The Evolution of the Weakest Ghoul
Chapter 116: Beyond these Walls.
Chapter 116: Chapter 116: Beyond these Walls.
Ronan and the two women had satisfied expressions once they were done eating, their faces flushed as they left the shop. Only the Mayor told them to stand by as he chatted more with his daughter.
She had left home as early as four years ago. Even though they were in the same city, he only visited once in a while just to see how well she was doing.
Old man Jolan had been rather accommodating, infact he treated Asha like she was his granddaughter.
"Is it that time?" Looking at Asha, who was grumbling as she did the dishes at the back, the Mayor asked.
"It is... She has reached the required age. Any more time here and it would be a strain on her future," Jolan spoke with a smile while the Mayor’s heart was heavy.
After four years, both old man Jolan and Asha would leave this city and even this continent as they journeyed back to where Jolan came from.
"Thank you," the Mayor spoke as he bowed.
Who was he? Just a King Realm expert and the Mayor of this city. His future wasn’t anything grand, yet he was blessed with a daughter with a terrifying trait.
He could only dream of where she could reach, But old man Jolan took charge of it and helped him in training her.
They say that gold in the hands of a fool was nothing but stone.
After all, without going through fire, gold was nothing but a dirty stone.
"You’re welcome," Jolan spoke as the duo laughed and talked about the past for a bit before the Mayor said goodbye to his daughter. Only this time, they would actually be gone for a very long time without seeing one another.
Coming out, one could see traces of tears in the Mayor’s eyes as Ronan and the two women frowned.
"Are you okay, Mayor?" Ronan asked as the Mayor laughed lightly.
"Ahh, you know, it is something only fathers can relate to."
Shiaaa..
Ronan felt his heart suddenly pause. Counting his last life and this one, he never had his own children, and now the Mayor...
"Don’t worry, maybe you too will have children of your own with one of these beautiful ladies." The Mayor patted Ronan as the two women blushed while Ronan’s face twitched.
---
"Before, I thought you were a genius, but now I can see you are a monster, and that is why I think you would be perfect for the camp. Not only you, but the two women behind you too."
Turning to face Ronan, the Mayor spoke slowly.
"The Empire has been planning this for a while. There is a camp where geniuses from across the Empire gather, meet one another, and clash."
The Mayor paused before continuing.
"It isn’t only to promote brotherhood... cough, and sisterhood, between the potential leaders of humanity in the future."
He cleared his throat.
"But more importantly, it is a place where the monsters among geniuses can rise."
"Since the beginning of time, humanity has thrived when placed under pressure. The same applies to geniuses. In this camp, you will meet talented individuals from across the Empire, compete against them, learn from them, and, when necessary, work alongside them."
"The missions you will undertake are in the Abyss. There, danger is everywhere, and life and death can be decided in the span of a single moment."
The Mayor looked at the three of them.
"Some will return stronger. Some may never return at all."
A faint smile appeared on his face.
"Basha, Eve, and Joy, this is a formal invitation."
"Do you want to join?"
Hearing this, Hesa and Yen were taken aback. For Yen, if Ronan agrees, then she will. She also desired power.
Although she was now a One-Star Sovereign Realm being, you must know the Duke was at the Supreme Realm. This wasn’t enough, plus she didn’t know how the Duke’s family was now.
Were they fully destroyed? Was someone still alive? What about Bama?
She still wanted her revenge, and she would get it no matter what.
Meanwhile, for Hesa, this was her chance to be back with humans. This was an opportunity that only the most talented beings could get.
Back on her continent, being at the Peak of the Transcendent Realm, able to fight across ranks, was what the geniuses were able to do, and she was praised for it. But after meeting Yen and Ronan, her worldview had been changed.
On their continent, only her, Jani, and Tayin were considered talents before Ronan and Yen arrived.
But take Yen, for example. She was almost as strong as she was, and if they were to fight to the death, she wouldn’t come out without being severely injured. Meanwhile, Ronan...
Even when he was a realm below them, he was able to kill more than five thousand Transcendent Realm beings and even multiple Sovereign Realm experts, ranging from One-Star to even the Peak of the Sovereign Realm.
Yes, he almost died, but when pushed to the extreme, one could say Ronan could burst out and rival a Peak Sovereign Realm being while being at the Peak of the Transcendent Realm, compared to her being able to defeat a One-Star Sovereign Realm expert while at the Peak of the Transcendent Realm.
Yeah, it was like the difference between an ant and a lion.
Now Ronan was at the Fifth-Star Sovereign Realm. Only one could guess how strong he was.
What about this continent? One that had King Realm beings as mayors? Had two realms above the Supreme Realm?
How strong would those considered geniuses be on this continent?
Hesa was excited for it.
As for Ronan, heh.
I mean, it wasn’t so bad. Ronan doubted if he could kill those geniuses, but he knew if he tried, maybe a Legend Realm expert would kill him in the next moment, smothering his body over fire.
But the key word from the Mayor was that they would be venturing into the Abyss, which meant he could kill Ghouls, even Vampires and any other race he met.
Maybe even back on this continent, he might meet the Elves and get their traits.
"Yes... we... I mean, I agree," Ronan said with a smile. Anyways, he couldn’t make decisions for the two women. That ritual was a perfect reminder.
"I agree."
"I will join."
The two women replied as the Mayor smiled.
This was good. Anyways, there was nothing left for these three adventurers in this city. It was time for them to go beyond these walls.
