Chapter 335: Secret Prison, Part 2

A surge of shock from the discovery washed over him, but his expression remained perfectly calm. He reached out and grabbed the Little Lamb Girl, stopping her from rushing forward.

He silently invoked Code 01, and his body, along with the Little Lamb Girl, instantly vanished into the shadows.

According to the information Wei Lan had provided, Camel Ridge was supposed to be guarded by Wei Ya. But Wei Ya was currently outside the city, fighting with Skinning Manor.

Still, he had to be cautious in case other experts were stationed here.

Sure enough, just as Han Su pulled the Little Lamb Girl aside, several beams of light crisscrossed, sweeping over their position. As the two beams drew closer, he saw they came from two figures in protective suits holding flashlights.

The flashlights in their hands were exceptionally bright. Wherever they pointed, it was like daylight, the beams easily piercing through the darkness that saturated the area.

“What’s going on? I felt the prison entrance open.”

The person who rushed over sounded tense. “Don’t tell me something escaped, did it?”

Han Su was standing right beside them with the Little Lamb Girl, but when they scanned the area, they saw nothing.

The other person whispered, “Just got word. Something’s attacking the reality defensive line outside. The impact must have been so strong it affected the secret prison’s structure…”

The first one said immediately, “Let’s go, let’s go, back to our posts. Dammit, when I signed up to be a prison guard, who the hell knew it’d be *this* kind of prison guard?”

“I’ve been working here for over a year, and I’m still terrified…”

“…”

“…”

‘The security at this secret prison seems pretty average…’

Han Su watched the two of them walk away, complaining silently to himself. He then led the Little Lamb Girl deeper into the facility, step by step.

At first glance, it looked like an ordinary residential area. He couldn’t see anything out of the ordinary. The buildings on both sides had lights on, and some doors were ajar, suggesting many people lived here…

…or perhaps, not people?

But at the very least, nothing was visible on the surface.

After staying here for a while, even the sense of unreality began to fade, making one almost forget they weren’t in the real world.

‘This isn’t the right way to search…’

Han Su frowned slightly.

Secret prisons weren’t places where you just locked abnormalities in a cage, gave them one meal a day, and let them out for yard time once in a while.

These secret prisons often doubled as facilities for observation and research. Therefore, the abnormalities were given a certain amount of space to move around in. Sometimes, a completely illusory living environment was constructed for them, making them feel as if they were living in a fantasy, allowing them to express their true nature.

The secret prison over at Qinggang, for instance, was an entire section of the ocean. The inhabitants were even allowed to build their own towns and create their own culture.

And Mr. Moses, the one in charge of guarding that sea region, would sometimes even attend the mating festivals of that group of Sea Beasts, just like a visiting guest. The only problem was that each time, he had to refuse the advances of many gentle Dugongs.

SCREECH…

Just as Han Su was lost in thought, the Little Lamb Girl suddenly stopped in her tracks as if she had heard something.

She even spun around and began pushing him back with all her might.

Han Su moved the hand holding the suitcase forward to shield her thin back, then his free left hand shot up and grabbed.

He grabbed a lamppost standing next to them.

This secret prison was filled with these slender lampposts, which lined both sides of the road and cast a faint, dim yellow glow.

Han Su had noticed them when he first entered. Besides providing light, they had seemed completely normal.

But he never expected that one of the lampposts on the roadside was actually a monster in disguise. It had a slender body and a head shaped like a lampshade. Sensing their approach, it suddenly lowered its head, its lanky body bending down as it tilted its head slightly.

It had no face. Or rather, its face *was* a lightbulb.

It lunged forward, stopping right in front of Han Su and the Little Lamb Girl, and its light suddenly dimmed.

But the light didn’t go out. Instead, the dim yellow glow, like a living creature, suddenly slithered out from inside the bulb and shot through Han Su’s eyes, trying to worm its way into his body.

The Little Lamb Girl seemed extremely familiar with this type of monster and frantically tried to push Han Su back. But Han Su had already detected the creature. While shielding the Little Lamb Girl, his left hand had already shot out and clamped down on the slender neck behind the lampshade head.

With a sharp SNAP, he broke its neck. Still, he could feel a living mass trying to burrow into his mind—it was the bizarre light emanating from the lampshade.

The light itself was a lifeform, and its power to pollute was absolutely terrifying.

The moment his eyes perceived the light, it had already begun to bore into his head.

But it came quickly, and it left just as quickly.

Before Han Su could even deal with it, the Emperor’s Book had already taken effect.

It was digested in an instant, and the book presented him with the relevant data:

[Lamppost Head: Beast Level]

[A twisted and grotesque creature with a slender body and a head like a lamppost. It is accustomed to standing alone in the desolate, dead-silent nights of the radiation era, by the side of weed-choked roads, pretending that civilization still exists.]

[Confirmed to be an abnormal, light-based lifeform. It can detach from its main body to hunt and pollute any living creature it gazes upon.]

[Living creatures polluted by it will undergo the same mutation, their bodies becoming gaunt and elongated, growing a lamppost-like head. They will then stand by the roadside with it, playing their part in this afterglow of civilization.]

[Related species of the same order include Siren Head, Chainsaw Head, House Head, etc.]

[Analysis suggests this type of monster is born from the nostalgia of the deceased for civilization. It possesses civilized traits but lacks the potential to establish a civilization of its own.]
