Chapter 2032: The Divine Purple Sun of Murder
“This might be the best dress I’ve made so far.” Merida opened a massive closet, and from it she pulled a ceremonial white dress that was between a wedding dress and a banquet dress. It had a tight torso with open shoulders, but a large and puffy skirt decorated by pale white feathers and strands of purple gold, courtesy of Isabelle’s handiwork.
“It is made from pale Demon Spider’s silk that we imported from the abyss, the feathers of angels, and everything is sewn together using threads made from my fungal mycelium. But that isn’t all… The purple gold had been melted and fused with her divine magic, and to hold her chest up, I made a semi-bra from Arad’s scales.” Merida showed the dress to Aella, “And, just to finish it up, I made this.”
From the closet, she produced a massive cloak made of butterfly wings, thousands of them all sewn together in what could only be described as a horrifying, macabre creation. “I know they look sewn together, but they aren’t. Look.”
All of the butterflies moved, flapping their wings as they spread out and got into a formation that resembled a pair of massive butterfly wings. “Eris got them, so each of those butterflies, even though they look normal, is at least an A-rank monster.”
“Aren’t you going a bit too far? I doubt Eris would wear this.” Aella gave the dress a dubious look, “Which angel did you skin for the feathers?”
“Every angel in Eris’s rank donated some of their feathers to make the skirt. Don’t worry, you won’t see any bad angel flying around.” Merida hung the dress and sat on her chair.
“What about the shoes and gloves? You know she is a half-elf.” Merida giggled, “I know, we gotta cover them a bit… But don’t worry, Eris got that sorted herself.”
“Got them sorted? Don’t tell me she is going out with her leather boots? I know she loves that pair, but they aren’t for such an occasion.” Aella rubbed her eyes. “Besides, she was never good at picking clothes.”
At that moment, Eris and Arad teleported into the workshop, and they landed right between Merida and Aella. “ARAD!” Merida jumped at him, and Aella stood. “You finally came.”
“Yeah, is the dress ready?” Eris looked around, saw that Merida was busy kissing Arad, so she turned to Aella. “It is, but it looks a bit over the top. Besides, we still don’t have any shoes or gloves for you.”
Eris looked at the dress with Aella and smiled. “Well, look at that.” She quickly turned toward Merida. “You made it just as fancy as I asked.” Merida was still kissing Arad, and so Eris quickly gasped, “You still going at it?”
As their lips slowly parted, Merida threw a smug glance at Eris. “I would’ve loved for it to last longer.” She then pointed at the dress. “Try and see if it fits.”
“I don’t even need to try it.” Eris smiled as she reached forward and took the dress into her hands. “I can tell at a glance that it would fit perfectly. With each dress you make, your skills are getting better and better.”
Merida sat on Arad’s lap and smiled. “Well, Isabelle is a good teacher. Her skills with the needle are far superior to anyone else. Her speed, eye for sizes, and accuracy are just terrifying.”
“She has been a tailor for far longer.” Eris unbuttoned her leather cloak, and two angels appeared behind her. “You called us?”
“I can’t reach behind my back.” She pointed at her back, and the two angels started helping her undress. They started with the tight armored jacket she wore right beneath her cloak, and took that off. While Eris didn’t need to wear armor at her current power, she still did just out of habit.
When they took her jacked off, it was the time to take off her gambeson to free her chest, but to do that, they needed to first take her pants off, and open the belts holding the gambeson to her thighs.
The armor Eris wore wasn’t common at all, but a really special one that was only deployed in Rita, and it was made for smugglers and contraband traders. Eris bought it at the time because it was the cheapest and most reliable suit of armor, with the only problem being the awkwardness of wearing and taking it off.
After taking Eris’s armored boots off, the two angels pulled Eris’s pants off, and then they took the belts off that tied the gambeson to just above her knees, and then pulled the entire thing up and over her head, finally freeing the lower layers.
Well, that wasn’t the end of it, as she just kept unravelling like an artichoke, beneath all of that, Eris still wore a full body suit of orichalcum chainmail over hardened leather, which was a pain to pull off her body.
But just when the angels thought they were done, they found Eris still wearing another skin-tight body suit beneath the one they just took off, and this one was made of silk and enchanted with several barriers that blocked slashing, piercing, and bludgeoning damage.
“Your Divinity…” One of the angels looked up at Eris’s face. “You know… You don’t need all those. You’re a goddess, so you won’t even be harmed if you were to get punched by Arad.”
Eris laughed. “I understand what you mean. I’m far too durable now that I don’t need armor.” She then glared down at the angel who asked. “But… I’ll let you know this. I’m certain that I won’t survive a hit from Arad unscathed.”
The angel looked between Arad and Eris, and then spoke again. “Your sun is hundreds of times wider than the mortal world. He can evaporate an entire sea with a single punch, that still won’t harm you.”
Eris smiled, “Then how about a bet? I’ll fight him soon, so want to risk it?”
The angel froze, threw a glance at Arad, and then struggled to answer. To her luck, Merida butted in. “Don’t make that bed. It is true that Arad can punch an ocean out, but that isn’t the limit of what he can pull off.” She then smiled, “I talked with Diana earlier, and she told me about a fight that Arad had with Kali’s archons… One punch and beings at the level of an archon would shit themselves.”
Aella added with a smile. “If all of you angels were to band together and fight alongside Eris, I’m almost certain Arad would give you the scariest fight you’ve ever had.”
The angels silently went back to helping Eris, and now that they took off her inner layers of armor, they quickly managed to strip her down. “How do you even take those normally?” The other angel asked, and Eris pointed at Arad. “Go to him, he’ll show you how. Ah, he’ll strip you naked, so bear that in mind.”
The angel stood with a grin on her face as she approached Arad. “This white robe is a part of my divinity; you can’t take it off easily.”
Arad simply poked her, and her robe disappeared into nothing. The angel froze for a second, touched her body as she felt the breeze, and then cried. “What!? Where did it go?!”
“I sucked it into my stomach.” Arad pulled the robe out. “As long as I touch it, I can pretty much teleport anything to my stomach, as long as it fits in my range and isn’t willed into place by a higher power.”
Then, as easily as he stripped her, Arad teleported the dress back to her body, and it appeared immediately on her skin. Eris leaned on the angel’s back with a smug grin on her face. “It goes beyond just clothes. If you’re sufficiently weaker than him, he can strip your skin off your flesh, or even your organs and bones with a simple touch.”
Merida pointed at the dress in the back. “Eris, stop playing and try it. We don’t have much time, and if it doesn’t fit, I won’t have time to fix it if you keep talking.”
Eris shrugged and went back to her new dress, and in minutes, she wore it without a problem. As expected of Merida’s skills, the dress fit her like a glove, and it looked fantastic, only lacking one final touch.
Looking at her bare hands and feet, Eris smiled. “Well, I can’t leave those out in front of all the elves.” She looked at Aella, and she nodded. “Yeah, I bet you millions of elves are here just to see your hands and feet.”
“You’re right, those are only for us.” She took a stance, and plasma burned around her whole body. Thigh-high boots of compressed purple plasma covered her legs, and armored gauntlets that reached her shoulders formed on her arms. The purple gold on her dress burst into purple fire, and the butterflies on her back radiated with divine power.
As a divine crown that resembled the rings of a planet appeared on her head, she approached Arad and knelt down. “My Emperor, Queen Eris, the Divine Purple Sun of Murder, is at your service.”
