Chapter 2340: Brothers’ teamwork

Chapter 2340: Brothers’ teamwork

"BOOM!" "BOOM!" "BOOM!" "BOOM!" "BOOM!" "BOOM!" "BOOM!"

Explosions reverberated across the core of Origin Island as three figures clashed at supreme speeds, each movement carrying overwhelming destructive power. One burned scarlet, another glowed crimson, and the third was shrouded in pure darkness. Their combined presence made the world itself tremble, space groaning under the strain of their power.

Rage roared within the Ancient One’s heart, yet his eyes showed nothing but razor-sharp focus. As Sky Devourer descended toward him, he raised his palm to block the blade. Even weakened, the Power of Negation slowed the sword’s momentum just enough for the Ancient One to stop it with his bare hand.

Before he could even think of counterattacking Cain, shots were fired toward him in rapid succession. Forced to react, the Ancient One released a pulse of repulsive force that blasted the Scarlet King away, then twisted his body backward to evade the incoming barrage.

The attacks of the Scarlet King were powerful, and when Chaos Arts were unleashed, they were undeniably dangerous. Yet the Ancient One was not truly concerned by them, as they could not end his life in a single blast. The same could not be said for the shots fired by the Crimson Exarch.

He assumed that the shot that had shattered half of his head could only be used one more time. The problem was that he had no way to distinguish a normal attack from the one that could unravel his existence. As a result, he was forced to treat every shot like a life destroyer.

As he weaved through the barrage, the Ancient One suddenly flashed forward, closing the distance toward the Crimson Exarch. Shadows writhed around his hands as countless eyes opened within them, their gazes locking onto their prey.

The Crimson Exarch’s eyes sharpened. He attempted to retreat, continuing to fire as he moved, but it wasn’t working. No matter how he repositioned, the Ancient One was drawing closer with every passing second.

Finally, the Ancient One closed the gap completely and dashed forward at a shocking speed.

In an instant, the Wings of Order flared, forming a barrier around the Crimson Exarch. However, the moment the Ancient One’s palm made contact with those wings, the Crimson Exarch felt an overwhelming sealing force assault every atom of his body. His movements froze, his power suppressed in an instant.

Before the Ancient One could capitalize on the opening, Sky Devourer struck.

The sword of the Scarlet King descended toward his neck, forcing the Ancient One to retract his hand and raise his arm as a shield.

"BOOM!"

Scarlet flames erupted as the blade landed. The raw power behind the strike pushed the Ancient One backward, his footing disrupted. And before he could regain full control of his body, the Crimson Exarch fused his guns together, forging a massive rifle.

A torrent of golden light erupted from the weapon, moving faster than any bullet.

It struck the Ancient One point-blank, sending his body tumbling across the ground and carving a deep path through the earth.

"ARGHH!"

With a furious roar, the Ancient One released a massive shockwave from his body, dispersing the beam of light as he planted his feet firmly into the ground.

But he had no time to recover.

Sky Devourer slashed downward once more, the raw physical power behind the strike reaching terrifying levels. The Ancient One raised his arm above his head to block it, the ground beneath his feet shattering as scarlet flames exploded upward.

The fire burned the flesh beneath the shadows coating his body, yet the Ancient One paid it no mind. His remaining eye locked onto the Crimson Exarch as another shot fired toward him, a bullet streaking directly toward his neck.

It could have been a normal shot—painful, but not fatal. Or it could have been the final Big Crunch Shot.

Unable to tell the difference, the Ancient One was forced to treat it as lethal.

He shifted to the side, allowing Sky Devourer to flay his left arm while narrowly dodging the shot. Immediately after, he twisted his body and unleashed a ferocious kick straight into Cain’s chest.

The impact cracked ribs, and blood spilling from Cain’s mouth as he was sent flying backward. Yet the Scarlet King reacted instantly, burying Sky Devourer into the ground to anchor himself. Fighting through the pain, he regained control and raised the sword once more.

He slammed the blade into the earth.

A cone of scarlet flames erupted forward, surging toward the Ancient One like a tidal wave.

The Ancient One thrust his hand forward, stopping the flames before they could reach him. At that exact moment, his eyes widened.

Two figures emerged from the fire.

From above descended the Scarlet King, hands raised high, his weapon wreathed in blazing flames. From below rose the Crimson Exarch, one gun emerging from the inferno, aimed directly at the base of the Ancient One’s skull—the quietest possible shot, capable of blowing the top of his head clean off.

There was only time to react to one.

Naturally, the Ancient One focused on the Crimson Exarch.

His left hand released a pulse of power that froze the Crimson Exarch in place, sealing his movements and halting the rise of his gun. Simultaneously, the Ancient One raised his right arm to protect himself from the descending sword.

But as the Scarlet King’s hands left the flames, shock flashed across the Ancient One’s eye.

What rested in those hands was not a sword.

It was a gun.

In that instant, realization struck.

The Crimson Exarch had been wielding only one of his guns.

The other had been in Cain’s hands the entire time.

The wall of flames had been nothing more than a distraction—a chance to create an opening.

And it had worked.

The Scarlet King leveled the gun directly at the Ancient One’s face. A smile formed despite the blood on his lips.

He pulled the trigger.

The Big Crunch Shot was unleashed.
