The dragon's harem

Chapter 1371 - 1371: Two Dragon Maids

Isdis immediately noticed the glare on Arad’s face. The strangely calm features, the glowing eyes, the cold air, the rippling magic, and the stance with one arm slightly above his hip while the other rested on it. Whatever was behind her that he was looking at was as good as dead.

“Lariana! Are you okay!” Rey rushed from behind Isdis to help the maid, and Ray jumped to the corner of the room to bring a jug of water.

“Anyone around Isdis’s strength or a bit below her can endure my soul gaze without being crippled. As far as I knew, you two aren’t that strong.”

The moment Isdis heard Arad speak, she knew he was here for Rey and Ray. He was looking for two drakainas in hiding… it couldn’t be! Those two girls had lived with her since she was a child.

But Arad was right. Those two should’ve at least reacted to his soul gaze. If they didn’t, then it meant their souls were powerful enough to not even notice the shock.

Rey looked at Arad with her usual smile. “The whole castle is in disarray and panic. Did you blast that thing in every direction like a bomb?”

“A bomb that induces panic attacks.” Ray finished checking up on the still-shaking Lariana and turned to face Arad with her sister.

“Don’t worry, I did indeed blast it in all directions like an explosion, but I’ve made a conscious decision to exclude children and the very old ones. I also excluded all men since I doubted you’ve been masquerading as ones. It would’ve been genius if you did.” He took a step forward, and his upper torso swayed, seeming to twist the world around him.

Rey and Ray turned back toward Isdis and bowed deeply, “Your Majesty, we’ll be back soon.” Said Rey with a faint smile.

“We’ll explain what we can later, but now, we better start,” Ray added and then turned to face Arad. The twin maids’ uniform fluttered even though the wind was still. Their eyes flashed with magic, and the magic in the room shifted in an instant. Now, no one could mistake the two drakainas standing there.

Isdis grabbed Lariana and dragged her out of the office, “Rey! Ray! I’ll skin you alive if you damage any of the paper, and I’m not joking this time. I’ll buy a whip just for you two! Same for you, Arad! I’ll not redo all that work.”

As Isdis left, Arad shifted his gaze to Rey and Ray, “We should change the place. She’s scary when she gets angry.”

But before Arad could hear any reply, Ray’s palm was already on his face, and the whole around them rapidly shifted. Endless images of deserts, frozen plans, burning hells, lush forests, desolate landscapes, endless abyss, and even the rampaging chaos of limbo.

Arad immediately understood what was happening. Ray was shuffling worlds through teleportation magic in the blink of an eye, looking for an uninhabited one for them to fight in.

It happened in a fraction of a second, but Ray managed to find a suitable world in the endless wastelands of Hades. A near endless, grey, stone desert that’s eternally cursed to remain in dim light as the sulfuric and carbon-rich clouds bloated the sun for thousands of years.

Ray let go of Arad’s face and jumped back with a spin, quickly landing beside her sister. The two looked around, and then Rey spoke. “Did you not find any better place? This one is as gloomy as it gets.”

“People live in the vibrant worlds. The gloomy ones are what they leave behind after millions of years of abuse.” Ray sighed, took a deep breath, and looked at Arad. “But it’s a nice place, isn’t it?”

Arad looked around, and then his eyes landed back on the two of them. “Two wyrms, shit, no wonder you’ve been hard to catch.” He smiled.

The twins looked at each other, “Magic dragons are stronger than the Chromatic or Metallic in every way. Even a young Magic dragon can overpower adult or even ancient dragons of other kinds.” Ray took a step forward, and her maid shoes sank into the gravel with a crunch.

“Time, Light, Void, Mana, the four pillars of the universe. Time always flows to keep the world moving forward. Light is the basic form of energy and the fastest thing in the world, facilitating both communication and energy conservation.”

Rey followed after her, “The world’s energy is a factor of mass, and the speed of light, mass, and matter is the domain of the void. That’s where matter came from and where it’ll always disintegrate into. Did you notice the blinding light generated when you use your energy’s breath? That’s proof of that link.” Rey was talking about the law of energy, E=M.c2.

The two then spoke as if they were the same person, their voices overlapping like a symphony, “And then Mana is the mystical power holding the world together. It is what we use to control the previous three. We use Mana to tame time, to chase light, and to subdue the void.”

Arad smiled, “Thanks for the good lesson, but what’s your point?”

The two smiled, “There is no point. We’re just trying to say that while you could overpower dragons of older age than you, all of them were either chromatic or metallic. You’ve never faced an older magic dragon in direct combat.”

“Both of you are wyrms, and I’m just an adult. It’s like a child facing two grown men.” He cracked his neck, ready to start throwing hands. He knew well that the fight could end in only one of three ways.

He’ll lose. The two will have their way with him and either leave him alive or eat him afterward. Those were the first two options. The last option was him winning and having his way with them, which meant just taking them back home and saving the pounding for later.

“At first, we planned to wait until you became an ancient dragon, at least. It was still far too early to challenge us, but now you’ve gone and done it.” Ray looked at him, “I thought the attack at the tavern should’ve been enough to tell that we are stronger and know more than you do.”

“My problem was that you were hiding. You should’ve just come clean. Not even Isdis knew about you, and you lived with her since she was a child. Why did you do that?” Arad walked forward and stood just a few meters away from them.

“We smelled her ice blood and thought that serving her for a little over seven decades would’ve been fun, just to pass the time.” Rey looked at him, “We didn’t think that serving her would eventually lead us to you.”

Rey lifted her hand, and Ray took a step forward with her right leg, “This is the only way forward. Either you submit, or we’ll make you submit.”

Rey’s hand flashed with magic, and so did Ray’s right leg, bursting with blinding light.

Arad, who stood in front of them like a dark wall, absorbed all of the light into his void, “Big words for two maids within punching range.”

The world trembled as the three clashed.
