant."

Selena clicked her tongue at his words, which seemed to grow fainter and fainter. Soon, she heard the sound of the door being shut tightly behind them, and she let out a heavy sigh.

Selena stared at Stevan’s pitifully limp body. Then she walked slowly toward Steven’s bed and prepared to tend to him.

The enormous dragon that had transformed yesterday now lay helpless on his bed. He didn’t look like a dragon king in this sleeping or unconscious state; instead, he looked like a little child in need of his mother’s help.

"Tsk, fierce on the outside but so pitiful on the inside." Selena rolled up his sleeve, then treated the wound.

Selena watched as Stevan’s thick skin began to turn to ash after she finished applying her potion. This satisfied Selena, as her potion was working perfectly.

Before she knew it, she had undressed Stevan almost entirely, admiring his sturdy and powerful physique, which made her silently swallow.

All her husbands had bodies larger than hers—of course, that was because they were half-human, half-beast. Meanwhile, Selena didn’t know what kind of beast this body she was inhabiting belonged to.

"Good, you’re healed. Now we just have to wait for you to wake up—after that, you’ll be just fine." Selena turned her face away when she realized she’d been staring at Stevan’s muscular body the whole time. "I’d better leave right away. If he suddenly wakes up, it wouldn’t be funny at all if he caught us alone together with him not fully clothed!"

Selena made Stevan’s bed, then hurried out and breathed a sigh of relief once she was outside the room.

"Your Majesty, you’re sweating. Are you all right?"
