The Devil's Sweetheart

Leena flared up from the bed in frustration glaring double daggers at Reese for interrupting their kiss again. Each time Leena and Devin wanted to immerse in the kiss, either Reese would barge in or Drew would call Devin to disturb their mood. These two have become the villains of my story.

Leena felt a little remorse for informing about Reese's sexual preference to the reporters but not anymore. By any chance, if the reporters put it in tomorrow's headlines, aunty and uncle would confirm it. Jasper would come to her throat but he can't even pluck a strand of her hair. She has her Devin at the front.

"Did I disturb you guys?" Reese asked hesitantly.

"Is there any day you wouldn't disturb us, Reese Allen?" Leena barked and peeked at the bathroom door. She felt sad for him. Every time he has to hit the bathroom to take a cold shower. Should I google how to massage and make him feel good? Unconsciously, she gazed at her hands, her cheeks turned red thinking of it. She brushed off that thought for now.

"I am sorry, Leena." Reese whisked towards her to appease her friend. "I wanted to talk about today's press meet."

"Was I cool?" Leena flashed a wink.

"I must say, you were the show stopper today. You gave left and right to that nail-biter." Reese exclaimed. Leena has become the talk of the city and women are throwing compliments for the bravery she has exhibited. There are some people throwing dirt on her but haters are gonna hate. They are just jealous that they can't be like her.

"Even your brother has cooled down and praised you." Reese went to Wilbur's house to solely watch the interview with her friend Jane. They called Cutie but she went to play with her friend Elsie.

Although Wilbur was sulking over Devin when he got to know that the video footage was truly fabricated, he didn't complain.

"As if I give a monkey to his praises." She said.

"But how did you find the overwritten recordings?" She asked. Reese knew Leena is a pro in hacking but still she was unsure how Leena has got a hand on it. Until the press meet, Leena and Devin maintained a secret without informing anyone.

"You know that I do magic, right?" She was too tired to explain all the concepts in physics.

"You are the_"

Reese halted her words when Devin emerged from the bathroom freshly showered. Her eyes dimmed when he straight away went into the walk-in-closet before throwing a murderous gaze. It was only a split second but she must say it was a drool-worthy scene. Water droplets were gushing and dribbled over his naked torso and the ripped muscles were screaming to ooze out. No wonder he was covered in the prime magazines, Reese thought. She has seen him in many photos but live watching was hunky-dory.

"Are you done ogling at him?" Leena's words brought Reese out of her fantasy.

"He could have stayed for a little more time." Reese was disappointed when Devin didn't even spare a little time in the room.

Only when she reckoned her words, Reese understood she has blurted her inner thoughts. But what can she do? Leena has chosen a hotty. She wondered how many women she will fight in the future. Before Leena would rip her face, Reese whisked away.

"He is catching a lot of attention. I have to do something about it." With a sigh, Leena jumped into the bed to wait for Devin while thinking of a plan. Soon Devin arrived in his sweatpants

"Where is Reese?" Sitting at the edge of the bed, he pulled the blanket up until her chin and covered her body.

"She left." Grabbing his hand, she asked. "Can I ask you a question?"

"I am not going to answer if you bring that poop topic again." He warned her. Where does she learn all this crazy stuff? Did that Ethan taught her? He wanted to ask her how close she was with him in the past but then again he was afraid that her mood would get spoiled if I bring the topic. He has yet to tell Leena that he knows about her relationship with Ethan. Was she close to him? closer than me? His heart would be shattered if it is latter. He wanted to live in the illusion that his mind has created for some time at least.

"I am being serious here." Leena discarded the blanket and got up.

"Then I will seriously answer your question." He added. "What is it?"

"Have we ever met before?" She implored in all sobriety.

"Perhaps, no. Why do you ask that?" Francis and his dad have been close friends and even Wilbur is very close to him but he hasn't seen Leena despite he visited their house umpteen times.

"I just asked out of curiosity." Leena felt that he was way similar to someone she met long back. After her accident, her phone has fallen over somewhere on that night, and missed her contacts. Luckily, she has synced the contacts to her mail and retrieved them. For a year, she hasn't used the mobile. With a little hesitation, she has messaged him but there was no reply and understood that he has forgotten and moved on. But she felt bad for missing one friend.

"I don't know about our past, but I am happy that we are together now." He doesn't remember if he had an encounter with her in the past but all he cared about was Leena is in his arms and no one can take her away from him, not even Ethan. The only regret was that he wished to have appeared in her life before Ethan and protected her from the accident. 

"I am happier to be with you." She leaned in snuggling closer to him.

"Thanks for believing in me, Leena." He caressed her hair to put her to sleep. Wilbur and Francis knew him for a long time but still, they were against him. Devin did not want to blame them, in fact, he was happy that they cared for Leena. But knowing Devin for a short period and still chose to believe him before the truth came out, standing next to him vetoing Francis and Wilbur's, meant that she has put a lot of trust in him. He vowed to cherish it. Even if they overcome any hurdles in the future as long as they are together, no one can alienate them.

"We have built our relationship on trust and I don't want to play a detective role." Her past relationship with Ethan was not out of force. But her relationship with Devin is born out of love, trust, honesty, and respect. He has confessed the truth before he tackled the situation alone. That shows how much he respects her and their relationship.

"I am glad you feel that way.." Both stayed in each other arms happily without knowing there was a commotion going on the other side.
