Chapter 1837: Finally Breaking Down
Chapter 1837: Finally Breaking Down
Ganta was a bit hesitant to jump on the bed just a few seconds ago. Aella was her dear and closest friend, and she didn’t want to stab her in the back. Even though they told her it was fine, to Ganta, things still sounded wrong.
She understood the situation well, and still couldn’t take it. When she first met Aella in the university, she was impressed by her power, speed, agility, and calmness. The two got close quickly and soon became friends.
Ganta would steal Aella’s lunch to tease her, and Aella would chase her across the tree tops with ease. After leaving her kingdom, Ganta had never found someone who could match her when swinging from one branch to another.
But it didn’t end there; both of them had a taste for anything plant-based and had equally powerful arms and shoulders, causing them to often end any wrestling match they had in a draw. But it didn’t end there. Many people had found Ganta’s large body, abundant hair, and massive horns intimidating, but to Aella, she looked like any other girl.
Whether she liked it or not, at the start, Ganta was slowly getting drawn closer and closer to Aella as they studied together, and eventually the two ended up getting close. That relationship only got deeper when one day Ganta noticed a strange whiff on Aella’s body, a strange, incense-like scent that quickly faded into nothing.
That was Arad’s smell, and even though Ganta didn’t realize that at the time, she found the smell quite appealing, like that of a nicely cooked meal.
After several fights and classes, the two were already inseparable and had formed a powerful team. Ganta takes the frontlines, draws the enemy’s attention, and plows through them, while Aella rains hell from the sky while standing far back.
It also helped a lot that Aella was far smarter and more strategically sound than Ganta, which made it possible for them to outsmart and defeat monsters that Ganta herself had never once dreamed of having a chance against.
Throughout a lot of adventures, the two had become more like close sisters than just friends, and that had lasted until Ganta finally laid her eyes on Arad, and it was then that she realized why Aella matched so well with her.
Arad was just like her. Huge in size, rough, and probably had the same primal fighting style. She wanted to get close to him, but something itched in the back of her head. She knew he and Aella were close, and when she learned that the two were married, she found herself facing a huge wall.
That was her friend’s husband; she couldn’t just approach him, especially not in a romantic way. If he weren’t already married to Aella, she would’ve thrown herself at him at first sight. She had left her home looking for power, education, political influence, and a husband, someone who matches her size, power, and big ambitions.
Arad was all that she asked for, a large, calm, and gentle man who could definitely get violent and primal if the need arose. What her people valued was the duality and contrast; they loved someone who looks weak, but is strong, someone who looks calm and reserved, but still can fight, someone who looks massive, rough, and rugged, yet has a heart of gold and is a loving, gentle soul.
Arad was already bigger than her humanoid form, and she had seen him fight in the entrance exam, so she knew he could slap a few of the silverbacks in her kingdom with ease. The only thing getting between her and this love-filled, dream-like of hers was that he was already married to her best friend Aella.
If Aella was a stranger to her, she could’ve still thrown her shot and tried to steal him from her, but now, Ganta had decided to pull back. She won’t touch the husband of her best friend, no matter how much she wanted him.
Then one thing led to another, until the current time. In the end, Ganta had gotten her wish and was now on Arad’s bed with her legs wide open, waiting for it. Aella watched from the side, having finally allowed her in with Arad.
But it still didn’t feel right. Not because Aella hated it, she didn’t. It was all because Ganta couldn’t calm down, faced by Arad and watched by her best friend, her nervousness quickly turned into worry, then into stress, which she masked by excessive enthusiasm and boldness.
As Arad pushed it inside her, she realized that the day she dreamt about had arrived. She was finally married, and not just to anybody, but to a powerful, gentle, and caring man, a dragon on top of it all, and an emperor with more influence and political power than any king in the mortal world.
She tightened her legs around his waist and pulled him to push deeper inside her. Like many of Arad’s wives, she had just felt something strange, a sense of peace and calmness between his arms. This world was cruel and unforgiving; each day, the people had to fear for their lives and hid inside walled cities. Monsters ran rampant, and the people were just as prone to killing each other.
But now, beneath Arad, she had nothing to worry about. He can protect her from everything and anything. Even earlier, he had just taken on the entire burden of her falling empire.
So, what was her problem, really? The one thing Ganta suffered from was the lack of problems, the lack of a negative reaction when she came back with a mountain-sized bill. She had expected Arad, or at least some of his wives, to berate her, be angry, and not take what she had done lightly.
How did she only end up with a warning, not even a slap on the wrist? Was Arad this gentle? Is he hiding his anger? Or are the other wives planning something behind her back? She knew Aella well, so she wasn’t worried about her, but Ganta didn’t know much about the other wives enough to fully trust them.
With each thrust, her anxiety kept getting worse and worse. Her chest tightened, and soon, she could barely breathe as she started bawling her eyes out. Arad stopped moving, and Aella rushed to check on her.
“I don’t think I did anything wrong.” Arad looked at them, and Aella shook her head, thinking back to Zephyr’s words. “Arad, check what she is thinking about. I doubt we could get her to talk while she is crying like this.”
“Got it.” Arad rarely looked at his wives’ thoughts. He preferred to leave their privacy alone, but in this situation, it probably won’t hurt to directly understand Ganta’s problem and solve it.
He quickly frowned. “Several things. She feels guilty about doing it with me in front of you, is worried that no one got angry at her for what happened in her empire, coupled with the sadness and exhaustion from that civil war, she finally broke down. It’s best if we let her rest for a while.”
“So that’s how it is. I should’ve guessed.” Aella grabbed Ganta, lifted her with ease, and called the maids to help. “Arad, you switch to Kaede while Ganta rests, I’ll watch over her.”
