Chapter 2286: The Unleashed Destruction

  • Next Chapter

As Arad’s power faced away and Nyar’s abominations carried him away, his consciousness faded away as his body weakened and was forced to start the evolution process.

He didn’t want to fall asleep, but his body pushed forward. He couldn’t evolve now; Nyar was out there with Vorvadoss, a danger that must be eliminated. His wives are in danger; his universe is in danger... this isn’t something that he should easily forget about and fall asleep.

[It’s okay. Fall asleep.] A voice whispered inside his mind, and Arad recognized it as his own, his thoughts.

^No, no, no. I can’t fall asleep. If I get captured now, this entire universe will end.^

[Why bother? You can always make a new one. With everyone that died as well.]

^That isn’t it; they won’t be the same. I don’t want copies; I want the ones living now to survive.^

[Saving this universe is difficult, inefficient, and not worth the trouble.]

^Then why are we even fighting? Couldn’t we have just moved long ago?^

[Because people are attached to it, they can’t simply move. It’s not like changing houses.]

^Are we out of option, no matter what power we have, only death awaits...^

[Death means nothing. Is talking with yourself like this driving you mad?]

^If Death means nothing, than do something!^

[Fine, go to sleep. I’ll erase them all, to nothing]

As Arad’s consciousness fell asleep, his entire presence changed in a split second.

He could feel the abominations dragging him away, his energy level was nearing zero, and his body was already crumbling to start evolving. He had nothing, and that was more than he needed.

He had already planned for this; it was one of the reasons he separated his power and spread it out.

Pulling the END earlier was good enough, but a wrong decision. The END’s power isn’t suited for this fight, and the END had been rusting away in the Shadow Realm for eons, so Arad should’ve pulled something else, something he is far more familiar with instead.

Destruction.

Arad didn’t need to summon Kali herself; he didn’t need to summon her as a spear; he just needed her power, and he was going to take it, take back what was once his.

Arad’s eyes moved. "You there..." He looked at the ugly abomination carrying him. The bastard looked a bit human, with long black hair, green skin, red eyes, and a body built like a tank... "... put me down."

How dare this ugly abomination touch, no, carry him. No one touches him unless he allows them to touch him, except his wives... he’ll only forgive this abomination once, and not a single other time.

"Hut?" The abomination grabbed Arad by the hair, lifted his head up a bit, and looked directly into his eyes. All that Arad could see was an ugly face, and smell a rancid breath.

"Do you realize the situation you’re now in? You think you have any say in this?" The abomination growled, and Arad could feel his acidic spit splashing on his face. That was it.

This one has to go. His very atoms shall evaporate out of existence and turn back into nothing.

Matter is trapped light, pure energy looping on itself. Like a whirlpool maintaining its shape, the same could be said about matter. Light is ripples in the fabric of space and time, and when that ripples loops on itself, it gains rigidity and consistency turning into primal particles than can later turn into atoms, molecules, and the visible matter.

That’s why light is released when atoms shatter or are crushed. The light that was already trapped in them is getting freed, and Arad now did just that.

The abomination didn’t end; he didn’t die. He didn’t get murdered. By Arad’s will, he simply decoupled his existence.

"If you’re only going to obey, then disappear back into nothing."

Everything that Arad was looking at was erased; the abomination’s head and everything behind him just vanished, turning into pure energy that he absorbed instantly.

As the other abominations dropped Arad down, horrified, one of them mumbled. "What... was that?" And Nyar was slowly turned around in the back, horrified even more than his abominations were.

"Abominations, Gods, Angels, and Nyar... what a charade. Is this what you all call war?" As Arad laughed on the ground, Nyar immediately freaked out. He swung his scythe and sent a massive spatial rift toward Arad, teleporting him as far away as possible.

Arad now found himself almost on the other side of the universe, alone. So he stood, still hunched as his body shrank and grew weaker by the second. He lifted his palm and fired a pale beam into the horizon, destroying massive chunks of the universe’s crust, turning them into energy, and absorbing them.

After getting enough energy, he teleported back immediately to where he was before. As Nyar saw him return in less than five seconds, he freaked out, firing a massive burst of eldritch magic, trying to incapacitate him, but all that explosion, which almost wiped half the battlefield, did was tear Arad’s clothes.

"You cannot destroy destruction, fool." Arad spoke in a deep voice that didn’t match his now-young look. He lifted his hand, and a beam of white light burst from it. He swept the beam across the entire battlefield, aiming to wipe out all of Nyar’s abominations at once, and sadly, the angels and archons were about to get caught in the mix.

Stars appeared across the entire battlefield; they were small, apple-sized, and bright white, but they got in the beam’s way, protecting the angels and getting erased in their place. Amaterasu, who had just finished the fight between Gojo and the other avatars, growled as her left arm burned and disappeared into nothingness.

She growled in pain, and glared down at Arad. "DON’T KILL MY ANGELS AS WELL!"

"This is Destruction." Arad replied in a calm voice, "I make nothing, I spare nothing, I care about nothing. I just erase..." He teleported right to Nyar’s face and extended his palm into his face.

"AO..." Nyar growled, and Arad spoke in response with a cold tone.

"Disappear."

With that word, Nyar’s upper torso exploded into nothing, leaving his tentacles wiggling on the ground for a second before they turned into ash. Vorvadoss had already bolted out when Nyar teleported Arad away, so he was nowhere nearby, and chasing him would waste too much energy, so Arad didn’t chase him.

Instead, Arad’s aim now shifted toward the one person who had addressed him, Amaterasu. There were no abominations left for him to destroy after all.

"For you." Arad appeared right in front of her, extending his hand forward with a compressed ball of pure light and energy. In its entirety, it contained all of the energy that the avatars were here had, and all of their abominations, alongside the energy that he got from the universe’s crust; it even contained all of the energy from her stars that Arad destroyed earlier.

"This is..." She gasped, and Arad just released the ball of energy at her, forcing her to immediately absorb it. That was probably excess energy that his body won’t be able to handle when evolving, so he was dumping it all on Amaterasu to absorb and use, which was horrifying as in total, this won’t just refund the energy she lost earlier, but even give her a net positive of around 30% of her total power.

It was as if she absorbed all of the avatars who were here and the abominations and perfectly turned them into energy.

This was destruction, the primal concept that turns everything back into pure energy. Not even Kali herself could push destruction this far, and this was AO using Arad’s weakened body...

When Amaterasu absorbed the ball of energy, Arad was already unconscious on the ground, so she engulfed him within a black hole to allow him to evolve in peace.
