The Evil God Summoned by the Saintess

Chapter 687 All Is Guided by the Gods

Hilia is studying.

Studying a unique magic.

This magic is completely incomprehensible to Hilia; it seems to be a composite magic fused from many elements.

It’s very complex, but Rose says even a Tier One Mage can learn it.

It’s not much related to the rank, but significantly related to personal learning ability and elemental affinity.

Thankfully, it doesn’t include space elements, which Hilia is least adept at.

According to Rose, the effect of this magic, once cast, can disintegrate demons over a massive area, but it is only effective against demons with specific characteristics; it is ineffective against others.

In other words, this was taught to her by Rose specifically to solve the crisis of the beast tide.

“This is the simplest and most convenient method of killing. Although it’s a direct kill, it’s much easier and faster than expending resources. The magic power consumption is related to the number of demons, but your current magic power is sufficient to make all demons in a vast area surrounding a city disappear,” Rose explained.

Listening to Rose, Hilia studied seriously, but couldn’t help but wonder: “I can’t see the effect of this magic at all. It seems as if it merely fuses elements in a very intricate structure, yet these elements don’t manifest into any substantial magical appearance…”

“That’s because this magic resonates with the underground magic array. It was left by the creator of the array as a ‘backdoor’ program, effective only against demons born from the array’s influence, meaning it’s only effective against demons containing life elements,” Rose chuckled.

“The creator of the array… Why would he leave something like this?” Hilia blinked, somewhat puzzled.

“That I don’t know. Perhaps it’s because, during the Era of Calamity, there were demons that rivaled the Gods, causing him great trouble,” Rose shook his head. The sheer number of demons causes unpredictable variables, much like the Abyss that initially was merely a wasteland of pollution, which later formed into a demon world so formidable that even regular Gods couldn’t walk through it unharmed.

If pollution is likened to radiation, the Abyss is a subspace created by ancient Gods to store radiation. No one could foresee the birth of powerful Godzilla in that subspace.

When Hilia uses it, she can only clear a large area near a city. If a God uses it, they can erase all demons born within the array.

Time flies as Hilia learns magic, and by the time she successfully masters it, five days have passed since the Elf Royal Court used Apophis.

During this period, the Elf Royal Court launched Apophis once more, but the damage was much less than the first time. This was because when the Apophis Magic Cannon fired, the demons seemed to sense danger, with many burrowing into the ground to hide.

The central area was still eliminated instantly, but many demons survived on the outer areas.

Damage was reduced by at least 20%.

Seeing this, the Elf Royal Court stopped using the Magic Cannon, opting for other Magic Guide Devices to fend off the demons’ invasion.

Within the Elf Royal City’s beast tide command meeting, the Elf King looked seriously at the envoy from Phoenix.

“The methods you proposed aren’t very effective, and instead have made these demons even stronger.”

“Effective in letting us recognize these demons’ terrifying evolution; that is the greatest gain,” the envoy responded.

The Elf King furrowed his brow, “Tell us something we don’t know.”

The envoy was about to speak but suddenly stopped, looking towards the door.

The Elf King and many elders in the meeting room also gazed at the door.

Soon, a voice sounded from outside the door.

“Miss Elina, the King is currently meeting foreign guests, please wait until the reception is over for your turn.”

“At this crucial moment, you’re still meeting foreign guests? What good are they except suggesting the use of Apophis? They haven’t even managed to solve the beast tide attack on a single city!”

This was Elina’s voice.

She was extremely angry.

The Elf King furrowed his brows, looking apologetically at the Phoenix envoy.

“Apologies, let’s ignore her and continue.”

The envoy glanced towards the door and suddenly said, “Perhaps we should hear Miss Elina and… Miss Xi’s opinions. They’ve been blessed by the Gods; perhaps they’ve received a solution to the beast tide from the Gods.”

The Elf King pondered for a moment and nodded, “Alright.”

Moments later, Elina and Hilia stepped into the meeting room.

Phil didn’t come along; she was too prone to giving away secrets. She stayed in her room to handle the Divine Relic she received.

Everyone turned to the two, waiting to hear their insights.

The Elf King looked at them and calmly asked, “What brings you here? Why are you in such urgency to see me?”

The meeting room was within the Holy Tree’s domain, so their visit wasn’t obstructed.

Candia followed behind the two and remained quite calm.

Elina looked at the Elf King and spoke coldly, “At this point, do you truly refuse to let us combat the beast tide?”

The Elf King replied, “If your means of combat are like those of the past, staying with the Holy Tree is the safest option. This is a disaster impacting the entire race, Elina; don’t think you can single-handedly turn the tide. There are many Tier Six Mages present, none have such ambitious thoughts. You are now only Tier Four; the priority is to practice, elevate yourself, and achieve Tier Six soon.”

His gaze was profound.

“Only when you reach Tier Six… everything will be negotiable.”

“It’s definitely not the previous method. I am well aware of my limits,” Elina said nonchalantly: “If it weren’t for a new method, why would I bother coming here to make a fool of myself?”

The battle conditions in the Elf Royal City were not concealed from her.

The combat over the past few days, the battlefield akin to a meat grinder—she, being a Tier Four Mage, despite having formidable demon-killing abilities, makes an insignificant impact on the overall battle situation.

After all, no matter how strong she is at killing, she can only kill a few thousand demons a day, and on the battlefield, those seemingly endless demons in each region cause tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of deaths every day.

And that’s just the Elf Royal City’s region; those demons almost overwhelmed all cities within the Elf Forest, and some, guided by previous arrangements, charged other empires to stir trouble.

“What method does Miss Elina have in mind? Can you share it with us?”

The Phoenix envoy asked.

A fleeting displeasure crossed the Elf King’s eyes, but it quickly vanished, leaving no expression on his face.

“The method requires both Hilia and me to work together; it can directly eliminate all demons near the Royal City. As for the method, I’m sorry, but it can’t be disclosed because it’s guidance from the Gods.”

Elina spoke while looking at Hilia.

This was Hilia’s exact words.

The enormous magic array beneath the Elf Forest has been confirmed by both the Elf Race and other empires as the handiwork of the Gods. Coupled with the blessing received from the Gods, regardless of which God it is, saying it this way is definitely valid.

Believe it or not.
