Chapter 636: Chapter 343: Clashing with the Water God

"She is not one of our people," the other party said.

Jiang Man cut straight to the chase. "I want information on her."

Hearing this, the other party chuckled. "With the Immortal Sect maintaining order, don’t tell me they can’t find her?"

Jiang Man replied calmly, "Why else would I come to you?"

The other party froze, taken aback by his bluntness. He couldn’t find her, yet he was acting this self-righteous? For a moment, he felt even more certain that the person before him was truly a bigshot.

"Since you want information on her, shouldn’t you offer something in return?" the other party asked.

Jiang Man nodded. "What do you want?"

"The Emperor’s Heart," the voice on the other end stated simply.

Jiang Man fell silent. It wasn’t because the price was too high, but because he had no idea what the Emperor’s Heart was. How was he supposed to respond?

Just then, he saw the Old Yellow Ox give him a hint.

"You want its location?" Jiang Man asked.

"I want the item," the other party replied.

"Alright," Jiang Man answered casually.

The other party paused. "You’re not joking, are you?"

"Are you?" Jiang Man countered coldly. The Emperor’s Heart sounded like something far beyond the reach of someone like him, yet the other party actually dared to ask for the item directly.

"We are in no rush, but that Evil God won’t just let this go. I heard you broke her Array, but she’ll soon develop countermeasures. I hope you can still handle it. It won’t be easy for your people to find her," the other party said.

Jiang Man said calmly, "Do you think you’re the only Evil Gods who have information on her?"

The other party seemed to stare intently at Jiang Man through the connection. "You can try. However, for a bigshot like you to suddenly appear in the Black Spirit Abyss... could it really be to prevent anything from happening to that Jiang Man? Does that mean he is truly as the rumors say?"

"Give me the information I want, and I’ll tell you if it’s true," Jiang Man said flatly. Selling himself out wasn’t a big deal.

"We will verify it ourselves. There’s no need to trouble you. Besides, you should think carefully—who knows what kind of situations might arise on the fringes of the Immortal Sect’s jurisdiction?" With that, the other party ended the communication.

The token still retained some Evil God Power, allowing for a second communication. Picking up the token, Jiang Man sighed with emotion. "Are they waiting for me to bow my head?"

Putting the item away, Jiang Man looked at the Old Yellow Ox. "Old Huang, what is the Emperor’s Heart?"

"It is the Emperor’s Heart previously controlled by the Sun and Moon Immortal Emperor. This Emperor’s Heart is said to be the core of the Immortal Dao, likely similar to the primordial Sword Intent," the Old Yellow Ox explained.

Hearing this, Jiang Man felt that he definitely needed to find the Emperor’s Heart. He had to touch it. As for handing it over to the Sun and Moon Immortal Path, the matter was too significant; he wouldn’t dare. Even if Ting Fengyin nodded in agreement, he would still have to weigh the consequences. Who knew if Ting Fengyin was just planning to go crazy?

Pausing for a moment, Jiang Man suddenly asked, "Old Huang, if I touch the Emperor’s Heart, I shouldn’t be remembered or dragged into some karmic vortex, right?"

"No," Old Huang gave a definitive answer.

With that, Jiang Man felt relieved. However, this route was now blocked. He had to get information from elsewhere. The remaining options were Mu Kong, Ling Hua, and the mysterious Evil God.

"I wonder if the mysterious Evil God is still interested in Zui Fusheng’s last appearance in the Black Spirit Abyss. If I can get the whereabouts of the Sun and Moon Immortal Path’s important mole from her, things will be much easier," he mused.

He was at a disadvantage this time precisely because he didn’t have enough information to know his enemy as well as himself. Otherwise, he definitely could have extracted more information from the Evil God just now.

Afterward, Jiang Man asked Old Huang who the person he had just spoken with was likely to be.

Old Huang fell silent for a moment before saying, "A remnant of the Immortal Court. The Water God who once controlled the Heavenly River, the Ruo River, and the Four Seas."

Jiang Man was stunned. A Great Evil God. If he had known earlier, he would have called Ting Fengyin over to show him a thing or two. But wasn’t this also fate? The Sanhe Sect’s Evil God arrangements seemed to be related to the Four Seas Evil Gods or the Water God. His real name was being targeted, and now his alias was being targeted too.

After that, apart from waiting for news, all Jiang Man had left to do was focus on his Cultivation. He needed to elevate his Physical Body to Perfection as well. Then, he would accumulate enough for the fourth Perfection Gourd. That way, his Primordial Spirit would reach its absolute peak state. As for how much combat power he could exert, that depended on his application of power and his Cultivation of Magic Skills.

Of course, as long as he advanced to Perfection, he could still secure a top-three spot by relying on the Great Sun Shining Sky. But against the Bai Family Ancestor, it would seem a bit inadequate.

Afterward, Jiang Man resumed his normal Cultivation and teaching. During his lectures, he noticed that the first eight students were absent once again, having gone off to complete missions. Only four people remained in the Primordial Spirit class.

This made Mr. Yan feel much better. She would be even happier if Jiang Man went to complete missions too. She always felt that keeping Jiang Man around would easily bring her massive trouble.

Half a month later, in early October.

Jiang Man felt that his Physical Body had reached a critical point. It wouldn’t be long before he could open the fourth Gourd and enter the Physical Body Perfection Realm.

Tantai Xue sat in a wicker chair in the courtyard, looking at the old tree. The October sunlight filtered through the sparse leaves, scattering mottled spots of light over her skirt. Whenever the wind blew, the light spots swayed along with it.

She held a cup of tea in her hands. It had already gone cold, and she hadn’t taken a sip.

"Senior, who is that Array Evil God? Why is everyone looking for information on her?" Tantai Xue asked.

Ling Hua’s side wanted information, and the Law Enforcement Hall was secretly investigating as well. Not only that, but even some Evil Gods were inquiring about this Great Evil God.

"Someone from the Ji Family," Tantai Xiaotian finally said after a long silence.

The hand Tantai Xue used to hold her tea paused. She looked somewhat bewildered. "The Ji Family? Ji Hao’s ancestor?"

"More or less." Tantai Xiaotian nodded. "Don’t be fooled by the fact that she isn’t very strong. The things she has done were earth-shattering. Back then..."

His voice abruptly cut off there.

"What happened back then?" Tantai Xue asked.

Tantai Xiaotian didn’t continue the story. He merely said, "Since she has appeared, you will slowly come to know."

"The Ling Hua Immortal Spirit wants information about her. Should we sell it?" Tantai Xue set the cold tea down on the small side table next to the armrest. Pondering, she said, "We can get information on Zui Fusheng from him, or at least clearly figure out his purpose for going to the Black Spirit Abyss back then.

"The Ling Hua Immortal Spirit claims it’s to prevent upheaval in the Immortal Sect, and we always need to figure out the source of this upheaval.

"Moreover, I heard that the Sun and Moon Immortal Path has made some major moves recently.

"They say they are trying to pinpoint Zui Fusheng’s location.

"There is a high probability that Zui Fusheng has contacted them."

"Are there any results?" Tantai Xiaotian asked.

"No. They probably can’t lock onto his coordinates. If such a massive mobilization failed, this Zui Fusheng must truly be a terrifying bigshot. Right now, they’re probably still having headaches over it. If we can get in touch with him, wouldn’t we learn a lot more?" Tantai Xue replied.

Tantai Xiaotian paused. "Aren’t you afraid of exposing yourself to such a bigshot?"

Tantai Xue leaned back against her chair helplessly. Resting her folded hands on her stomach, she looked up at the fragmented light filtering down from above. "That would indeed be a bit troublesome. It would be much safer if we could find a representative, but a representative like that isn’t easy to find."

Hearing this, Tantai Xiaotian suddenly said, "There is one."

Tantai Xue looked puzzled.

Tantai Xiaotian continued, "Someone who will get things done as long as he’s paid with Spiritual Sources."

"Jiang Man?" Tantai Xue immediately asked.

Everyone could find out his identity as the Ling Hua Immortal Spirit’s Messenger, yet he remained the Messenger anyway. Not only that, but he had a wide network of connections and knew a thing or two about everything. More importantly, he could launder Spiritual Sources. He could even trade using moles. Besides that, he had a good reputation.

So far, as long as they gave him Spiritual Sources, there was nothing he couldn’t get done. He found the Immortal Dao Coordinate the moment he said he would. He was still looking to buy more. He was bold, meticulous, and had excellent credibility.

"We can give it a try," Tantai Xue said, standing up with evident excitement. Then she asked, "But how do we convince him?"

Tantai Xiaotian asked flatly, "What is the essence of being a middleman?"

"Knowing the transaction details and secret information? And as long as it doesn’t affect either party, he can sell it?" Tantai Xue immediately replied.

Thinking of this, she felt it was entirely feasible. The only uncertainty right now was whether he could actually connect with Zui Fusheng. Furthermore, it remained to be seen if Zui Fusheng would even think highly enough of Jiang Man to deal with him.

The next day.

While Jiang Man was in the middle of Cultivation, a message arrived from the Ling Hua Immortal Spirit.

The moment he saw the message, Jiang Man was stunned.

The Old Yellow Ox asked curiously, "Any news?"

"No news, but I did discover something absurd," Jiang Man explained as he looked at the Old Yellow Ox. "The other party wants me to act as a middleman and help her get in touch with Zui Fusheng."

The Old Yellow Ox then asked, "Are you going to refuse?"

Jiang Man shook his head. "I’m going to agree. Passing on a message pays ten thousand Spiritual Sources. On top of that, as long as it doesn’t affect anything, I can resell the contents of their transactions. Occasionally, I can even share Evil God moles."

Jiang Man sighed deeply. "There really are still plenty of good people out there. Now, the only thing missing is how to formally establish contact with Zui Fusheng, and that will depend on the Zhenyue Bureau."
