The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2612: Fusion of wills (II)

Chapter 2612: Fusion of wills (II)

Cain took a deep breath as he sent the will-beast into the Scarlet Star. The moment the creature merged with the heavenly body, the star began to tremble violently as the energy within it surged upward.

The Scarlet Star soon stabilized, holding the wild beast inside, containing all its energy, acting as an incubator.

Yet that was only the beginning. Cain continued drawing more of those twisted scarlet trees from the landmass below, reshaping them into manifestations of the fallen warriors’ wills before fusing them one after another into the Scarlet Star, steadily increasing its power.

However, energy was only one aspect of what was growing.

Cain was not simply packing wills into the Scarlet Star. He was fusing them together, merging several into one existence without allowing them to lose their strength or degrade.

It was the same principle that allowed the Curse Eaters to contain multiple souls within a single vessel while preserving their power and eogs. Even if Cain had conceived this idea on his own, he would never have been able to implement it so soon. It was only through his analysis of the Curse Eaters and the principles that sustained their existence that he had managed to advance this far, saving himself thousands—perhaps even millions—of years of experimentation.

His eyes grew solemn as he focused on the process unfolding within the Scarlet Star. This was the truly difficult part, but it was also the key to granting the warriors of the Nine Empyrean Suns Alliance massive increases in battle power and all kinds of unique abilities rather than mere bursts of energy.

Cain’s gaze sharpened as he stared into the core of the Scarlet Star. He could see the wills fusing together, becoming a chimera of ever-growing strength. Yet it did not take long for a frown to appear on his face as signs of instability emerged. The fusion was far from flawless, and incompatibilities grew increasingly severe the further the process advanced.

Even so, Cain refused to stop.

He continued pulling more trees from the scarlet realm and sending their transformed wills into the heart of the Scarlet Star. Hours passed as hundreds of wills merged together. Finally, the Scarlet Star began to shake violently before exploding apart the next second.

A monstrous creature emerged from the shattered remains.

It possessed dozens of heads. Some were humanoid, others beast-like, and several resembled grotesque insects. Every pair of eyes burned with rage, agony, and immense hatred. By all accounts, it was an abomination born solely for destruction.

Yet despite its horrifying appearance, a meaningful light appeared in Cain’s eyes.

The souls he had used belonged only to Divine Cultivators imprisoned within the Scarlet Throne, and despite numbering fewer than two hundred, they had produced a monster at the Prima Deity Rank. That result was astonishing. A single Prima Deity could slaughter thousands of Divine Cultivators with ease, even if they combined their powers through formations.

"-ARGHHH!"

The abomination roared before lunging toward Cain. However, it took only a single glance from the Scarlet King for the creature to explode into pieces. Due to the unique properties of the Scarlet Throne, its energy was not lost. Instead, it was redistributed throughout the vast scarlet realm, just like the shattered Scarlet Star itself.

Of course, it would take time for the Scarlet Throne to reform the fragmented wills, but that did not matter. There were billions of them within the realm.

As for the Scarlet Star, it would never reform. Its energy would descend upon the land and nourish the scarlet world below. Yet that was not an issue either, since after the death of its creator, the heavenly body had already lost its original purpose.

Cain closed his eyes for a moment as he analyzed every detail of what had just occurred. Slowly, a smile began to form on his face.

There were still many flaws and countless problems to solve, but the birth of that abomination proved one thing clearly.

He was on the right path.

Cain raised his hand once more and drew another dim Scarlet Star from the sky before turning his attention toward a distant river whose waters seemed forged from ghosts. This time, instead of acting immediately, he allowed his consciousness to dive deeply into the countless phantoms drifting through the river.

The [A.I. Chip Module] worked at full capacity as he analyzed every single will, searching for similarities in aura, instinct, and resonance. One by one, he marked those capable of achieving a greater level of harmonization.

After selecting enough compatible wills, Cain extended his left hand.

One of the ghosts twisted violently before transforming into a strange octopus-like creature that flew into his grasp before being sent into the Scarlet Star. Moments later, another phantom trembled and became a massive shark covered in jagged spikes. Cain immediately fused it into the star as well.

His eyes sharpened while he observed the chimera forming inside.

This time, the results were far more stable.

The wills harmonized much better than before, retaining their sanity instead of descending into madness and instinctive bloodlust. A small smile appeared on Cain’s face as excitement flickered through his eyes.

He continued the process relentlessly.

More and more ghosts were extracted from the river and fused into the Scarlet Star, causing the chimera within to grow increasingly powerful. Soon, the number of merged wills surpassed that of the previous attempt, yet new problems quickly arose.

Although the wills could coexist far better than before, conflict emerged when several of them began fighting for leadership of the vessel.

"-BOOM!"

The Scarlet Star exploded once more, and the chimera tore itself apart from within due to the internal struggle.

Cain frowned as he analyzed the new issue.

"If they remain sane, they will fight each other for control with such ferocity that they will literally tear themselves apart."

The Scarlet King fell silent as countless calculations flowed through his mind. The answer could not be reducing them to mindless beasts, because uncontrolled madness was not true power. A berserk monster might possess terrifying strength, but it lacked precision, discipline, and growth potential. Such creatures could never become the foundation of a new Path of Power.

What Cain needed was balance.

He needed wills capable of coexisting without losing their individuality while still submitting to a unified purpose. Only then could the fused entity achieve stable growth and evolve into something truly extraordinary.

His crimson eyes glowed brighter as the [A.I. Chip Module] accelerated its calculations. Millions of simulations unfolded every second, testing endless possibilities. Gradually, new ideas began to emerge within his mind.

Cain brought another Scarlet Star down from the sky and focused on a massive canyon in the distance. Countless mountains filled the scarlet landscape. Some were barely a few hundred meters tall, while others were gargantuan, stretching so high that their peaks vanished into the crimson heavens. Each one represented a soul sealed within the Scarlet Throne, transformed over endless years of torment into part of this monstrous realm.

His eyes narrowed as he analyzed them, searching for signs of harmony and compatibility. After a few moments, he focused on a mountain thousands of meters tall, one forged from the soul of a weak Prima Deity. The mountain trembled violently before cracks spread across its surface. The entire structure collapsed inward, twisting and writhing until it gave birth to a gigantic Will Beast.

The creature roared in fury, but it could do nothing as Cain raised his hand and dragged it into the Scarlet Star, sealing it within the heavenly body. He then shifted his attention toward the smaller mountains nearby, those created from the souls of Divine Cultivators.

Cain continued the fusion process, extracting more Will Beasts and forcing them into the Scarlet Star. Inside the heavenly body, the wills merged together into a growing chimera. Unlike the previous attempts, the stability of this fusion was much greater. The Will Beasts possessed similar natures, allowing them to harmonize with one another, and because the Prima Deity’s will was overwhelmingly stronger than the others, no conflict for leadership emerged.

The chimera rapidly grew more powerful as Cain continued adding new wills into the fusion. Its aura rose higher and higher, surpassing the limits of the earlier experiments. However, despite the improved balance, the flaws of the process eventually revealed themselves once more.

The Scarlet Star began to tremble violently.

Cracks spread across its surface before the heavenly body shattered into countless fragments. The Chimera Will emerged from the explosion, its eyes glowing with savage destruction as it glared at Cain. The immense power flowing through its body gave it the delusion that it could escape this realm.

That thought proved to be its final mistake.

With nothing more than a casual wave of Cain’s hand, the Chimera Will exploded into pieces. Its power and essence were immediately reabsorbed by the Scarlet Throne, returning to the endless cycle of the scarlet realm.

Cain calmly analyzed every detail of the experiment, reviewing every fluctuation and instability. A faint smile appeared on his face as he nodded to himself.

He had already solved half the problem.

"Now comes the messier part."

The smile quickly vanished, replaced by cold indifference. Cain stepped out of the Scarlet Throne and crossed the Everstrife Empyrean World at terrifying speed. It did not take long before he returned, bringing hundreds of people with him. They were members of the Six Sacred Races, all fully conscious yet completely paralyzed, unable to move a single muscle while remaining painfully aware of everything happening around them.
