The Evolution of the Weakest Ghoul
Chapter 141: Selvara 1
Chapter 141: Chapter 141: Selvara 1
Ronan left the village, and within minutes, the forest seemed to change as he found himself on a clear stretch of land. The beasts here were mostly at the Transcendent Realm, and when he looked back, the village was nowhere to be seen.
It was as good as gone, and all around him, the trees seemed vibrant and tall.
Ronan took a deep breath as he felt his mind clearing. The meat he had eaten contained a lot of energy that could boost his realm to the Seventh-Star King Realm once he broke through, but at the same time, it had another effect.
Right now, Ronan could feel his previously clouded mind becoming clearer than ever. In fact, his body felt lighter than ever before.
He was grateful for that, but more than anything, seeing the village disappear so mysteriously only reinforced the fact that those people were far from ordinary.
"Hmm... wait."
Suddenly, Ronan’s eyes lit up. He had barely walked a few steps when he noticed a faintly glowing light.
Following it, he saw a three-meter-tall portal near a small lake. The glowing light came from it, and there was no doubt that this was a portal leading to the Abyss.
Ronan was excited. He could finally go to the Abyss. The next problem was finding the female Vampire Lord, but he didn’t think that would be difficult.
Based on what the old man had said, she had a way to sense him. So, the moment he appeared in the Abyss, she would sense his presence and come to him.
This was exactly what he needed. Once he found her, he would kill her while taking the time to kill the vampires around her and upgrade his traits beyond their First Evolution.
Ronan removed the necklace around his neck, allowing his long white hair to appear. He wore casual clothes, yet they couldn’t conceal his beauty; instead, they enhanced it.
His aura, belonging to a Peak Sovereign Realm being, spread around him as he clenched his fist, producing a cracking sound.
"Status."
Ronan lightly licked his lips as he spoke. There was a certain calmness surrounding him now.

For Ronan, the additional quest wasn’t necessary. Even without it, he would still kill the female Vampire Lord.
Apart from that, one thing Ronan was particularly happy about was his current status. With his current strength, he had no problem killing a Two-Star King Realm beast and could even exchange a few blows with a Three-Star King Realm being.
He could even escape from a Four-Star King Realm being.
He was ready.
And so, Ronan stepped into the portal, and in the next moment, he found himself in the Abyss.
The first thing that hit him was the sky, followed by the atmosphere surrounding him.
It was dark red, with thick clouds hanging overhead and an enormous crimson moon illuminating the distant horizon. The air was heavy, carrying the smell of blood and rotting flesh, while the ground beneath his feet was covered in strange vegetation that seemed to thrive in the darkness.
Ronan took a deep breath.
"Ah... the Abyss."
He couldn’t help but smile.
It had been a while since he had last visited this place, and although the environment was far from pleasant, he felt strangely comfortable.
After all, this was a land filled with undead creatures and demons.
It was practically a paradise for someone like him.
Ronan looked around, trying to determine his location. He was standing on a vast plain surrounded by hills, with a forest stretching toward the horizon. In the distance, he could see several enormous structures that looked like the ruins of ancient buildings.
Before he could inspect them further, however, he sensed something approaching.
His expression changed.
Several auras were rushing toward him from the forest.
They were fast, and there were a lot of them.
Ronan narrowed his eyes as the creatures emerged from between the trees.
They were small, ugly humanoid creatures with reddish skin, sharp teeth, and long claws. Their backs were covered in bony protrusions, while their yellow eyes gleamed with an almost animalistic hunger.
Imps.
Ronan recognized them from his memories.
They were low-level demons commonly found in the Abyss, and their strength ranged from the Transcendent Realm to the King Realm. Individually, most of them weren’t particularly dangerous to a powerful being, but they were notorious for attacking anything that moved.
And there were thousands of them.
No, tens of thousands.
The creatures rushed toward Ronan with bloodthirsty roars, trampling over one another as they charged across the plain.
Ronan stared at the approaching horde.
"Seriously?"
He had barely arrived, and something was already trying to kill him.
The first group reached him, their claws tearing through the air as they attacked from every direction.
Ronan didn’t bother moving away.
He raised his fist and struck the nearest Imp.
Its body exploded, sending blood and flesh flying across the ground.
Another Imp leaped toward his back, only to have its head crushed beneath his elbow. Ronan spun around and kicked a third creature into the approaching horde, knocking several others aside.
The weaker Imps died almost instantly.
However, the creatures didn’t retreat.
They continued attacking, seemingly incapable of understanding that their enemies were far stronger than they were.
Ronan sighed.
"Do you people have any survival instincts?"
He activated Impact Force and struck the ground.
A tremendous shockwave spread across the plain, tearing through the advancing Imps and leaving a wide stretch of destruction in its wake.
Hundreds died in an instant.
Yet the remaining creatures continued rushing toward him.
Ronan’s expression became increasingly strange.
These things really didn’t know when to stop.
Then, among the horde, he sensed several stronger auras.
King Realm.
A few One-Star King Realm Imps charged toward him, their bodies considerably larger than those of their weaker counterparts. One of them swung a massive claw at Ronan’s head.
Ronan caught its wrist.
Before the creature could react, he twisted its arm and drove a fist into its chest.
Its body collapsed.
[Ding!]
[The host has killed a demon.]
Ronan ignored the notification and turned toward the next creature.
The second King Realm Imp attacked with a roar, unleashing a series of frenzied strikes. Ronan dodged the first few before grabbing its head and smashing it into the ground.
The earth cracked.
The Imp’s aura disappeared.
Ronan looked toward the remaining King Realm creatures.
"Who’s next?"
For the first time, the charging horde began to hesitate.
The weaker Imps still seemed eager to attack, but the surviving King Realm creatures finally appeared to understand the danger.
Unlike their mindless brethren, the stronger Imps possessed enough intelligence to recognize an opponent they couldn’t defeat.
One of them released a piercing screech.
The sound spread across the plain.
Immediately, the tens of thousands of Imps stopped advancing.
Ronan watched in surprise as the creatures began retreating toward the forest. Even those that had been attempting to attack him moments earlier turned around and fled.
Within a short time, the entire horde had disappeared between the trees.
Ronan stood alone on the bloodstained plain.
"...They can actually think?"
He had assumed the Imps would continue attacking until they were all dead. Their sudden retreat had caught him off guard.
He glanced at the corpses scattered across the ground.
He had only killed a few stronger creatures, yet that had been enough to make the entire horde withdraw.
Ronan was about to continue his journey when his expression suddenly changed.
Several powerful auras approached him from the side.
Unlike the Imps, these beings hadn’t rushed toward him blindly. They had approached quietly, surrounding him before revealing their presence.
Ronan turned his head.
Figures emerged from the surrounding darkness.
Pale skin.
Crimson eyes.
Sharp fangs.
No doubt this were vampires.
Ronan’s eyes narrowed.
He had barely entered the Abyss, yet he had already encountered them.
The vampires stared at him, their expressions changing the moment they saw his face.
Then one of them noticed the mark.
The mark that had remained locked within Ronan’s status.
His expression immediately changed.
"It’s him!"
The others looked at Ronan.
"The Ghoul Lord!"
Ronan’s eyes widened slightly.
Before he could say anything, the vampires attacked.
Their auras erupted simultaneously, and several of them rushed toward him with terrifying speed.
Ronan’s expression turned cold.
"So you people really were looking for me."
He had come to the Abyss intending to hunt vampires.
It seemed they had decided to make the first move.
