The Disfigured Beauty Becomes a Succubus to Repay Her Debt
Chapter 131 - 128: The Little Street Beggar
Chapter 131: Chapter 128: The Little Street Beggar
South Sea, Fenglin Villa District.
Zhu Chuanwu drove up to a villa.
He got out of the car and entered the brightly lit villa’s main hall.
Two beautiful maids in revealing clothes bowed slightly and said coquettishly,
"Young Master, you’re back."
The two maids looked identical; they were a pair of twins.
Their beautiful eyes sent flirtatious glances toward Zhu Chuanwu, a clear invitation.
Zhu Chuanwu’s heart skipped a beat.
"Where’s my dad? Why aren’t you with him?"
The older maid covered her mouth with her hand and giggled.
"He’s upstairs playing a little game with Aunt Rong and Qingqing."
Zhu Chuanwu frowned.
"Aunt Rong? Qingqing?"
The younger maid blushed.
"They’re a mother and daughter. They just arrived this afternoon."
Zhu Chuanwu breathed a sigh of relief.
"Good."
The twins, as well as the mother and daughter he hadn’t met, had all been sent by the World Honored One.
What was there to say about the World Honored One?
Besides possessing formidable Extraordinary Power, he also had a masterful command of Buddhist Dharma.
According to the World Honored One himself, he had cultivated Buddhist Dharma at Anpu Temple since childhood but was driven out because his understanding of the Joyful Buddha differed from that of ordinary monks.
The World Honored One worshipped only the Joyful Buddha.
The World Honored One had once told a story about the Joyful Buddha.
Legend has it that there was an evil deity named Great Wilderness.
The god Great Wilderness brought harm to all living things and committed every evil imaginable.
To subdue him, a bodhisattva took the form of a beautiful woman and went to him.
The god Great Wilderness was instantly smitten, his heart consumed by lust, and he longed to embrace her.
The beautiful woman said to him,
"If you wish to be intimate with me, you must convert to Buddhism and never again commit evil."
The god Great Wilderness readily agreed, so the woman, the bodhisattva’s incarnation, smiled and embraced him.
To attain great joy, the god Great Wilderness shed his violent nature and peacefully became a Dharma Protector.
This is the origin of the Joyful Buddha.
In the orthodox texts of the Buddhist Sect:
"Joy" is the true bliss that arises from within after subjugating evil and attaining enlightenment, not worldly carnal pleasure.
The joy mentioned in Buddhist Scripture is a form of great wisdom.
But the World Honored One believed:
Only a Buddha possesses great wisdom, and how many in the Human World can become a Buddha?
The joy of great wisdom is not suited for humanity; worldly joy is the true deadly weapon.
Therefore, the best way to subdue a person of strong desire is to create an even stronger desire.
Zhu Chuanwu felt that the World Honored One’s Joyful Buddhist Dharma had been applied perfectly to his family.
His father, Zhu Feng, was already a major figure in South Sea City.
Merchants from all over who wanted to make a living in the South Sea first had to pay respects to his father.
Big-shot directors from the entertainment industry who wanted to film in the South Sea first had to have their lead actors please his father.
Zhu Feng was fiercely ambitious, always aiming to climb higher.
Then the World Honored One arrived and, with a few exceptionally well-trained beauties, effortlessly dismantled his father’s fighting spirit.
Now, his father no longer concerned himself with the affairs of the underworld, wishing only to lose himself in a world of pleasure.
’And what about me?’
’I’ve long since grown tired of being a boisterous, second-generation heir.’
’I want to achieve great things, but my father always held me back, forbidding me from doing this or that.’
’But now, things are different. All of my father’s unsavory subordinates are mine to command.’
’Best of all, as long as I maintain my persona as a lawless, hedonistic heir, trouble will never find its way to me.’
’Everyone in South Sea City knows I’m a complete idiot, and any debts this idiot incurs will all fall on my father’s head.’
’What does that amount to?’
’I get to eat the meat while my father takes the blame.’
’If anyone were to ask if it was wrong to screw over my own father,’
’I would say nonchalantly,’
’"What’s so wrong about it? Isn’t that how my dad screwed over my grandpa?"’
A small hand reached out and touched Zhu Chuanwu’s waist.
Only then did Zhu Chuanwu notice that the pair of beautiful sisters were eagerly crowding around him.
He shivered violently and quickly chanted in his mind: ’Form is emptiness!’
Zhu Chuanwu walked quickly upstairs.
He heard sounds that would make one blush coming from his father’s bedroom.
Feeling a little uncomfortable, Zhu Chuanwu said from the doorway,
"Dad, I want Brother Xiong to help me with something.
Can you give him a call?
I need some skilled men."
An angry middle-aged man’s voice roared from within the room:
"You’ve gotten bold, haven’t you? You even want to use Ah Xiong?!
Do you even know what he does behind the scenes?!"
Of course, Zhu Chuanwu knew.
Ah Xiong, nicknamed Black Bear, was a former assassin from Harbor City. After pledging allegiance to his father, he had trained a batch of death-sworn warriors for him as well.
Just as Zhu Chuanwu was pondering how to ask his father for the men, other voices came from the room.
A mature woman’s voice said sweetly,
"Darling, the boy is all grown up. You should let him spread his wings. Why should we adults meddle so much?"
A clear, girlish voice panted,
"That’s right, Daddy. Don’t worry about big brother. Let’s get back to what we were doing."
Inside the room, Zhu Feng felt like he could die happy right then and there. He shouted hastily,
"In the study drawer! Red phone! Call Ah Xiong!"
Zhu Chuanwu’s face lit up with joy as he thought to himself,
’The World Honored One’s "rosy-cheeked skeletons" are truly formidable!’
...
The shopkeepers closed their stores one after another and headed home.
The area was too remote. If it hadn’t been renovated into the Nationalist Era Charm Street, no one would ever visit.
No tourists would linger in such a secluded place at this hour.
By day, it was the bustling Nationalist Era Charm Street, a popular photo spot for countless out-of-town tourists.
At night, it reverted to being Anxiang Street, as quiet as if it had fallen asleep.
A group of more than a dozen men and women suddenly appeared at the head of the street and began walking down Anxiang Street, looking like a group of late-arriving tourists.
"Mister, ma’am, have you seen my dog?"
A clear boy’s voice sounded from a corner.
The dozen or so men and women turned in unison, their movements perfectly synchronized.
They saw a small, dirty-faced boy in a thin sweater sitting in the corner.
In front of him was a bowl containing bread and ham, with a few scattered coins beside it.
So, he was a little beggar.
The leader of the group said,
"Pay him no mind. Find that antique shop. Remember the Young Master’s words: make a big scene."
This man was over two meters tall and powerfully built, truly like a bear.
His nickname was Black Bear, Zhu Feng’s strongest enforcer, and he was now working for Zhu Chuanwu.
The others nodded and continued walking down Anxiang Street.
The little boy spoke again.
"Xiaobai didn’t lie to me. You’re here to cause trouble for my master and master’s wife."
The little boy had once had his Spiritual Aperture opened by Daji, and he regarded Daji and Jiang Chaosheng as his masters.
However, the child was too young to understand the difference between "master" and "master’s wife."
He simply thought the ’female master’ was the master’s wife, and the ’male master’ was the master.
The group of men and women ignored the little boy, thinking he was just spouting nonsense.
Why would a group of highly-trained assassins care about the words of a little beggar?
The little boy spoke again.
"I found my Xiaobai. He’s above you, saying hello."
A few of the men and women shot the boy an annoyed glance.
’What the hell does finding your Xiaobai have to do with us?!’
Black Bear sensed something. He snapped his head up, his eyes widening in horror.
There, on the roof of the restaurant beside them, stood a majestic white dog.
The white dog stood beneath the crescent moon, looking like a lone wolf howling at the sky!
Their eyes filled with disbelief.
’How could there be such a large white wolf in the city?!’
"AWOOOO!"
With a long howl, the white dog leaped from the roof and charged into the crowd.
The little boy muttered,
"Too noisy."
He reached out and began to draw something in the air toward the head of the street.
A force of Profound Mysteries was born. A thick fog appeared, obscuring the view of the street’s entrance.
No sound could escape the thick fog.
The little boy, relying solely on his own understanding, had actually managed to draw a Barrier.
Although the Barrier was crude, to be able to cast it without any guidance made him an absolute genius.
