Chapter 625: Chapter 339: Encountering the Bai Family Ancestor While Shopping with Ji Meng

Luo Mansion.

Luo Huaili sat in the seat of honor in the main hall, a sudden wave of emotion washing over him. So many things had happened recently, leaving his mind in turmoil. The Luo Family had survived their calamity, but ultimately, they had relied on the Gao Family. He didn’t feel any shame about this. The Gao Family had given them ample benefits while asking for very little in return. That was the only thing that made them uneasy—they had asked for far too little. It was so little that it made one panic, always leaving them with the feeling that they owed something. But he couldn’t predict the future, and their current situation was already quite good.

Therefore, their priority was to focus on nurturing the next generation so that new blood could prop up the Luo Family. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that the current Luo Family was relying solely on Luo Xuan.

However, some time ago, Luo Xuan had told him that the family might be welcoming a turning point. He felt that his daughter had grown up and was even starting to speak in riddles. He hadn’t asked too many questions, silently waiting for this turning point to arrive. Unfortunately, months had passed, and the turning point had never appeared. He had eventually put the matter out of his mind.

Just as he decided not to dwell on it anymore, a servant came in to report that someone was asking for him outside. Moreover, it was a man he had never seen before. This surprised Luo Huaili, but he still allowed the person to enter.

Soon, a voice came from outside the hall. "Huaili, you’re looking more and more like a Patriarch."

The voice was calm and carried a hint of a smile. But to Luo Huaili’s ears, it was deafening and shocking. He looked up abruptly and saw a middle-aged man. The man bore some resemblance to him, and their blood relation was evident in his features. As the man stood there, his aura was as deep and steady as an abyss, giving off an unfathomable feeling.

"Luo Jian?" Luo Huaili stood up violently, his voice trembling slightly. "Why are you back?"

Saying this, he immediately glanced left and right, then quickly walked up to Luo Jian and lowered his voice. "People from the Sect could appear here at any time. Leave quickly before you’re discovered." He reached out, intending to pull Luo Jian away.

Luo Huaili’s reaction took Luo Jian by surprise.

"Do you know where I’ve been all these years?" Luo Jian asked, pressing down on the other’s hand to calm him.

Hearing this, Luo Huaili shook his head. "I’ve only heard rumors. I don’t know the details."

Luo Jian sat down, his expression calm. "Then didn’t you hear that I might come back?"

Luo Huaili paused. "I did hear that there would be changes in the family. So it was referring to you, Jian?"

Luo Jian looked puzzled. "You actually knew?"

"My daughter is in the Sect. She heard it from some people she knows," Luo Huaili explained.

"Which daughter?" Luo Jian asked.

"Luo Xuan." Luo Huaili then immediately urged, "Let’s talk while we leave."

However, Luo Jian held him down, his tone steady. "I returned with a normal identity; there’s no problem at all. How have the people of the Luo Family been faring? Regardless, things will be easier for you from now on." He paused for a moment before continuing, "You no longer need to worry too much about the Fang Family and the Li Family."

Luo Huaili was stunned for a moment.

He wondered, "No need to worry about the Fang Family or the Li Family? Does that mean a Primordial Spirit?"

Afterward, Luo Jian explained most of the situation to Luo Huaili. The conclusion was that the Luo Family now had a Primordial Spirit Great Power. They no longer needed to live under someone else’s roof like before.

"Luo Xuan isn’t a Sect Disciple. By staying there, is she supposed to marry the youngest son of the Gao Family?" Luo Jian asked.

Luo Huaili shook his head. "Their relationship hasn’t reached that stage yet."

"She has indeed suffered," Luo Jian said after a moment of silence. "Go ask her if she wants to come with me to the Lingyue Sect. Given her age and Cultivation, she qualifies to enter. If she achieves Core Formation, she can even try to take the Wuyun Sect’s assessment. As long as she passes, she can enter the Wuyun Sect’s Inner Sect. With my guidance, she’ll have a fighting chance."

Luo Jian looked at Luo Huaili and continued, "As for the Gao Family, I will personally pay them a visit. I imagine they won’t refuse. Besides, those two truly don’t have any deeper ties. The Luo Family won’t be considered treacherous. You don’t need to carry any mental burden. Luo Xuan will just be going away for further studies, and in a few years, she will return to the Sect. Let her go so she can meet a better version of herself."

Luo Huaili sighed. "I’ll inform her and see what her wishes are."

"Alright," Luo Jian nodded. "Let’s see what she thinks."

Normally speaking, leaving with him would be the best choice. At the very least, with his protection in the future, her path would not only be easier but also more secure.

In the courtyard.

Jiang Man sat in a chair, looking at the pastries on the table. He couldn’t help but marvel, "Does Miss Ji Meng eat these things every day?"

"Mr. Jiang can come over every day, and I’ll make delicious food for you and Miss Ji Meng," Qing Dai immediately spoke up. "Otherwise, she barely eats anything when she’s alone, and it all ends up being fed to the Tengu."

Jiang Man paused for a moment, then urged Ji Meng to eat more and not waste the food. The main point was that the dog was getting off too easy. Such fine pastries were being treated as garbage by that dog. What a reckless waste of good food.

Ji Meng pondered for a moment, seemed to think of something, and finally nodded heavily. "I won’t be too wasteful in the future."

Although he didn’t know what Miss Ji Meng was planning to do, as long as she didn’t waste things, it was fine.

"Young Master Jiang wants this stone?" As she spoke, Ji Meng brought out a large stone and placed it on the ground.

The surface of the stone was densely carved with ancient runes, emitting a faint spiritual light. It was exactly the Supreme Skill from before.

"The Sect needs it," Jiang Man emphasized. "I’ll say I dug it up after reporting it, so the item belongs to the Sect."

"Then what does Young Master Jiang plan to exchange for it?" Ji Meng asked, resting her chin on one hand.

Jiang Man smiled. "A huge surprise."

Ji Meng was curious. "What kind of big surprise?"

"I can’t say just yet. You’ll need to wait a while," Jiang Man said mysteriously.

Ji Meng thought for a moment. "Are you just feeding me empty promises?"

Jiang Man put the stone away and said earnestly, "Miss Ji Meng will know later. It’s a surprise related to the stone as well."
