The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2238: The Rose of Endless Rebirth

Chapter 2238: The Rose of Endless Rebirth

Despite existing only as a memory, the colossal Tower crowned with a crimson sun remained a vision Cain doubted he would ever forget. It was a place of wonder beyond imagination—a structure older than eras, grander than realms, and steeped in a power so absolute it defied ordinary comprehension.

If he ever gained the chance, he would truly cherish the opportunity to see it with his own eyes rather than through borrowed recollection.

But Cain did not allow himself to drift too long into the past. His gaze lifted toward the ceiling of the Samsara Sacrificial Ground, where the remnants of Merit still pulsed gently.

His Samsara Seal had consumed roughly sixty-five percent of the Merit forged from the Fortune, leaving an abundant portion unused. Cain had expected such an outcome. That was precisely why he had not come alone this time.

A small, meaningful smile touched his lips as he turned toward Anark.

The True Primordial of the Void felt an involuntary shudder ripple down his spine. It wasn’t fear—not of enemies or horrors, for he had faced more of those than most living beings could comprehend. But the agony that accompanied the forging of the Samsara Seal was clearly beyond ordinary suffering.

Even Anark harbored no illusions about what awaited him. Still, he also knew he had no choice. The future would bring inevitable clashes with The Root and Radagon, and without the power of the Samsara Seal, he would not survive those confrontations.

After a quiet breath, Anark gave Cain a solemn nod.

Not even a heartbeat later, the Scarlet King directed the remaining Merit toward him. The brilliant purple energy shot forward, threading into Anark’s existence, and immediately the Samsara runic lines began carving themselves through his body.

Anark’s eyes widened. His jaw locked. His fingers clenched with such force that blood began dripping from his palms as he struggled to maintain composure.

"AHHHH, GOD DAMM IT!" The scream tore itself from him despite all attempts at restraint.

No matter who or what you were, no matter how ancient, hardened, or monstrous, the carving of the Samsara runes was a horror that transcended ordinary limits. It felt as if each individual nerve was being pulled from the body, unraveling one strand at a time.

Cain offered Anark a small, sympathetic smile, though he did not intervene. The True Primordial was more than capable of enduring the ordeal; Cain had no doubt of that.

Instead, he took the opportunity to turn his attention inward—to the newly awakened Samsara Runic Set—just as the Samsara Lord had instructed. Extending his consciousness toward the runes, he examined their structure and allowed the knowledge encoded within them to surface.

What he learned astonished him.

Unlike the former runic set, which merely granted the ability to burn part of one’s essence and regenerate, the Samsara Runic Set carried a third and equally amazing power.

The Rose of Endless Rebirth.

Its first and foundational ability was known as the Phantom Chalice, which functioned as a reservoir of Death Energy.

Whenever Cain received a wound, the Rose of Endless Rebirth would instinctively consume part of the damage—shielding him while simultaneously forging Death Energy from the destructive force directed at him. This energy accumulated within the Rose, and as enough was gathered, the petals would begin to bloom one by one.

With the blooming of the first petal, Cain gained access to the Rose’s secondary powers.

He could trigger the Cycle Reversal Pulse, channeling the stored Death Energy through the Samsara Runic Set and transforming it into pure Life Energy. This Life Energy could heal both his physical body and his soul.

Alternatively, he could store the Death Energy within the Rose for offensive purposes.

Through the Offensive Bloom System, each blooming petal infused Cain’s attacks with concentrated death essence, dramatically enhancing his destructive capabilities. And once nine of the eighteen petals bloomed, he could awaken the Ninth Petal Death Field, a devastating field of overbearing annihilation.

There was more.

He could choose to unleash all the accumulated Death Energy in a single catastrophic eruption. This technique, known as Singular Samsara Eruption, expelled the entirety of the Rose’s stored power at once. If all eighteen petals were released simultaneously, even the soul of an Alpha-Omega Overgod could be reduced to nothingness.

As Cain finished analyzing the power of the Rose of Endless Rebirth, he almost could not believe what he had discovered.

Its capabilities were overwhelming—absorbing part of the force aimed at destroying him, converting it into power for himself, and using that same power to either restore his existence or annihilate his enemies. A weapon and a shield fused into one. A cycle of rebirth and destruction intertwined perfectly.

For a brief, absurd moment, Cain felt so tempted to strike himself just to test the Phantom Chalice that he nearly raised his hand, but he immediately discarded the foolish idea.

The Samsara Runic Set possessed a rudimentary sentience, and for the Phantom Chalice to activate, the attack had to harbor genuine killing intent—true mortal danger that could only come from an enemy determined to end his life. There was no tricking the runes with half-hearted self-harm.

Drawing a slow breath, Cain calmed the rising thrill in his chest. His attention shifted once more to the ceiling of the Sacrificial Ground, where seven golden orbs hovered, gleaming softly.

Though he had already achieved his ultimate goal, the Gifts were no less important. Part of his plan depended on earning the goodwill and cooperation of the powerhouses of the Six Sacred Races, and that would prove difficult if he failed to keep his promise. Among those Gifts, there had to be treasures capable of supporting them.

"No point in delaying," Cain murmured, eyes sharpening.

He sent his consciousness into the orbs.

Immediately, all seven burst open, revealing their contents. Seven majestic and formidable Alpha-Omega Overgod Treasures unfolded before him, their nature and purpose flooding across Cain’s mind. As he processed each artifact, a wide smile formed.

"Success!" he shouted with thrill and excitement.

Five of the treasures aligned perfectly with the combat style of Cipher and the other titans of the Six Sacred Races. Some matched more precisely than others, but each one could strengthen them immediately—just as Cain had promised.

By the time he finished, the expansion of runic lines across Anark’s body had also completed.

Cain turned, and his smile widened even further as he saw the results. The Merit had granted Anark a First-Order Samsara Seal, meaning the True Primordial had gained a Pseudo-Immortal Body.

The two exchanged a firm nod.

This brief expedition had been a resounding success.
