Chapter 2231: Evolving a new module

After three days, Cain and the ArchDeities of the Scarlet Kingdom had ravaged the land, stripping every high-grade treasure scattered across the central regions of the world.

There were certainly more relics lying dormant in distant continents, but their value was nowhere near worth the time and effort required to gather them. With the most precious resources secured, Cain and the others ascended into the void, heading toward the Empyrean Wall.

As he rose through the silent expanse, the Scarlet King gazed toward the Abyssalcrown Empyrean World. While he and his forces had been harvesting treasures, he had learned of a revolution unfolding across the land.

Duncan and the Light Army had not followed his advice to hide. Instead, they seized the opportunity to strike. Mobilizing all their strength, they launched a sweeping offensive the moment Draco and the other ArchDeities of the Abyssal Royals fell. In days, they claimed control over several continents and continued warring for the remaining ones.

Their mission, however, would not be simple. The Scarlet Kingdom had not exterminated every Third-Realm master among the Dark Races.

Cain and his subordinates had focused specifically on the corrupt, the wicked, and the depraved. The few Prima Deities who were free of sin and atrocity had been deliberately spared. Allowing them to endure was not an act of mercy but a measure to prevent genocide.

The Light Army was overflowing with rage and hatred—justifiably so. They had been treated as slaves for millions of years. If left completely unrestrained, nothing would have stopped them from butchering every being of the Dark Races in blind retribution.

The survival of a handful of Dark-Race powerhouses would force a balance to reemerge, much like the one that existed in Aether before the rise of the Scarlet Path. It was far from ideal, but it was the best future Cain could secure for this world while he was occupied with the threat of The Root.

Anark possessed a drop of Cain’s soul blood, which allowed the True Primordial of the Void to sense their approach the moment they neared the Empyrean Wall. Fortunately, the Everstrife Empyrean World and the Abyssalcrown Empyrean World remained close enough for a controlled wormhole to be forged. It did not take long for the Empyrean Wall to tremble, crack, and then yield as a portal tore open in the void.

Cain cast one final glance at the Abyssalcrown World. It was still full of wonders—lands, secrets, and mysteries he would have loved to explore—but every second mattered. He would return eventually, and when he did, he would do more than simply slay tyrants.

There was no point wasting time with sentimental words. Without hesitation, Cain stepped forward with the ArchDeities and crossed into the wormhole, emerging moments later within the Everstrife Empyrean World’s void.

Once the last of them passed through, Anark exhaled deeply and allowed the portal to collapse. Breaking the Empyrean Wall had been brutally taxing, even for him. But fatigue lasted only a second before fading behind the rising excitement in his eyes.

As he looked upon the group, he could feel their increased power. It had been less than three months, yet each of them had grown tremendously—an evolution that would normally demand thousands, if not tens of thousands, of years for cultivators of their realm.

Traveling to other worlds and devouring the life and souls of their greatest champions was not a sustainable method of growth, but such concerns meant nothing now. Only rapid ascension mattered, and this journey had delivered.

Cain turned toward the ArchDeities, his eyes sharp and commanding. His voice alone drew absolute attention. "Go. Consolidate your cultivation. It is vital that you are ready when the moment arrives. Even a drop of power might make the difference between life and death."

Leonidas and the others remembered very clearly the overwhelming presence of The Root. Even after all their growth, they knew they were still far from being able to secure their own survival against that abomination. They would use every second to strengthen themselves further.

They bowed deeply to Cain and to Anark before flashing back into the Scarlet Crown, ready to internalize everything they had gained from their journey.

Cain glanced toward Anark. After exchanging a silent nod, the Scarlet King vanished into the Scarlet Crown as well, while the True Primordial remained outside the world, folding himself into the chaotic currents of cosmic energy as he deepened his connection to the universe and strove to awaken his next Star of Origin.

Once inside the Scarlet Crown, Cain’s expression sharpened. He voiced a question of great significance."System... how much SDF do I have?"

A wide smile spread across Cain’s face at the sight of the numbers. Venturing into an entirely new Empyrean World, defeating its peak powerhouses, and orchestrating their massacre had rewarded him with a massive influx of SDF—enough to evolve another module and still keep a considerable reserve for emergencies.

Cain was ready to advance to the next Rank. However, there was something else he needed to accomplish while his cultivation base remained at the Prima Deity stage.
