Chapter 46: Ch 46. Give Selena a Big Gift!

Selena stretched comfortably as she woke up this morning. She felt relieved that none of her five husbands had disturbed her sound sleep last night. That put her in a much better mood now that all her fatigue had vanished.

"Your Majesty, breakfast will begin shortly. Let me help you get ready," said Vee, who had already laid out the dress she would wear today.

Selena smiled softly, rose from her seat, and ran her fingers through her long, flowing hair.

"Are the kings waiting?"

"Not yet, but they’re already getting ready for breakfast together. They said there are a few matters they’ll be discussing, so you can get ready before things get busy again. Not to mention Kav, Kev, and that fox servant who serves as your personal messenger—whose name I don’t know—said there’s something they want to tell you in person regarding the task you assigned. There’s a lot going on, Your Majesty," said Vee, making Selena smile softly and nod.

"All right, there’s never a day without work. I’ll handle it just like I have every other day."

Vee smiled, then began helping her bathe and get dressed. Selena used the powder or cream commonly used by women in this world. She’d been using it for two days now, and her skin looked quite good and radiant.

It seemed that the ingredients used here for beauty and clothing were carefully selected, resulting in truly excellent products.

"Your Majesty," the fox servant greeted her as Selena stepped out of her room.

"Hmm, what did Young Master Hawksen have to say? Why did it take you so long to come see me?" Selena asked, deliberately pausing for a moment.

"Young Master Hawksen had gone out and didn’t return until late yesterday afternoon when I came to see him. Since I thought what you entrusted to me was important, I didn’t want to just hand it over to anyone else at the Eagle Clan’s residence. I waited for Young Master Hawksen to return, which is why I was late," she said, causing Selena to narrow her eyes slightly before nodding.

"All right, that’s acceptable. What’s the outcome?"

"Young Master Hawksen said he’d like to meet with you this afternoon, if you don’t mind meeting at the Eagle Clan’s restaurant. But if that feels too lowly for you, he’s willing to meet you directly at the palace. You’ll need to make a decision; I’ll convey it to him," the servant said politely, causing Selena to fall silent for a moment.

"Just at the Eagle Clan’s restaurant—I’m planning to go there anyway, so I can meet him briefly."

"All right, I’ll let him know."

Selena nodded, then walked toward the dining room while Vee followed her.

"Your Majesty, is it really all right for you to meet Young Master Hawksen outside? That could spark all sorts of rumors among the people of Eldoria, because as a queen, you must uphold royal principles," Vee said cautiously.

"I know this will turn into a rumor, but let it be. What can the people of Eldoria possibly do to me? At most, they’ll just whisper behind my back," Selena replied, then glanced at her with a hint of anxiety. "Besides, I came out on purpose because I wanted to see for myself and investigate the situation of the people of Eldoria up close. I need to know how widespread the black powder Briella spread is; that’s necessary to determine whether this situation is serious or not."

"Will you ask permission from the other kings?"

"Of course, I’ll discuss it over breakfast. Otherwise, they’ll cause a commotion again and think I’m running away like that time. It’s so embarrassing," said Selena, making Vee grimace in a funny way.

They arrived at the dining hall, and Selena was immediately greeted by her five husbands. After exchanging pleasantries and receiving their individual attention, Selena sat down and noticed Jhon looking refreshed in his chair.

"Did the treatment work, King Phoenix? You look like a new man," Selena remarked, making Jhon smile sweetly at her.

"Yes, Queen, you’re truly amazing. When I woke up just now, I felt like a different person. Usually, every night after I experience pain near my heart caused by that damned fire, I’d feel very weak and unmotivated to do anything in the morning. But today, I really feel full of energy," he said with a beaming face.

Selena gave a small smile and nodded in understanding, while Stoner, who had been watching Selena, also smiled gently when Selena’s gaze met his.

"That’s great—I haven’t heard of any problems happening to you. That means you followed my advice, which is pretty good because it kept my sleep undisturbed," said Selena, and Stoner took a breath while still smiling.

"This is the first time I’ve missed the full moon ceremony. I couldn’t train my powers, but at least I still have memories of those little problems and of my mother. Nothing has diminished, and my head didn’t hurt last night either. Thank you," Stoner said sincerely, but Selena just gave a small smile.

"I also got an amazing potion from Selena!" Stevan chimed in, causing all eyes to turn toward him. "You guys know I’ve been stuck at level 6 this whole time, right?! Last night, after I drank that potion, I leveled up to level 8! That’s truly amazing because I was able to level up without any training!"

Everyone there began to clap, and then Dorven politely raised his glass and looked at Selena.

"None of this is due to our own abilities! Selena is the one who’s done the most for us and for all of you! Come on, raise your glasses and let’s toast to honor her! Don’t forget—those of you who’ve received treatment and medicine from her must repay her kindness with gifts and something grand!" Dorven said, prompting everyone there to raise their glasses.

Selena did the same.

"Don’t worry, I’ve already thought of a gift to give Selena! I guarantee you’ll love it, Queen," said Stevan, making Selena smile.

"I hope it’s something valuable that will make me happy," Selena replied, making Stevan laugh.

"Of course—you’ll love it when I give it to you!"

"I’ll find the most precious thing for you, too," Jhon replied, not to be outdone. "Or if there’s anything you want, just say the word."

"Me too—I’ll give you anything of value. As long as you stay here with us, we’ll give you everything," Stoner chimed in, making Selena smile.

"All right, it’s a pleasure doing business with you all!" she replied, then raised her glass in a toast.

They laughed and drank the contents of their glasses with enthusiasm.

"But Selena, you have to look out for me too," Dorven said, making Selena smile.

"Of course, I’m ready to mine for gold, silver, gems, diamonds—or anything. So, I won’t leave any of you out!"

Dorven burst out laughing, followed by the others. They ate in a fairly cheerful atmosphere, but Selena could clearly sense that Vylen wasn’t as happy as the others.

This made her pay attention to Vylen, who was eating calmly and chatting as usual, yet still seemed to be secretly holding something back.

"Fox King, did you find anything at the place you visited yesterday?" Selena asked.

Vylen immediately turned his head, then took a deep breath.

"Tell me, and we’ll discuss it. Whatever you want to talk about regarding your clan—if it’s serious—talk to me too. I’d like to know as well; maybe I can help. What did you find?"
