The dragon's harem

Chapter 1642: Either Life or Death

Chapter 1642: Either Life or Death

Liliana blinked. Gojo had stirred in his bed, moving ever so slightly. As his eyes opened, she looked at him with a smile. She had been waiting for him to wake up for an hour now. It seems that, unlike her, he woke up pretty quickly. But that is probably because she was healed with potions while he was healed by Yog.

“You’re finally awake. Sorry about that hit, I broke your spine, and Yog had to heal you.” She looked at him, and he sat up, rubbing his eyes. He looked to be still confused for just a second, but then his eyes cleared and his back straightened, cracking a few bones into place.

“You what?” He mumbled. “No, you’re half-demon, so you’re far stronger than the average human, and I’m a fragile high human… Reminds me of the first time we met, I did the same, didn’t I?”

He looked at her with a grin. He could remember that day as clearly as if it had happened this morning. At the time, seeing her demonic magic scared him enough that he thought she needed to be taken out immediately. He was trying to kill her, but she survived thanks to her durable demonic heritage.

Remembering that day, she shivered. The pain had long gone, but the memory still lingered in her head.

She stood and shrugged to get the shiver to stop. “The same? Are you joking?” She shook her head in dejection. “You did it on purpose that day, but it was a genuine mistake on my part today.”

“It was a mistake on my part, too. How was I supposed to know how durable you are? You looked weird and scary with that demonic magic of yours, so I used a bit more strength than I needed.”

He had just come into the world and found himself in the middle of a massive demonic seal. Gojo did fear for his life in that moment and decided to get rid of Liliana. Otherwise, he would’ve messed with her like he did the first time sneaking behind her.

He leaned back. “Large dark purple horns, purple skin, glowing eyes, and a wave of demonic mana with a large and flashy spell like that. That day, you wore a decorated choker, so I thought you were some humanoid monster those girls kept as a pet.”

She frowned. “Who are you calling a pet? Bastard. Did you even know what a pet is at the time?”

Gojo smiled. “I did, we saw a dog outside the tavern, and Vars said it’s the owner’s pet. A trained animal that is relatively safe and kept around people, albeit they have to always wear a collar to show they are pets and not wild monsters and animals to be put down.”

He sighed.

“I got confused about goblins thinking they are human children, so Vars told me that as long as it doesn’t look like an average human, it’s probably a monster. You looked pretty much like a bigger purple goblin with horns to me.” He smiled. “I was pretty much alive for just a few days then. Can you blame me?”

“Of course I can!” She then sighed. “Well, we were in a fight, so all of that doesn’t matter.” She stood and approached him with a set of clothes.

“Now, put those on, you’re butt naked. It’s been a bit more than an hour, and your brother has already gone in and taken a bath. Yog also brought one of his ladies in, but I don’t know her. She looked like a devil to me, and is blind.”

Gojo looked underneath the blanket, and he indeed had no clothes on. She took them off to check on his back. He paused for a second and then looked at her.

“That should be a devil called Haru, she is a Seer and Sara’s concubine. From what I knew, she only joined them recently and is now helping Sara control the empire’s underworld.”

He smiled.

“Since you’re here, mind helping me test something?”

She knew this look he had on his face. He wanted to test some new spells. “No.”

“Come on! It’ll be quick. Besides, it’s not a magic spell this time.” He waved his hand. “Take your clothes off and come sit here with me.”

She glared at him.

“You… we’re not doing it here, not before you take a bath at least. You stink of blood.” She took a step back.

Gojo sighed. “I know, I know… But, I promise you’ll be interested in the result.”

She kept glaring at him for a whole minute, and since he didn’t back away, she finally sighed and gave up. “Fine, but don’t put it in.”

She started taking her clothes off when he chuckled. “I might need to. Since I don’t know where it starts and where it ends.”

As she was stripping, she turned toward him. “I should’ve punched you on the head. And no, you aren’t putting it in.”

She finished stripping quite quickly and frowned, once more, the damned Yog. Those clothes were easy to take off; she must’ve predicted this. What kind of magic did she teach Gojo?

She approached the bed and sat beside him, leaning a bit too closely. “What now?” Asking with a pout, she really did want to grab him by the hair and drag him to the bath.

Gojo looked around the room for a while and frowned. “It’s not working. Come, sit on my lap.”

“I’m not.” She growled. “You stink.” But even with that, she did move closer and sit on his lap.

“This is as much as I’ll give you. What are you doing anyway?”

“You’ll see.” He looked around again, inspecting every wall, piece of furniture, and shadow as Liliana waited patiently.

“Still nothing…” He frowned, and Liliana cried. “OW! That hurt you bastard! I told you not to put it in.”

She grabbed him by the neck, and he giggled. “It worked… I found you.”

Noticing the shift in his face, Liliana pulled her hands away and looked around, trying to see what he was looking for. Without knowing it, she started moving her hips out of habit.

Gojo’s radiant blue eyes glared at his and Liliana’s shadows. “You’re there, aren’t you? Show yourself. We’re in your house, so how about you drop the rules a bit?”

Liliana looked down with him. “What are you talking about?”

But not a second later, she got her answer. A face appeared in the shadows, and soon it emerged. An aloof maid appeared from their shadows and looked at them with an emotionless stare.

“The Mother of All Life, do you watch everyone like this?” As Gojo asked, Liliana quickly pulled the bed cover to hide herself and Gojo. But even with that, she never stopped moving her hips, but instead humped faster, as if trying to finish quickly.

“Who is she? The Mother of All Life?”

Liliana knew who the Mother of All Life was. The Divine Goddess of all cubus, the mother of succubus, the origin of life, and the pulsing womb of the universe. She is what the people see as a goddess of fertility, sex, and life.

“As Death watches the end of life, I watch its birth.” She replied, approaching them. “I’m always watching, waiting, and expecting.”

Gojo chuckled. “Are all the gods like this?”

She glared at him. “Yes, Lucy too is the same, if that’s what you’re worried about. Each time someone feels the desire for consumption in excess, she is there watching. Gluttony isn’t just about food.”

Liliana interrupted them, “So? When will you leave? We’re busy here.”

The Mother of All Life looked at her. “I can see that you’re busy. I’m not leaving. I’ll stay here and watch until you two finish. You aren’t the only ones. I watch everyone and everything at all times.”

“Leave us alone!” Liliana pointed at her, and the Mother of All Life tilted her head. “If life leaves you, you’ll be dead.” She disappeared, and both of them fell dead, with Death standing at their heads, looking at the bed with a tired face.

“Fools, I’m not taking their souls. Gracie, take them back.” She disappeared into the shadows, and the two gasped back to life. “Welcome back to life. How did it feel when I left you?”

“You killed us?!” Liliana shouted at her, and the Mother of All Life shrugged. “I don’t kill; I keep people alive. Everything is juggling between my hands and Death’s hands; you can belong to one or another, never be in the middle.”
