The Evil God Summoned by the Saintess

Chapter 683: Awakened to the Royal City Defense Battle?

Hilia’s resistance these past few days was all observed by Rose.

In fact, even if Hilia didn’t try to crack the ‘immune system’s’ rejection reaction, in the end, those tendrils would still greatly intensify and then attack Hilia and the others.

Because according to a usual body, a high fever lasting two or three days would already cause severe damage to the human body, the ‘immune system’ needs to make a ‘charge’, either the body dies or the ‘virus’ dies.

The time Rose gave was actually not just the time for Phil to acquire the Divine Relic, but also the extreme time for the rejection reaction in this simulated body of Haroldias.

After this time, irreversible damage will occur to this ‘body’.

In other words, at the last moment, the offensive will increase geometrically until it reaches the limit that this ‘body’ can bear.

This limit is not something that Hilia can withstand now, even a Tier Six Mage cannot withstand it.

So, Rose just wanted to see how long Hilia would persist in the end, to see if she could silently endure it.

In the end, Hilia chose to try to crack the ‘immune system’, which made him nod.

If Hilia couldn’t hold on in the end and chose to ask for help, he would also use this method.

Hard breaking through isn’t impossible either, but it would disrupt all prior arrangements.

When everything returned to calm, Rose’s figure appeared next to Hilia, nodding, “Well done, next, we’ll just wait for the transmission gate to open.”

Hilia breathed a sigh of relief and finally relaxed completely.

“Finally…”

The girl felt her body go limp, almost falling. Fortunately, she used the magic staff as a crutch just in time to support herself.

She looked up at the others, smiling slightly, “Alright, we’re safe now. In about five hours, the transmission gate will open, and everyone can return. During this time, you all can wander around, just don’t attack recklessly; there’s nothing else to be cautious of.”

Everyone quickly relaxed.

The captain and Lanna were still mindful of their image, the remaining team member sat directly on the ground, elbows on knees, breathing heavily.

“Damn, I’m a Holy Tree Guard, why did I become an investigator to investigate such a dangerous place? This kind of place should be for the elders.”

The captain replied irritably, “If the elders could come, would you still be needed?”

Hilia didn’t join their conversation, she just let the magic puppet stand aside and sat cross-legged to meditate silently.

There was still some time until the transmission gate opened as Rose mentioned, and Hilia wasn’t sure what was on the other side of the gate.

If it was the Holy Tree underground, she would need to recover magic power and find a way to leave.

As for the others, after a simple rest, they decided to continue exploring.

Since Hilia gave the word, they felt free to gather more data in the final hours to send back to the Elf Royal Court for expert research.

Time passed quietly.

Soon, the time arrived, and a faint strange fluctuation appeared in the space in front of them. Dead branches slowly emerged from the ground, connecting in the air, gradually forming a doorframe, similar to the one they entered.

Seeing the appearance of the door, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

Lanna glanced back at the still beating ‘heart’ and murmured, “Seems like we’ve got nothing on this trip, huh.”

The captain responded irritably, “It’s good enough to be alive, and you’re still thinking of taking something? All the information here is our harvest. With this, I have a hunch that if the Royal Court gets it, they can definitely solve the pestering Beast Tide issue.”

Lanna looked at Hilia, “Miss Xi, not sure if we gained anything on this trip?”

Hilia said, “The gain is these peculiar things.”

The biggest gain was on Phil’s side, she at most attempted to let the ‘body’ accept her and sneakily obtained some memories of the gods.

Among them are some magic of life and death and some sealed past information.

But right now, she doesn’t have time to read those past memories; the priority is figuring out a way to leave the Elf Royal City with Phil first!

With Phil’s disguise, a few sentences out, and they would be exposed, she couldn’t delay.

Thinking of a way to escape in her mind, Hilia stepped into the transmission gate.

As the scene changed before her eyes, the familiar Holy Tree underground appeared in front of Hilia.

So, it’s still here. I thought it could teleport to another place. Hilia thought, feeling a bit of disappointment.

Along with her appeared Lanna, the other two, and Phil.

Hilia looked at Phil and asked, “Is there anyone else besides you?”

Phil blinked in confusion, asking, “Is there supposed to be someone else?”

“It’s nothing.” Hilia shook her head, choosing to ask Rose, “Lord Rose, wasn’t there supposed to be someone else holding the Flower of Life? Why didn’t they come out with Phil?”

Rose smiled slightly, “She didn’t enter from here, so she naturally won’t come out from here.”

“Oh, alright then.”

Hilia didn’t dwell on the matter.

As more Elf Guards approached to greet them.

“Miss Xi, the King has waited for you for a long time, please come with me to the Royal Court.”

Lanna laughed, “Miss Xi, you won’t decline this time, right?”

Hilia shrugged, “Alright, I’ll go with you to the Royal Court as a guest.”

Now wasn’t the time to flee, so she could only go along with their intentions for now.

Soon, the group reached the surface, and Lanna and the others bid farewell to Hilia as they had their tasks.

As Hilia prepared to follow the Elf Guards to the Royal Court, she suddenly paused, looking towards the distant sky.

Vaguely, she heard urgent alarm sounds.

And intense pollution waves and magic power waves.

“What’s going on? What’s happening over there?” Hilia frowned and asked.

“The Beast Tide has reached outside the Royal City and is besieging it,” said the guard.

“What? This soon?” Hilia was shocked.

According to the original Beast Tide offensive, there’s no way it could reach the Elf Royal City.

Because the Elf Royal Court was guiding the Beast Tide towards other empires and the Star Spirit Forbidden Land.

Judging by the timing, those Beast Tides should have long reached the Beastman Empire borders and the Star Spirit Forbidden Land, even possibly reaching the Lion Heart Kingdom.

Such matters would usually become smoother; the other empires, although infuriated, couldn’t say much.

But why has the Beast Tide rushed to the Royal City?

Now, it’s likely that the other empires wouldn’t trouble the Elf Royal Court.

After all, the Elf Race’s home was almost gone; they wouldn’t have the strength to restrain these demons from entering other empires.

Frowning, Hilia pondered, thinking it would be reliable to ask the Elf King about this matter. So quickly, with Phil, led by the guards, they entered the highest level of the Holy Tree, the area in the Elf Royal Court for guests.

The Elf King had already received news of Hilia’s arrival, and he put aside everything to welcome her personally.

Apart from him, there was also Elina, along with elders and Elf Warriors, some of whom Hilia recognized and some she didn’t.

Upon meeting, before the Elf King could speak, Elina already started.

“Hi… the Beast Tide intensity suddenly increased.”

“Huh?”
