Chapter 2656: A vessel for his reincarnation

"How do you even know where such an entity is located?"

The Demon King could not help but ask that question.

However, when Cain heard it, an odd expression appeared on his face.

"Isn’t it obvious? He should be in his Sacred Dimension."

The way the Scarlet King spoke made it sound as though there should be no doubt whatsoever, yet uncertainty remained in the Demon King’s eyes.

The Sacred Dimension of the Red King was certainly unique. It was a realm so stable that even battles between Alpha Omega Overgods could not damage its overall structure or disrupt its laws. In that regard, it was comparable to Origin Island itself and vastly superior to the higher realms of the Crimson World.

That alone was enough to prove that the Red King, its creator, had long surpassed the Third Realm.

However, the idea that such a being would still remain there after all this time felt somewhat unlikely.

"What makes you think that?" the Demon King asked directly.

Rather than attempting to decipher Cain’s reasoning on his own, he preferred to hear the answer.

"I find it highly doubtful that someone as powerful as the Red King would remain in that dimension indefinitely. If he is still alive, he has most likely ventured into the Emptiness, searching for higher battlefields, greater mysteries, and opportunities to continue evolving."

Cain smiled and nodded.

"I actually agree with you."

The answer surprised the Demon King.

"Then why are you so certain?"

Cain’s crimson eyes glowed as he looked toward the distant horizon, in the direction of the Sacred Dimension.

"Because even if the Red King himself has left, I believe there is still an incarnation, projection, or clone of him within that place."

The Demon King’s eyes narrowed.

"And why would he do that?"

Cain’s smile deepened.

"Because no matter how powerful you become, you would still want to witness the rise of your successor."

The Demon King blinked.

"Successor?"

"Of course."

The Scarlet King’s eyes shone with certainty.

"When I first entered the Sacred Dimension, I was too young and too weak to fully understand what I was experiencing. However, looking back now, it has become obvious."

He paused briefly.

"The Sacred Dimension was never merely a hidden realm filled with treasures. It was a trial."

"A trial?"

"A trial designed to find an inheritor."

The Demon King fell silent.

The more he considered it, the more sense it made.

After several moments, however, a different possibility surfaced in his mind.

His eyes sharpened.

"There is another explanation."

Cain immediately understood.

A knowing smile appeared on his face.

"You mean the possibility that the Red King is dead, and the Sacred Dimension exists to find a vessel for his reincarnation."

The Demon King’s expression darkened.

The casual manner in which Cain uttered those words unsettled him.

"Fourth Realm lifeforms are terrifying," he said solemnly. "Even after death, the power they leave behind can shake worlds. If the Red King truly intends to possess an inheritor, then even with your willpower and soul, survival would be far from guaranteed."

Cain continued smiling, but his eyes became sharp.

"I understand the danger."

His voice was calm.

"I also suspect that the Red King may stand at a level even higher than the Sacred Kings of Chaos and Order."

The Demon King’s frown deepened.

"And yet you still intend to go."

"I must."

There was no hesitation in Cain’s answer.

The Demon King stared at him for several seconds before speaking again.

"According to everything you’ve told me, Nito is certainly dangerous, but facing him with your current power would still be safer than entering the Sacred Dimension."

Cain nodded.

"You’re right."

The admission surprised the Demon King.

"Defeating Nito will be difficult, but the danger he represents is still less than what I may encounter inside the Sacred Dimension."

He slowly clenched his fists.

"However, Nito is not the true problem."

The Demon King’s eyes sharpened.

A deep breath escaped his lips.

"The King of the Tenth Empyrean World."

Monstrous killing intent flashed through Cain’s eyes.

The surrounding air trembled.

"That man killed my brother."

His voice remained calm, but the fury hidden beneath it was impossible to miss.

"He killed Anark even after my brother evolved into the Fourth Realm."

Every word carried immense weight.

"If I want to ensure the safety of my people, then I must kill him."

The Scarlet King’s gaze turned resolute.

"And if I want to kill him, I need to unify my bodies."

The Demon King remained silent.

Whether it was duty, vengeance, or responsibility, there was no denying the truth of Cain’s words.

As long as the ruler of the Tenth Empyrean World remained alive, true victory would remain impossible.

Finally, the old man nodded.

"I understand."

A faint smile appeared on his face.

"And I admire your resolve."

He folded his arms.

"I will help however I can. However, there is still one issue."

His expression became serious.

"How exactly do you intend to reach the Sacred Dimension?"

The Sacred Dimension of the Red King did not open at will.

Its entrances only manifested at vast intervals, and even in the most optimistic estimates, several million years remained before the next opening.

For most cultivators, that would have been an insurmountable obstacle.

For Cain, however, it was not.

A confident smile appeared on his face.

"I don’t need the door to open for me."

The moment those words left his mouth, golden light enveloped his figure.

Then he vanished.

Not teleported.

Not accelerated.

Vanished.

The Demon King’s eyes widened.

A moment later, Cain reappeared behind him.

The old ruler spun around in shock.

He had detected absolutely nothing.

There had been no fluctuation in space.

No distortion of laws.

No trace of movement.

It was as though Cain had simply disappeared from reality itself before returning an instant later.

A look of genuine amazement appeared on the Demon King’s face.

"Incredible..."

Cain clenched his fist.

"I can use the Endless River not only to travel between universes, but also to move freely within the same universe."

A confident light appeared in his eyes.

"As long as I can locate a destination, there is virtually no dimension I cannot enter."

The Demon King stared at him for several moments before breaking into a broad smile.

"Good."

He nodded.

"Very good."

Then his expression shifted.

"Since you’re planning to walk into a place that may contain a being beyond the Fourth Realm, you should at least take this."

The Demon King extended his hand.

Streams of darkness gathered from every direction, condensing into a single point.

The surrounding laws trembled.

Ancient power flooded the chamber.

Then, before Cain’s eyes, a majestic treasure slowly materialized.
