Chapter 561: Chapter 308: The Young Miss Went to Pick Up the Son-in-Law

(PS: I haven’t proofread this yet. It will probably be done after 1:30.)

"So you now believe there’s something fishy going on with the Bai family, and someone is using the grudge between the Bai family and the Ji family to kill you?"

Sitting under a tree fishing, Ting Fengyin looked at Jiang Man and asked curiously.

"Yes. I suspect someone is trying to instigate conflicts among the people on the list to cause chaos and drag the Immortal Sect into trouble." Holding the white fruit Ting Fengyin had given him, Jiang Man nodded. He then asked, "If that really is the case, what will the Immortal Sect do?"

After arriving, Jiang Man had recounted everything that happened in the Black Spirit Abyss. He explained how the Evil God had locked down the area, how he had manipulated the Evil God in turn, and finally, how he had broken through the blockade. The remainder of his report was about someone trying to kill him.

The most crucial detail was the very last thing: the person sent by the Bai family actually wanted him dead. This didn’t make much sense.

Eating his fruit, Ting Fengyin said nonchalantly, "Let them instigate whatever they want. What’s there to be afraid of? If they aren’t afraid of the repercussions, why should I be? Who do they think they are?"

Jiang Man fell silent for a moment. He thought, "You aren’t the ones who will die first, so of course you’re not afraid."

He was the main catalyst for this conflict, which meant they had to kill him first. He certainly couldn’t accept that. It was like saying world peace could be achieved by killing just one person—but that person happened to be him.

"Senior, do you think it’s someone from the Bai family trying to kill me?" Jiang Man decided to change the subject.

"When you kill the Bai Family Ancestor, you can ask him. You should be able to get some answers," Ting Fengyin replied. Pausing for a moment, he added, "However, the chances of it being the Bai family’s doing are low. Starting a fight brings no overall benefit to them. The only exception would be if there is a traitor hoping to use this to destroy the Bai family."

Jiang Man nodded. He also felt it wasn’t the mainstream consensus of the Bai family. But the order did indeed come from them, making it difficult to uncover the truth.

Ting Fengyin lifted his fishing rod, only to find nothing on the hook. He lowered the line back into the water before saying, "Now that you know you might be someone’s hunting target, how do you expect me to help you?"

Hearing this, Jiang Man asked curiously, "Can you help me find the mastermind behind the scenes, Senior?"

"No. Don’t count on me for trivial matters like this. You’d be better off relying on the Ji family," Ting Fengyin said.

Jiang Man felt that made sense. If even the appearance of the Immeasurable Calamity Stone couldn’t alarm Ting Fengyin, this matter definitely wouldn’t either. After all, the situation hadn’t escalated to that level yet. And even if it did, the Immortal Sect would step in to mediate. It was still a long way from requiring Ting Fengyin to take action.

"Then, Senior, can you help me restrain the Abyssal Evil God?" Jiang Man asked. He was naturally referring to Mu Kong.

"Where is he right now?" Ting Fengyin asked.

Jiang Man pondered for a moment. "He was taken away by people from a Sect, but I’m not sure which one exactly. We need to look at the source of the incident."

"Then it’s likely the Wuyun Sect," Ting Fengyin explained. "Because Zui Fusheng appeared in the Wuyun Sect, the people from the Zhenyue Bureau will naturally prioritize the meritorious Zui Fusheng.

"If you want the help of an Evil God, the best method is to kill him and bind him directly to a specific location.

"But you need him to be mobile, right?"

Jiang Man nodded. "Yes. If he can travel to various places, then I can go anywhere. Otherwise, wherever I am, Zui Fusheng will be. It would be too easy to get exposed."

"Normally speaking, a regular Evil God cannot be recruited." Ting Fengyin thought for a moment before adding, "An Evil God is an Evil God. Their path runs completely counter to that of the Immortal Sect.

"All Evil Gods should be killed. There is no such thing as integrating them into the Immortal Sect."

Jiang Man wondered what exactly the difference was then.

Ting Fengyin smiled mysteriously. "Curious? Then be a little more diligent and focus on raising your Cultivation first. Right now, you’re just slacking off year after year."

Jiang Man fell silent. He then asked how he could make Mu Kong work for him and restrain his power.

"Help him form an avatar," Ting Fengyin said. "The main body must be supervised; it’s impossible to let him move around freely. Every Evil God poses a certain level of threat. Letting them roam free could spell disaster.

"However, his avatar can be given relative freedom. As for what kind of avatar, that depends on you. Do you want to condense the avatar for him yourself, or should I notify someone to do it?

"The difference is that with the former, you can control it freely, while with the latter, it will be in the hands of the Immortal Sect. I suggest you do it yourself."

Jiang Man was silent for a long time. He wondered if the cost of creating an avatar would be high. If it was too high, he would forget about it. Yet, he felt that he really needed to do it himself, as it was the only way to maintain secrecy.

After a brief hesitation, Jiang Man asked, "If I’m to condense an avatar for him, what should I do?"

"There are three steps. First, gather all the necessary materials. Second, cultivate the fourth volume of the Evil God’s Technique. The fourth volume utilizes the properties of the second volume to pull over a portion of the Evil God’s Divine Thought and bind it with a seal." Ting Fengyin handed his fishing rod to Jiang Man and continued, "The third step is condensing the avatar itself. You just need to use an Array for that. I’ll teach it to you in a bit."

"Senior, why didn’t you teach me the fourth volume before?" Jiang Man asked curiously as he took the fishing rod.

"I didn’t know you had this kind of need, so I hadn’t made it up yet," Ting Fengyin replied as he reached up to pluck a few fruits.

Jiang Man fell silent. He thought, "So the Evil God’s Technique was just made up on the spot?"

"Then, if needed, could there be a fifth and sixth volume?" Jiang Man asked.

Ting Fengyin shook his head. "Your way of thinking is flawed. As an Unparalleled Celestial Pride, the mindset you should possess is that in the future, you will no longer need the fourth, third, second, or first volumes.

"Not whether there will be a fifth or sixth volume."

Jiang Man fell silent once again.

Ting Fengyin took the fishing rod back. "Do you have any other requests besides this? Tell me all of them at once."

Jiang Man brought up the issue with teleportation. The casting time was too long.

Ting Fengyin nodded casually. "No problem. I will modify the second volume specifically for Abyssal traits. However, no matter how I alter it, its fundamental nature cannot be changed. That is, if the space is locked down, you might still not be able to get out."
