Chapter 2313: War between the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe and the Crimson World
Cain clenched his fists as he gazed at the scenery forged by the energy of the Demon King. It was clear that the one on top was the Crimson World, and the one in the middle was the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe before its fracture and the loss of the Tenth Empyrean World. However, what really caught his attention was the universe at the bottom.
Currently, the one sending Depravitas into the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe was the Tenth Empyrean World—the Scarlet King knew that much. However, that was not where they first came.
For a very long time, one question had surfaced in Cain’s mind over and over again.
Who was responsible for the Great War that nearly broke the Crimson World and the fracture of the Tenth Empyrean Suns Universe? Now, for the first time, he got a glimpse of the answer, and it was not a pretty one.
Immediately, his eyes turned toward the Demon King, but before he could start the bombardment of questions, the Demon King raised his hand. "I cannot answer questions or give details about my origin universe."
After uttering those words, the Demon King sighed as he looked into the distance.
"It is not about loyalty. After all, after surpassing my nature and becoming a Prima True Depravita with the help of Adam, I can only see them as enemies. However, our masters made sure that we could not divulge that information by any means, so in case one of us was trapped, the enemies could not use our memories to track our origin."
Cain clenched his fists as he heard those words, but no matter how frustrating it was, he could do nothing but sigh. He did not believe that the Demon King was lying—after all, there was no reason for it, since Cain could not force the True Depravita to divulge that information. However, as he went through the knowledge, a meaningful light crossed his eyes.
"Masters? Do you mean leaders of your forces... or masters of the Depravita Race?"
That question was very meaningful. After all, if they were just leaders of the invasion forces, that would mean they were simply stronger Depravitas, but if they were masters of the entire Depravita Race, then it could mean they were something else, a different race.
If it was the second, things were becoming much, much more dangerous, as any force that considered itself master of a Supreme Race was bound to be a powerhouse of incredible might.
And while the Scarlet King had never faced them before, he could only see them as enemies.
The Demon King did not utter a response, yet the light in his eyes created a silent pressure that assaulted Cain’s heart.
"Ahhhh." Cain released a long sigh, because the more he understood of the universe, the more dangers he found.
He could not help but gaze once more into the universe at the bottom and feel his instincts warning him. They invaded both the Tenth Empyrean Suns Universe and the Crimson World, and while they were defeated, they managed to retreat without leaving even the slightest physical evidence of their presence. The only reason he knew it happened was due to the memories of the warriors who were present during that time, and even then, the knowledge they could share told him nothing about their origin or if they would ever come back.
After a moment, Cain shook his head and focused on the present. The third universe was a danger—there was no doubt of that—but there were more pressing matters. His eyes grew sharp as he stared at the Demon King.
"The Ancient One’s plan for Unification—what exactly will happen?"
The Demon King did not keep things from Cain.
"I don’t believe that the Ancient One will use the power of the King of the Crimson World to aim at my origin universe. I don’t think he can even reach them. However, he will definitely aim at the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe."
The True Depravita considered his words for a moment before carrying on.
"Once the barrier is gone, the universes will begin to converge, and it will be catastrophic. Worlds will crumble and Realms will shatter, so there will be endless casualties. Given that the Crimson World is stronger and with more powerful and stable laws, the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe will take the worst of it."
Cain’s eyes widened as he heard that, as it was very bad news, and it had yet to end. The Demon King considered his words very carefully, as he knew the next part would deeply affect Cain, but he was not going to hide things from the young man.
"After the convergence starts, and due to the violent and chaotic nature, the two Universe Wills will collide with each other, trying to overcome the other, and incite their warriors to kill the other side. So the chances of a universal war are very high, leading to bloodshed beyond measure."
Cain’s eyes narrowed, and a flash of killing intent and brutality arose in them as he heard that. While he was a multiverse entity with lives in the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe and the Crimson World, it was the first where he truly considered his home.
There were people in the Crimson World he cherished and would protect no matter what, like Meylin, but it was the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe that had an entire Empyrean World worshipping him as a god and king, along with several more Empyrean Worlds that saw him as a master of war and that fought and bled by his side as they faced the horror that came from the Emptiness.
If a war were to arise between the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe and the Crimson World, he would have to make decisions he really did not want to.
After a few seconds, the bright scarlet light in his eyes grew incredibly dense and fierce. In order to avoid that future, the answer was simple.
"Kill the Ancient One."
