Chapter 2172: A time of peace
Chapter 2172: A time of peace
It took several days, but Cain’s energy finally began to circulate in perfect rhythm with the principles of the Cosmic Anvil Scripture. There was no sudden leap in cultivation rank, but he could already feel the difference. His body thrummed with new vitality, his energy flowed faster and smoother than before.
Each pulse of his essence refined him further, transforming motion into strength, rhythm into power. Even without formal advancement, his combat ability and cultivation speed had both grown measurably.
"Now... it is time," he whispered.
A faint smile crossed his face as he vanished from the meditation chamber and reappeared high above the Scarlet Crown, the radiant capital of his kingdom.
The sky itself trembled under his presence.
Cain’s aura flooded the firmament, spreading across the sky like a crimson dawn. Every eye in the city turned upward as the air shimmered, and an immense shadow began to coalesce above them, a being vast enough to eclipse the suns.
The Primarch of Conquest Leviathan had manifested.
Its colossal form radiated power and dominion, a living testament to the Scarlet King’s will.
Cain was not one for ostentatious displays, yet he understood their purpose. Symbols mattered. For the people, seeing power incarnate, something to aspire to, was the spark that ignited faith. If they could glimpse greatness, they could strive for it themselves.
He looked down upon the city below, where millions of citizens gazed up at him with awe. The scarlet light reflected in their eyes glowed like tiny embers, flickering with ambition and reverence. A connection pulsed between them, unseen yet unmistakable.
For a moment, Cain simply stood there, basking in the unity of his people. Then, as the phantom Leviathan remained suspended in the sky like a divine guardian, the Scarlet King’s form vanished.
He reappeared upon a distant mountain range, where four familiar figures awaited him.
Astrid. Shura. Rylanor. Magnus.
The moment they saw him, their faces broke into wide, joyful smiles. Cain felt warmth rush through his chest, an emotion he had not indulged in far too long.
There were many meetings he would need to attend, many councils and decisions awaiting him. But now, there was no crisis, no looming war, no cosmic threat. The world was stable. The kingdom was thriving.
This time belonged to his family.
Without hesitation, he embraced his two wives, pulling them close. Their auras merged into his, filling the air with gentle warmth and serenity. The three of them stood in silence, holding one another for several long minutes, letting the weight of years apart melt away.
When they finally parted, Cain gazed at Astrid and Shura, his heart swelling with love. They were even more radiant than he remembered, and far stronger. Thanks to the myriad of unorthodox cultivation scriptures he had acquired from the Ouroboros Cult, both women had advanced tremendously in his absence. Their foundations were deep, their wills sharper than ever.
Then his gaze turned toward his sons.
Rylanor and Magnus stood tall, their power humming beneath their calm exteriors. Both had reached the Prima Deity Rank in the Ego Eternal Path of Power during the Scarlet–Imperium War, and clearly, they had not wasted the years that followed.
Rylanor’s heart burned brilliantly due to the star held inside, its light only a breath away from ascending to a Rank 12 Astral Supremacy Star. Magnus’s Inner Universe, by contrast, had grown so vast and stable that it rivaled the strength of a Half-Step Archdeity.
Cain could sense the faint halo of a Star of Origin forming above Rylanor’s brow and the dense aura of the Flow swirling tightly around Magnus. Their growth exceeded even his expectations.
"Their potential still burns hot," he thought, satisfaction flickering through his eyes. "If they continue walking their paths without faltering, they might surpass the realm of ArchDeities altogether."
Both young men bowed their heads slightly under his gaze, their chests swelling with pride.
Then, with a sweep of his hand, Cain rose into the air, and his family followed. The five of them flew across the skies of the Everstrife Empyrean World, cloaking their auras to avoid drawing attention.
To everyone below, they were nothing more than travelers, a family wandering through the beauty of a peaceful world.
For the first time in decades, Cain allowed himself to breathe.
His mind, which had been forged in constant conflict and burdened with endless calculations in the Crimson World, finally found rest. The gentle wind brushed against his face as they soared above endless cities and emerald plains.
What he saw filled him with quiet joy.
Across the continents, the cities and towns thrived. Harmony flowed through the streets. The weak were protected; the strong pursued growth without tyranny.
Beyond the cities, Cain’s senses detected the constant clashes of cultivators, duels, and trials fought across desolate lands and floating arenas. Far from disturbing him, it reassured him. Struggle meant progress. Growth. Evolution.
It was the way of the Scarlet Path.
During those tranquil months, Cain also devoted himself to his family’s advancement. His wisdom as the greatest Tribulation Enhancer alive proved invaluable to Astrid. With his insight, her understanding of the profession deepened immeasurably.
For Rylanor, Cain imparted the ancient principles of the Primordial Race, teaching him the resonance between body and world. His guidance accelerated his son’s ascension toward the next realm.
Magnus, too, received his father’s direct teachings. After Cain’s journey through the Sacred Dimension of the Scarlet King, his mastery over the Flow had reached unprecedented heights. He shared this understanding freely, showing Magnus how to bridge the Flow’s principles into the foundation of his own cultivation, guiding him toward the Aspect of Unity.
Shura’s case was different. Her mastery lay in Runic Crafting, an art Cain did not specialize in. Yet, thanks to the vast knowledge he had absorbed from hundreds of Prima Deities, and even one Archdeity, who had fallen into the Scarlet Throne, he was able to illuminate key insights she had long sought.
And so, three months passed in peace.
They wandered mountains and cities, walked through meadows and across ancient ruins, shared stories, laughter, and silent moments beneath the stars.
Cain taught. His family learned.
But more importantly, they simply lived.
For a man who had battled monsters, burned continents, and slain overgods, the quiet joy of walking with his loved ones was a luxury far rarer than power.
As the days drifted by, the Scarlet King looked upon his family, upon his world, and felt something he hadn’t known for decades, contentment.
It was a very precious sense of peace. One he did not know yet, but would be really helped when he faces the horrors that are coming his way.
