The dragon's harem

Chapter 1873: Sneak Attack

Chapter 1873: Sneak Attack

It happened so fast that no one was able to react in time, and the moment Selina’s body hit the ground, the entire place exploded into violence. The ground cracked, ice exploded, and blood painted the peak red.

The entire clash only lasted five seconds, but in that short time, everyone got pushed beyond their limit. The first to move was Gamond, and her eyes glared at the direction the shot came from with such malice and rage that the people in the city below felt her bloodlust and almost fainted.

The temperature around the whole world dropped by two degrees as a massive glacier of ice appeared out of nowhere, fifty kilometers away from the capital. And the monster who shot Selina, a strange bug-man looking horror, was faced with an accelerating claw of pure cold to the face.

In a fraction of a second, before Selina, who was shot in the head, could perish, the monster who shot her was already a frozen corpse accelerating out of orbit. The hit should’ve shattered his body into a mist of blood, but Gamond’s ice was powerful enough to maintain the monster’s shape. The acceleration also caused enough friction to heat him like a meteor, but that heat wasn’t enough to melt the ice either.

A second fraction of a second later, flames burst across the air, the glacier melted, and the world’s temperature rose by five degrees. The ice that she created while killing the sniper melted, and she stood there with a raised arm, engulfed in an incinerating inferno.

Gamond is an Elder White Drakaina, and her power far outclasses most. While the cold and ice were generated from her draconic magic, the flames were only the result of her moving through the atmosphere at a harrowing speed.

[Elemental Expansion] Gamond’s eyes opened up, burning deep blue with draconic magic, and the entire world shivered.

A third fraction of a second later, Gamond had unleashed her elemental expansion, and a terrifying white dragon taller than the clouds loomed over the Great Capital of Orion. Its body was muscular, thick, and too massive to fathom. The tail alone extended for hundreds of kilometers and reached nearby towns; its head glared down at the world with cold malice, and its pure white scales radiated freezing cold.

In the fourth fraction of a second, Gamond had covered the entire world with her elemental expansion, allowing her senses to spread far and wide. Such a move was risky since it could hurt all living beings, but she didn’t care. The risk was minimal, and since one of Arad’s wives was killed in front of her, she couldn’t call herself a proper wife and an Elder Drakaina if she didn’t send the perpetrator to the lightless pits of the abyss.

She located all of the monsters surrounding the mountain and counted almost ten of them. With the sniper she killed, only nine were left. Those were a threat, but she didn’t care about them for now. What she wanted to murder was the little shit commanding them from over the horizon.

Gamond’s Elemental Expansion disappeared in the fifth fraction of a second, and all nine remaining monsters were suddenly frozen, engulfed in ice, and the excess heat she dumped into the atmosphere was already reversed.

Gamond herself was already over a hundred kilometers away, having conveniently used her massive draconic size to move. At the current moment, she stood five inches away from Poppy. The little girl was hiding in an abandoned hut north-east of Alina, preparing for the assault there and watching the mountain’s peak using her powerful vision.

One moment, she saw Selina getting shot. Getting rid of the mage early was a common tactic, and many utilized it. She was certain that the monsters’ attacks wouldn’t be able to harm Gamond or Mira, and targeting anyone else besides Selina was useless, so that was the reasoning behind the first attack. But in the next moment, the tree-foot-tall Poppy found herself staring directly at Gamond’s exposed knees.

Gamond, in her humanoid form, was a giantess standing at almost elven feet tall, over three meters. Decently muscular, and right now, she was naked as her regular clothes burned earlier, and she didn’t waste time summoning more.

Poppy smiled. She had never seen someone react so fast to an attack like this before. The rumors about Arad’s wives being absolute terrors to the world’s existence were a reality after all. She would’ve thought of something else, but now, she just didn’t have the time.

Gamond’s foot flew so fast that it was set ablaze, and her toes kissed Poppy’s face and sent her flying back at a speed so ridiculous that the little girl’s body ignited like a meteor, and caused a massive explosion when she hit the nearest mountain. The flames from all of that sadly didn’t survive, not even for a thousandth of a second, as Gamond’s ice robbed them of all their heat.

The only thing that was left was a frozen crater where a mountain once stood, and Gamond’s sole existence towering over where Poppy should’ve crashed. With a spark, bones emerged from the ground, got engulfed in flesh and blood, and Poppy was whole once more in the blink of an eye.

By this time, those at the mountain’s peak were starting to react and notice what happened. The monsters who were supposed to attack were already frozen, but some of them immediately broke free as Poppy enchanted them against cold magic. A fierce fight erupted immediately after the shot, drowning the right side of the bridge into violence.

The fastest two to react after Gamond were Mira and Matilda, who almost immediately moved. Mira grabbed Roana and Alicia to get them to safety, and Matilda froze for a second upon witnessing Selina’s head getting blown away, but immediately roared and lunged at the nearest visible monster.

The monster Matilda faced was a disgusting, gray-skinned man with an elongated torso and over a hundred arms. Those arms all moved simultaneously, but she didn’t care. She rushed right through the endless barrage of punches and smacked the ugly creature with a single punch to the guts that was powerful enough to send him flying to the nearest stone wall.

As the monster hit the mountain’s side, Matilda was already once again upon him, swinging a fist that she had never tried before. Instead of using [Void step] to move, she applied it to her own body in a way that would allow her to change her body position. This had caused her arm, which was extended far behind her back, to suddenly teleport forward to a stretched position, setting her fist already within the same space as the monster’s guts.

The rejection from her fist being in the same space as the monster’s guts, the power of her punch, the sheer speed generated from the sudden teleportation, and the very nature of the space-ripping void, all combined into a single powerful hit that roared like thunder, splitting the monster’s guts open and cracking the side of the mountain.

The monster should’ve already been dead, but Matilda was already being consumed by mindless rage. Seeing her close friend and sister-in-marriage getting killed like that had triggered both her animalistic nature and draconic rage, causing her to not punch once, but to unleash a rattling barrage of harrowing punches to violate the already dying corpse.

To a looker, Matilda’s body wasn’t moving naturally; it was teleporting in place to change its position, shifting from a pulled arm to an already delivered punch, multiple times a second. Each void dragon had a unique way of using their own void magic, and this was how Matilda’s void magic worked, at least at her current self.

A second shot came flying right toward Mira’s head, no, it was aimed at Roana and Alicia, trying to knock them both with a single shot. But since Mira saw the hit, she got in the way and got hit instead.

The shot was a compressed beam of water; it was fast, powerful, and dense. But to Mira’s divine body, the water felt like a really powerful power washer, but nothing more. It splashed from her head and barely left a dent.

The sniper was greedy; he aimed to finish two of his targets with a single shot, but that was his undoing. Mira felt that, lifted two fingers, and called him out for it. Divine light burned around the sniper, and his monstrous and ugly body burst into holy flames.

Camilla finally noticed and started to move. The soldiers followed right after her, and they were already about to be surrounded by monsters. Camilla, who expected such a situation the most, found herself one of the most powerless of them all. She saw one monster jumping at the soldiers from behind, but she was too slow to reach or even warn them.

It was then that a multitude of stone spears hit the monsters, impaling them on the mountain’s side. From the blood and dirt, Selina’s arm was extended forward with a wand in her twitching fingers, one eye closed and the other opened, bloodshot, as her brain matter slid down her silky hair.

Poppy had made one huge mistake. She didn’t know that Selina never goes out with her real body, and always sends a flesh doll.
