When the sun reached its peak, Aliana stirred from her deep slumber, awakened by the tingling sensation of something hot against her chest.

Slowly, every nerve ending in her body came alive as she felt a gentle suction. A soft moan escaped her lips, and her eyes fluttered open to the unfamiliar ceiling above.

As her gaze drifted down towards the source of the sensation, she was met with a pair of icy-blue eyes, and her breath caught in her throat.

Gavriel looked utterly droolworthy with his messy bed hair and the warm sunlight illuminating his angelic features. Without breaking eye contact, he released her breast with a soft pop and rose until his face was level with hers.

In his sexy, sleep-ridden voice, he murmured, "Morning."

Heat rushed to her cheeks, and before she could even respond, he had already spread her legs and entered her with a swift thrust.

"Oh, God..." Aliana’s lips parted as she threw her head back against the pillow. Gavriel watched her eyes roll back, and her body arch beautifully against him as she clawed at his shoulder. The sight spurred him on, and he buried his face in the crook of her neck as he began to move.

"Fuck, Aliana..." he rasped as she clenched around him, as though she wanted to milk him dry.

Feeling himself on the verge of losing himself in the incredible euphoria she was once again making him feel, he began moving with the vigour of the insatiable beast he truly was.

He was nowhere near as gentle as he had been the previous night, but Aliana enjoyed every bit of it. This was the husband she knew, with his never-ending hunger, and she was beginning to believe that she was becoming just like him.

After all, who could possibly resist him?

Grabbing his gorgeous face, she kissed him passionately as he rode them all the way to seventh heaven.

They stayed still with their eyes closed and foreheads resting together as they came down from their high, with only the sound of their ragged breathing echoing in the room.

Releasing a deep sigh, Aliana opened her eyes and spoke breathlessly, "Is this... your idea of... a morning wake-up call?"

Gavriel opened his eyes and kissed her softly before pulling back to sit on his knees.

His gaze drifted down to the curves of her skin before lingering on the one place he had come to consider his sacred ground. "It is, especially when you are lying next to me without a single piece of clothing on."

Aliana felt a warm blush creep up her cheeks and quickly tugged the sheet up to cover her chest. "It is hardly my fault when you keep tearing them all away."

"It certainly will not be the last time," he smirked and leaned in to kiss her again, but the sharp vibration of her phone on the nightstand interrupted him.

She turned to reach for it, but Gavriel was faster. His fingers wrapped around her wrist. "Don’t answer it."

"But it must be something important. People know to contact me only when it is urgent," Aliana reasoned.

"Later," was all he said.

He gracefully got out of bed before scooping her up into his arms and walked toward the bathroom.

After another round in the bathtub and yet another against the shower wall, their passionate escapade finally came to a halt when Aliana’s stomach grumbled for much-needed food.

"Let us go visit the floating market you mentioned yesterday," Aliana suggested as she took off her robe to get dressed.

But as her gaze settled to the large floor-length mirror, she gasped softly at the sight of the sheer number of love bites scattered across her neck and chest.

She turned and glared at Gavriel, who had just pulled on his trousers. "You really need to stop doing this, unless you want people to think I have caught some rare disease."

Gavriel stepped in front of her and innocently brushed his fingers along her collarbone. "I think they look good," he murmured.

Aliana swatted his hand away and turned back to get dressed. "You’d better heal them, unless you want to lose the privilege of touching me for the next five days!"

He watched in quiet admiration as she slipped into a fitted powder-blue dress patterned with delicate grey and purple flowers. Its corset-style bodice featured slim straps and a square neckline, while the skirt hugged her waist before flaring into a mermaid silhouette that ended just below her knees.

"That’s not going to happen," Gavriel replied smoothly.

She adjusted one of her straps before turning to narrow her eyes at him. "What is?"

"Me not touching you," Gavriel replied with quiet confidence as he reached for a light blue shirt.

Aliana watched the rise and fall of his shoulders as he slipped into his shirt, then closed the distance between them.

Her fingers curled around the fabric of his shirt and gave it a deliberate tug that made his brow rise in amusement.

"Then heal them," she purred, "and you might just earn another reward tonight."

The way she fanned her thick lashes enticingly while biting her lower lip made Gavriel realise his little wife’s persuasive skills were growing sharper by the day. What was more, he knew she was not even putting half her effort into it, yet he found himself willingly giving in.

Wrapping his arms around her waist, he pulled her closer until she felt the hard evidence of his desire pressing against her. "You bad, bad girl," he whispered close to her lips. "Come here."

His mouth took hers in a slow kiss, and Aliana smiled against his lips when she felt the subtle pulse of his power hum to life, knowing he was healing her marks.

Just then, her phone rang again from the bedroom, making her pull away with a slight frown. "That must be the fifth time."

But Gavriel made no effort to move.

"Gav, it could be Nigel about work. I really need to answer this," Aliana urged, giving him a pleading look.

With a quiet sigh, he reluctantly let her go.

She immediately hurried into the bedroom and picked up her phone, only to pause when she saw who was calling.

Gavriel walked in behind her, buttoning his shirt. "Who is it?"

"It’s Owen," she replied softly, noticing his expression darken instantly.

"Mr Ross," she answered, switching the call to speaker.

"Aliana! Thank God you finally picked up!" Owen’s urgent voice came through.

Keeping her eyes fixed on her husband, she asked, "Why? What is so urgent?"

"Well, where are you? Can we meet?" Owen asked.

Gavriel’s eyes turned colder, and Aliana frowned. "No, Mr Ross. Didn’t Nigel inform you that I’m out of the country?"

"He did... but I thought it would be better if you could come back early, as there are matters that need your immediate attention."

Aliana stared at the screen with an incredulous look. "I am afraid that is not possible, Mr. Ross. Whatever it is, you need to tell me over the phone or wait until I return."

Owen went silent for a few seconds before replying, "Fine. I’m sending you something via message. Let me know if you still think there’s no need to hurry back after going through it."

Aliana found it perplexing why the man seemed hell-bent on having her back, but she replied, "Alright, send it over," and ended the call.
