Chapter 168 -165: Road-Blocking Yin Soldiers

Wang Xiuqiao was so terrified by the Qing Dynasty zombie that she couldn’t move.

When facing those two Taiping Daoists, she had dared to open fire.

But facing this sort of skin-crawling monster, she completely lost the ability to think.

“Sister Wang! Run!”

Liu Tianming didn’t know where he found the courage, but with a furious roar, he lunged at the Blood Drop.

His face was stained with tears of fear, but within his terrified eyes, there was also a glint of madness.

The Blood Drop didn’t even glance at Liu Tianming, merely extending a palm toward him.

“BANG!”

Yin Qi erupted.

A terrifying wave of energy kicked up a violent gale in the courtyard.

“AHH!!”

“Urk!”

Liu Tianming let out a bloodcurdling scream, spat out a mouthful of blood, and was sent flying back more than ten meters, landing on the ground on the verge of death.

Although Wang Xiuqiao wasn’t directly attacked, the aftershock of the energy wave made her grunt as she was thrown backward, crashing hard into the wooden door of a house.

“BANG!”

The wooden door shattered, sending splinters and dust flying.

The Blood Drop strode toward the cloud of dust.

‘If Wang Xiuqiao refuses to hand over that flag, then I’ll just kill her first before regrouping with the Prince.’

As the Blood Drop reached the threshold, the dust settled.

It witnessed a bizarre scene.

Wang Xiuqiao, disheveled and grimy, was kneeling on the ground. Before her sat a very festive-looking red candle.

Her hands trembling, she used a lighter to light the red candle.

The lighter chose this critical moment to fail.

It just wouldn’t light.

“Come on, light! Light!”

Wang Xiuqiao’s voice trembled, tinged with the sound of sobbing.

The Blood Drop didn’t understand what Wang Xiuqiao was doing and continued advancing toward her.

It reached her and stretched out its hand, about to crush her head.

“Sister!”

Wang Xiuqiao looked up and saw Liu Tianming, covered in injuries and deathly pale, behind the Qing Dynasty zombie.

He was clutching a brick, completely disregarding his own life.

The Blood Drop glanced indifferently behind it and slowly uttered two words:

“Insolent peasant.”

Just as the Blood Drop was about to strike again, it suddenly sensed something. It whipped its head around to stare at Wang Xiuqiao.

“CRACK!”

The brick landed on its head.

It didn’t do much damage, but being hit by a low-life was a great insult.

But the Blood Drop had no time to spare for Liu Tianming. It just stared intently at Wang Xiuqiao, its rigid face filled with horror.

It looked at Wang Xiuqiao, who was trembling on the ground with tear stains on her face.

More accurately, it was staring at what was behind Wang Xiuqiao.

Behind her stood five figures dressed in shabby white robes.

A white fox, holding a smoking pipe and puffing out clouds of smoke, its eyes aloof.

A weasel, wearing a tall hat and bowing with clasped hands, its eyes cunning.

A White Snake, with an opera mask on the side of its face and a pair of sharp, triangular eyes.

An old hedgehog, stroking its long whiskers, with an inscrutable expression.

A rat, arms crossed, staring gloomily at it.

Even for a zombie, the Blood Drop’s scalp tingled with fear.

In its former life, it had been a man of the Qing Dynasty, so it naturally knew what these five were!

The Five Immortals!

The strongest Dharma Protectors within Shanhai Pass!

The Blood Drop’s throat bobbed. It slowly performed a military salute.

“This junior, Sun…”

Before it could finish, the White Snake lashed out with its tail.

“Urgh…”

The Blood Drop cried out as it was sent flying.

Behind it, Liu Tianming quickly ducked and covered his head. The Qing Dynasty zombie shot right over him, the wind from its passage ruffling his short hair.

“BOOM!”

The Blood Drop crashed heavily to the ground.

The White Snake wasn’t about to let the Blood Drop go. With a WHOOSH, its long, slender body shot forward.

It wasn’t just the White Snake; the fox and the weasel also transformed into streaks of white light and shot out.

The Blood Drop struggled to get up, but the four Earth Immortals gave it no chance.

“You aid a tyrant!”

“Fiend!”

“A mere creature of Yin, you dare commit violence before us!”

White light flashed continuously. The four Earth Immortals unleashed a flurry of techniques, beating the Blood Drop until it shrieked relentlessly.

Liu Tianming watched this scene in astonishment, then whipped his head around to look at Wang Xiuqiao in disbelief.

Wang Xiuqiao was still in shock, her gaze vacant.

The Bai Xian beside her stroked its long whiskers, walked over to Wang Xiuqiao, and smilingly wiped away her tears.

“Child, don’t be afraid. We are here.”

The Five Immortals were very powerful; after all, they were extraordinary souls who had cultivated for hundreds of years.

But the Five Immortals were never willing to do evil.

They had to obey the commands of the Five Immortals Candle’s owner.

When Li Ying possessed the Five Immortals Candle, she had only been able to use a tiny fraction of its power.

This was the result of the Five Immortals deliberately holding back; they did not want to be driven by an evil person.

Wang Xiuqiao lowered her head and stared at the Bai Xian, who was only half a meter tall. She was stunned, her mind a complete blank.

The Bai Xian’s voice was very gentle, like that of a kind old man.

“Child, from now on, you are our disciple. No demons or evil spirits will be able to get near you.”

Wang Xiuqiao was soothed by this warm voice. She pointed at the Earth Immortals battling the Blood Drop and said:

“They…”

Her tone was filled with worry.

She was afraid the four Immortals helping her would get hurt.

Hearing Wang Xiuqiao’s words, the Bai Xian wore a gratified smile.

“When we manifest, it naturally consumes some of our cultivation.

But cultivation is easy to regain, while a good person is hard to find. You are worth this sacrifice.

In our future cultivation, we will need much of your care.”

After speaking, the Bai Xian walked out the door, faced south, and stood still, its small fingers making a few calculations.

It performed the greatest of Confucian courtesies—three kneelings and nine prostrations—a look of gratitude in its eyes.

“Thank you… Mr. Dusk, for bestowing upon us a kind and good disciple!”

A sharp, thin voice rang out:

“You old scholar, you speak only of empty words.

Since you’re thanking him, you might as well help him with something practical.

Go on, calculate what this Mr. Dusk needs, so we can give it to him.”

The Bai Xian turned and saw the Huang Xian approaching.

The battle over there had already ended.

The Bai Xian nodded repeatedly.

“Indeed, indeed! Let this old one calculate on the gentleman’s behalf.”

The Bai Xian performed its calculations, its brow slowly furrowing.

Suddenly, its eyes widened, its pupils trembling violently.

The Bai Xian glanced at the other Earth Immortals, whose eyes were all blazing with passion, and asked:

“This karmic debt is rather large. Are you all afraid?”

The Immortals shook their heads.

“It matters not. In our cultivation, have we ever feared karma?”

The Bai Xian faced south and bowed solemnly.

“When our cultivation bears fruit, we will surely help Mr…. ascend to the throne!”

The bodies of the other Immortals jolted.

‘The throne…’

‘Could it be…’

Wang Xiuqiao heard everything clearly.

She looked at the expressions on the Five Immortals, her eyes wide with shock.

‘The throne?’

‘This definitely isn’t the Emperor who rules the Xia Kingdom.’

‘That Mr. Dusk… it seems he’s not as simple as an Immortal.’

…

The dark clouds had arrived over a deep mountain range.

Sitting on the Black Cloud Throne, Jiang Chaosheng suddenly narrowed his eyes and looked down.

Not far away, on a very high peak, was a concentration of Yin Qi as thick as a cloud.

‘Someone is blocking the way?’

‘Who?’

‘Taiping Dao?’

The dark clouds advanced, and Jiang Chaosheng saw what was on the mountain peak.

Several thousand zombies dressed in Qing Soldier uniforms, led by a small giant in black armor riding a colossal Corpse Tiger.

The small giant in black armor stared intently at the approaching dark clouds, swallowing excitedly. He cupped his fists toward the clouds.

“Sir, please wait!”

Before him, the dark clouds slowly parted, revealing the scene within.

A man in a black suit and a black trench coat sat on a pitch-black throne, looking down on him with an indifferent gaze.

The small giant in black armor’s lips curled into a grin.

“May I be so bold as to ask if you are Mr. Dusk?”

Jiang Chaosheng looked down on him contemptuously and parted his thin lips.

“You are Prince Heng?”

Prince Heng’s smile grew wider.

“I never expected that you would know of this Prince, hehehe. This Prince is greatly honored!”

Jiang Chaosheng’s fingers tapped lightly on the armrest of his pitch-black throne as he spoke slowly.

“I’m in a hurry. Move aside now, and I won’t kill you.”

Prince Heng froze, his eye twitching.

‘This Mr. Dusk… what intense killing intent!’

The Yin Soldiers lowered their heads, their crimson eyes filled with apprehension.

The Mr. Dusk sitting on that pitch-black throne was like a Divine Monarch enthroned high in the clouds!

The terrifying pressure he exuded extinguished any will they had to fight.
