Chapter 171 -168: Prince Heng’s Identity

The Corpse Tiger beneath Prince Heng let out a roar that could crack stone and pierce the clouds.

Its putrid, flesh-like markings rippled in the wind. The ground cracked wherever its four claws stomped.

Prince Heng let out a wild laugh that echoed across the land.

He swung his Ghost Head Saber, a blade wider than a door panel. Its edge tore through the air with a wail like a banshee.

The Corpse Tiger, in perfect sync with his thoughts, leaped up and charged straight for the dragon’s head.

In the instant they met, Prince Heng gripped his saber with both hands, muscles bulging all over his body, and used his immense downward momentum—

“ROAR!”

“RAWR!”

The roars of the two behemoths exploded together.

The Ghost Head Saber, carrying mountain-cleaving force, viciously slammed down on the Black Dragon’s horn.

Prince Heng’s Ghost Head Saber was locked against the Black Dragon’s horn as he stared directly into the Jing River Dragon King’s massive eyes.

“HAHAHAHA!!!!”

Prince Heng laughed maniacally.

Doing battle with such a Divine Artifact excited him!

“RAWR! You junior!”

The Jing River Dragon King was enraged to be locked in a contest of strength with a mere mortal.

Although the zombie before him wasn’t exactly human, he had been human in his previous life!

In his extreme fury, his mind raced.

‘Junior!’

‘Junior!’

‘I am the Dragon King who rules a great river!’

‘I once followed His Majesty the Emperor of Ten Thousand Worlds on his campaigns across the land!’

‘This junior…’

‘How dare a lowly Demon like you challenge me!’

Suddenly, a flicker of confusion appeared in the Jing River Dragon King’s eyes.

‘The Emperor of Ten Thousand Worlds…’

‘Who is the Emperor?’

‘The way the enemy army was charging… he had a vague sense… that he had experienced a scene like this before.’

A sharp glint flashed in Prince Heng’s eyes as he seized the moment of the Jing River Dragon King’s distraction.

“Hah!”

With a furious shout, Prince Heng drew a thin sword from his waist in a backhanded motion and plunged it straight into the Jing River Dragon King’s throat!

“RAWR!”

The sharp pain caused the faint memory the Jing River Dragon King had just recovered to dissipate.

“Hya!”

Prince Heng roared.

The Corpse Tiger, perfectly in sync with the Prince, gathered its strength and leaped. Prince Heng, gripping his saber with both hands, muscles bulging, delivered another heavy blow!

The Jing River Dragon King was sent flying backward, crashing uncontrollably into the dark clouds.

The raging wind slightly ruffled Jiang Chaosheng’s hair and made his windbreaker flap loudly.

Jiang Chaosheng’s expression was blank, but he stared thoughtfully at Prince Heng, a hint of Greed in his eyes.

‘How does he possess such Divine Power?’

‘Is it from a Taboo Item?’

‘No, Prince Heng isn’t carrying any Taboo Items on him.’

‘Aside from Prince Heng himself, those Yin Soldiers and Generals behind him are also interesting.’

‘Where did these things come from?’

Gradually, Jiang Chaosheng recalled a certain Taboo Item.

Number 4-04, Corpse Ancestor Armor.

The Corpse Ancestor Armor was not actually a suit of battle armor.

Starting from the Warring States period, the courtiers of the Han Kingdom’s monarch all kept long fingernails.

At the time, this was a symbol of status.

It signified that they did not need to do manual labor and lived a life of pampered ease.

To protect these status-symbolizing nails, ‘nail guards’ were created.

The ‘armor’ protected the fingernails.

The Corpse Ancestor Armor looked just like the nail guards worn by the ladies in Qing Palace dramas.

Taboo Items whose number started with ‘4’ belonged to a series that could raise a mortal’s Life Level.

The wearer of the Corpse Ancestor Armor could transform into a Corpse Ancestor.

They would transcend the Three Realms, existing outside the cycle of the mortal world.

Their physical strength would be comparable to that of Deities, and they would be undying and indestructible.

In addition, a Corpse Ancestor could spread corpse poison to mortals or corpses.

Mortals infected with the corpse poison would turn into zombies, but with limited intelligence.

Corpses infected with the corpse poison could be reanimated, but they would also lose a significant amount of their intelligence.

This Prince Heng must have been an incredibly formidable figure in life to be able to contend with the Dragon Race after being reanimated!

‘This Prince Heng does have the aura of a Taboo Item on him, and it seems to be the Corpse Ancestor Armor.’

‘However, Prince Heng also seems to have the aura of a second Taboo Item.’

‘I can’t tell what the second Taboo Item is, nor what effect it has on him.’

Jiang Chaosheng’s mind slowly turned.

‘Who could Prince Heng be?’

‘Probably not a modern figure…’

‘He might be from ancient times.’

The Black Dragon poked its head out from the dark clouds, its enormous head right beside Jiang Chaosheng.

In comparison, Jiang Chaosheng’s figure was like an ant.

If someone with megalophobia were here, they would likely be too terrified to even breathe.

The Black Dragon slowly emerged from the dark clouds. Its hundred-meter-long body blotted out the sky, and its eyes stared at Prince Heng, brimming with killing intent.

“RAWR!”

The next second, the Black Dragon abruptly charged toward the mountaintop.

Instead of retreating, Prince Heng advanced. He squeezed the tiger’s belly, and the Corpse Tiger shattered the mountain rock as it shot upward like a gray bolt of lightning.

“HAHAHAHA!”

His wild laughter drowned out the wind and the dragon’s roar, leaving only the purest frenzy and killing intent.

The Ghost Head Saber swept out. The blade scraped against the dragon’s scales, creating a blinding shower of sparks before sinking deep into flesh and blood.

The Black Dragon roared in pain, its cry filled with both fury and a hint of… dread.

“Come back.”

The Jing River Dragon King jerked its head back to look at Jiang Chaosheng, who was seated on the jet-black throne.

Jiang Chaosheng spoke in a comforting tone.

“You’re just a vengeful spirit. It’s not your fault you can’t win.”

“Once I find the Slaughter Scarecrow for you and give you a new body, a hundred of him wouldn’t be your match.”

Resentment filled the Jing River Dragon King’s eyes. It gave a cold snort and retreated into the dark clouds.

The smile on Prince Heng’s lips widened.

He held his Ghost Head Saber behind him, looking like the most invincible being in the world.

Jiang Chaosheng rested his head on one hand and asked,

“What is your name?”

Prince Heng cocked his head and gave a casual military salute, his expression full of arrogance.

“To answer you, sir, I am of the Manzhou Yellow Banner, the First Batu of Manzhou, Ao Bai!”

The corner of Jiang Chaosheng’s mouth twitched.

‘Ao Bai?’

‘How did the Taiping Dao find his corpse?’

‘Even if they did, Ao Bai’s body should have mostly decomposed by now, right?’

‘Right, there’s the aura of a second Taboo Item on him.’

‘That other Taboo Item must be what preserved his body in such a perfect state.’

After speaking, Prince Heng squeezed the Corpse Tiger with his thick legs.

“ROAR!”

The Corpse Tiger let out a furious roar and charged toward Jiang Chaosheng, carrying the Prince on its back.

Jiang Chaosheng pulled the Scythe of Death from behind his back.

The Scythe of Death abruptly transformed into a giant scythe nearly three meters tall, its blade shimmering with Runes.

He swung it fiercely.

The Corpse Tiger let out a mournful howl and collapsed, its entire body severed in two. The two halves of its corpse lay on the mountaintop.

The instant before the Corpse Tiger fell, Prince Heng leaped off its back.

He glanced at the madly struggling Corpse Tiger on the ground, his eyes devoid of sadness or pity.

Prince Heng snatched up the Corpse Tiger, caught the stinking black blood with his mouth, and gulped it down, not daring to waste a drop.

Soon, the Corpse Tiger reverted to the decaying corpse of an ordinary Northeast tiger.

Prince Heng’s body suddenly expanded in size!

Already three meters tall, he now reached a height of five meters!

It would be no exaggeration to call him a true giant!

Prince Heng wiped his mouth, staring at Jiang Chaosheng with a wide grin.

“I have always wanted to perform a great service for my Lady.”

“If I can stop you today by giving it my all, sir, my wish will be granted.”

Jiang Chaosheng said coolly,

“Do you think that by stopping me, the Taboo Item in the South Sea can be revived without consequence?”

Jiang Chaosheng had indeed been anxious to contain the Spear of Destiny.

The Spear of Destiny was powerful and dangerous; even members of the Taboo Association would likely be no match for it.

But after discovering that Prince Heng had the auras of two Taboo Items, he was no longer in such a hurry.

It would have been one thing if the two Taboo Items were weak, but both ranked quite high in the Taboo series.

Therefore, he became increasingly interested in Prince Heng, wanting to dig out all his secrets.

‘The Spear of Destiny is in the South Sea. It’s not going anywhere.’

‘But if Prince Heng gets away, who knows when I’ll find him again.’

Prince Heng frowned.

Jiang Chaosheng took a step off his jet-black throne. A staircase formed from the dark clouds, and his foot landed perfectly on the first step.

“Right now, I’m more interested in you.”
