Chapter 121: A Jealous Wife
Chapter 121: A Jealous Wife
“I was in the club for a business deal,” Ares began. “The meeting place was unprofessional, but it was necessary given the circumstances.”
“There’s no need to explain…”
“But you want me to, don’t you? You’ve been giving me attitude all day.” He gave a hard squeeze on my ass, and I chewed the inside of my mouth to keep from crying out.
He’s torturing me right now.
“You’re explaining because of my attitude, not because you want to…”
“I see no other reason why I should, baby.”
I scoffed. Spoken like a businessman, even now, this is business for him. Was it ever not that? Now that I think about it, everything about Ares King was just… business.
I sighed, closing my eyes briefly. “If you say so, Mr. King.”
I had no idea why I got worked up over it. I blame myself more in this situation.
“Are you jealous at the thought of another woman sucking my cock?”
I flickered my wide eyes to him. “Jealous?” I questioned as if he had just insulted me.
I attempted to rise off his lap, but he forced me back down, and his grip was like steel now.
“A jealous wife.”
As if rephrasing his words is gonna make me feel any better!
“The contract stated no third party. I was concerned
you were breaching the contract. But it appears that stuff like that is beneath you.”
Ares tugged me closer until I fell into his arms, my hands resting on his shoulders. He was so close that I felt his cold breath on my face, his eyes locked with mine, and I was instantly teleported to Ice Land.
“I wrote the contract. Do you think I would violate it?”
I looked away, but his grip on my chin forced my gaze back.
“Our contract needs trust and loyalty. I do that, and I expect the same from you.”
“Yes, sir.”
His grip tightened. “That… attitude.”
“What attitude?”
“Careful, baby.” He stroked my cheek with his thumb so delicately that it was frightening.
I couldn’t tell if he wanted to kiss me senseless or spank me to death.
“How about this…” He began, a subtle smile playing on his lips like a taste of honey. “Pick our next date, not relating to the first contract, but the second.”
I squinted my eyes. “How is that any different?”
“Because it doesn’t involve the public.”
My heart skipped a beat. D-Does Ares King want a real date with me?
“That’s um…”
“The sex contract is all about us.” His hand moved to my neck. “Only us. Affairs are necessary to build our dynamic so that we can both have a connection.”
Butterflies danced wildly in my stomach. He’s serious. Ares wants a real date with me.
“What do you say, baby?”
~☆~
“Are you being serious?”
“Yeah!” I said to Tori on the video call as I tiptoed to check the cabinet for the ingredients, writing down what I needed on my notepad.
“So, a date with Ares King, and you chose a normal date? Does he do normal? I mean, his standards are obviously high, maybe something at a yacht or at an opera with a performance that definitely screams Kingship.”
“Having dinner in the penthouse is not just normal, it’s…”
Intimate. And that was what served our sex contract since we’re working on a connection.
“It’s what?”
“I-It’s giving him a taste of something different for a change. Dinner while watching a movie or something.” I faced the living room. “Trust me, with this view here, it’s certainly not casual.”
“And he knows you’re trying to give him a taste of something different?”
“I just told him the time and date.” I smiled. “It’s a surprise.”
“You do realize that this is like a romantic dinner?”
“It’s not a romantic dinner, Tori.”
“Yeah… I really think it is.”
“It’s just an idea that popped up since I was the one meant to choose our date, which is necessary for our contract. Ever since it’s always in a five-star restaurant, and it was bland. Different—normal is needed.”
“Wow!”
I eyed my phone. “What?”
Tori rubbed her forehead. “I’m just trying to picture what kind of expression that face of his is gonna make when he finds out what you have planned for a date.”
To be honest, I have, too, and knowing Ares, he would be more puzzled than shocked. Everything’s like a puzzle to that devil.
What if he hates it and gives me the cold treatment? What if… what if—!
I panicked. “Y-You don’t think this is a bad idea, do you?”
“I don’t know, you’re the one giving a King a date he probably never knew existed.”
“You’re not helping!” I pouted.
“I don’t know what you expect me to do, girl. You made this choice, are you gonna see it to the end or not?”
I sighed. “I want to.”
I really do. I can’t calm my nerves down from the excitement.
“Then go for it. Let’s just hope it doesn’t blow up in your face.”
I gave her a look, and she shrugged. “What? Always expect the worst, remember? Your quote… not mine.”
“I need to go to the grocery store. Bye!”
Her gaze softened. “Look, munchkin, I don’t wanna be the bad egg here. It’s just… It’s written all over your face.” She circled a finger around.
“What?”
“I have never seen you this genuinely happy about something. It’s been years since I saw your eyes so bright, and I have missed it! I thought you lost your glow.”
“But I have my glow…”
“No… it faded so long and now it’s here, I’m gonna be bloody pissed if it’s taken away from the devil.”
“Oh…” I could only offer a sound right now.
“Face it, girl, you’re glowing, and that means you’re super excited about this real date with the devil.”
“That’s…” I swallowed.
“Okay… I think that’s my cue.”
“Wait…!”
She ended the call after dropping that bomb.
