The dragon's harem

Chapter 1458: Avoiding Awkward Situation

Chapter 1458: Avoiding Awkward Situation

The vampires and everyone else called the world inside Arad’s stomach a ’Small’ world, because it was objectively smaller than the outside world. But D found that description quite misleading; this place was by no means small. And get this, it’s growing.

While the Castle of Alina might serve as the living and breathing capital of the empire, very few knew that the actual heart, the core of the whole empire, hid safely inside the Emperor’s stomach.

Here is the place where most of the powerful spirit queens lived, where the countless vampires trained, and organized their operation. This is where the countless war mages of Ruris’s empire were testing their spells. D had even seen several angels flying around, taking care of whatever business the Mira and Eris churches needed.

Most of Arad’s hoard was hidden here; the kingdom’s whole wealth was also stored here in vaults and guarded by the harrowing vampire dragons that Arad had. Even the merchants held most of their deals here.

In short, Arad’s small world was the real capital, hidden within his soul, far away from the greedy hands of the world.

From what D heard about Arad from Jasmine, the one thing many don’t know is that Arad can feel, sense, and know of everything that happens inside his stomach, and can void step inside at his will, and attack without any delay. Arad is nowhere near her, but she is certain that he can smell her breath, feel her steps on the ground, and hear her eyelashes blink.

“No wonder the fairies hated coming in here. Arad’s magic eyes are everywhere.” D sighed, and the vampire nun looked back at her with a smile.

“That is what makes this place great. We’re all under the watchful eyes of our Blood Lord, our GOD!”

Very few things scared D, and being stuck inside a dragon’s dark stomach, surrounded by fanatic vampires and murderous angels, was one such thing.

After a few minutes of walking, the two finally reached the center of the forming city. The vampire nun called it the capital of Asc, short for Arad’s stomach city.

At the city’s center, a massive stone building was erected from pale white marble, dark bedrock, and roiling lava lanterns to illuminate the entrance in a share of red. It was a small keep, designed to house the ruling house of the city and provide a decent residence for Arad and his immediate family in case they needed it.

Just as D approached the gate, the guards moved aside and greeted her. “You must be the wizard our Lord waited for. Please go inside and don’t start any trouble. Lady Eris and Lady Zia haven’t marked you with their blood yet, so we’re keeping an eye on you.”

D froze, “Marked?”

“Just a single drop of blood, to tell us vampires you aren’t food. All maids and servants got it. So we won’t mistake them.” The guard pointed inside, and D finally smiled as she saw some human servants going about their business as if they weren’t locked inside the stomach of a continent-blasting dragon.

D walked inside, watching as the nun left her and headed toward the keep’s massive church.

D looked at her for a while and then turned back and walked inside, approaching the closest maid to the entrance.

^Ah… human language, how again?^

“Excuse me, I’m looking for Her Majesty Jasmine. I’m D, her court wizard.”

The maid, who was wiping the wall, stopped working and straightened her back, wiped the sweat from her massive forehead, and smiled. She approached D and bowed, “Lady D, welcome to the Red Manor. Lord Arad and Lady Jasmine, along with everyone else, are now in the royal bath. I can’t take you there, but I’ll call another maid who is on duty.

The maid turned around and walked into the hallway. Soon, she called for a maid called Flia, and the woman hurriedly rushed out in a swimsuit, “What? You know I’m busy!”

The maid looked at her younger colleague with a grin, “Busy? More likely to be taking a much-needed relaxing time in the bath.”

“Don’t say that! It’s stressful! Lord Arad never asks for anything, but it’s our duty to stand at the ready. We can’t relax, even if the water is nice and hot, and the vampire ladies are good with their hands.” She looked away, and the other maid laughed.

“Who guessed? Vampires know how to massage people, get their muscles relaxed and their blood flowing.” She pointed at D, “Anyway, this is Lady D. She is here for Lady Jasmine and Lord Arad, please guide her to the bath.”

The maid looked at D for a long moment and frowned, “I doubt we have anything your size. If you don’t have spare clothes, we should visit the tailor first. She’ll take your measurements and get fresh clothes ready within an hour.”

D did have a few spare robes tucked into her storage, but most of them were really old or not that good-looking. “I have clothes, but can I see what this tailor can do? Anything that doesn’t mean me shaking my naked tits in front of Arad’s face is a win.”

The maid looked at her with a frown. “You don’t like Lord Arad?”

“It’s not that I don’t like him. It’s just that I’m not that fond of social interaction, and I get really awkward. So I’d rather only have to deal with one or two people at most.”

D scratched the back of her head. At first, her biggest problem was talking to people without getting nervous. But, since she was the court wizard, she eventually managed to teach and force herself to be able to deal with at least two people at once.

That is most of her work, which included her assisting Jasmine in dealing with another person, so she always had to deal with at least two people. But, having to deal with Arad, Jasmine, and everyone else, naked and in a bath with stranger maids and vampires, that wasn’t something she was thrilled to do.

“Who is the tailor? I know most of Ruris’s famous artists.” D walked behind the maid.

“Ruris? No, this one came from the Divinia.”

“The half-angel kingdom?” D gasped.

“She is called Isabelle.”
