Chapter 67: Chapter 67: Our Princess Consort Really Loves Climbing Walls
Feng Qing heard the words spoken by the person outside the wall and felt as if struck by lightning, her whole being was blown to pieces, inside and out.
She slowly and tremblingly looked down towards the base of the wall and saw a few people staring at her from the edge of the Regent Prince Mansion’s outer wall. The man at the forefront had a cold gaze as deep as an abyss, while the two people behind him had wide-eyed looks of disbelief.
Feng Qing stiffened her hand and slowly raised it: "What a coincidence, Prince."
Rong Ling’s eyes were cold and fierce as he curled his lips: "Indeed, it’s a coincidence. It seems our Princess Consort likes climbing walls the most."
Feng Qing felt chills down her spine and then sheepishly took a step back, swiftly jumping onto the tree within the wall and sliding down.
This was almost an instinctive action, but unfortunately, Rong Ling’s cold and sombre voice without any humility was transmitted inside from outside the wall.
"Bring her to me."
Inside the wall, Feng Qing had just slid to the ground when two dark figures emerged from a corner of the Prince Mansion and landed in front of Feng Qing: "Princess Consort, please."
Feng Qing’s face turned ashen as she turned to look at the two guards, knowing this time she was bound to be out of luck.
She thought about how she hadn’t encountered any good things since she transmigrated here. The more she thought, the more she felt aggrieved, and finally she raised her head and looked straight at the two guards, saying: "Lead the way ahead."
Isn’t it just death? Dead is dead. Maybe after dying, she could return.
Though it’s unlikely, it’s not against the law to think.
Feng Qing, with a face full of noble fearlessness, followed the guards into a Pavilion of Eight Treasures in Rong Ling’s front courtyard.
At this moment, three people in the pavilion were drinking wine. As soon as Feng Qing entered, all their actions paused.
Prince Qin Rong Jia, full of curiosity, got up and wandered over to Feng Qing’s side, clicking his tongue in wonder.
"Little Aunt, you really impress me. You actually want to escape the Regent Prince Mansion. Come, come, tell me what you were thinking. Do you know how many women want to marry into the Regent Prince Mansion, to marry our family’s Little Uncle? And you actually want to escape."
Feng Qing raised her head to look at the sky, ignoring Rong Jia.
In the center of the Pavilion of Eight Treasures, Rong Ling looked at Feng Qing with cold, deep eyes and asked: "Why did you escape?"
Feng Qing said nothing, Rong Ling’s eyes turned dark, and he leisurely reached for a cup of wine on the table, lightly swirling it.
The glass lamps in the Pavilion of Eight Treasures emitted a clean and pure light, which shone upon his face, making it even more delicate, yet his eyes were full of coldness, and even the words he spoke carried this chill.
"You fled because what you said to me earlier was false. Marquis Jing’an did not suggest to the Emperor to poison me."
If this matter were true, Rong Ling should breathe a sigh of relief, at least the Little Emperor doesn’t intend to harm him.
But as soon as he thought that if this were the case, this woman deceived him again, he became extremely angry.
As soon as Feng Qing heard Rong Ling’s words, she immediately denied it.
If she confessed to it, she would not have a peaceful death.
Could it be that she’d truly be crushed into pieces and soaked in a wine jar? Just the thought made Feng Qing shudder, so she resolutely declared: "No, I did not deceive you about this matter."
"Then why did you run?"
Rong Ling’s cold and icy voice carried no warmth whatsoever.
Feng Qing’s face was pale as she replied: "Though I heard those words, I can’t guarantee if the Emperor would act within ten days. He naturally fears the Prince, how could he hastily poison the Prince within ten days? The Prince’s actions are nothing more than a ploy to get me killed, so why shouldn’t I escape."
After Feng Qing finished speaking, Rong Ling said nothing, while Rong Jia and Rong Yifeng on one side curiously spoke: "What do you mean."
"Yes, what’s all this talk about poison."
