The Destiny Villainess Wants Me To Work!

Chapter 375: Sorry’ I Lied...

"Here, Anthony. Have something to eat."

A man carrying a plate of toast and omelette placed it beside Anthony, who was busy working on the laptop.

Anthony looked up and smiled gratefully. "Thank you, Brother Ming."

Brother Ming smiled and asked, "Any progress?"

"Un-hm," Anthony nodded. "I’m thinking of contacting Yang Industries."

"Yang Industries, huh? They’re part of the Yang Consortium. I’d say that’s one of the best choices you could make. People are practically dying to work there. If you can get in, it’ll be great for your future. Then you can settle down and eventually bring your family here too." Brother Ming smiled as he gave his advice.

Anthony listened with a smile and nodded along. Brother Ming glanced at the time before standing up. "Alright, I’m going to work. I’ll be back by lunch. If you have somewhere to go, just leave the keys with the neighbour."

"Okay, Brother Ming."

Anthony watched him leave, and the smile on his face gradually disappeared, replaced by a faint trace of sadness.

"Sorry, Brother Ming. I lied. I can’t see my family anymore... because I’m not in my world anymore."

Two days ago, after Brother Ming had brought him to his home and offered him a place to stay and food in exchange for the watch, Anthony had noticed the laptop sitting in his house and asked if he could borrow it. Brother Ming had agreed without much hesitation.

At first, Anthony had simply searched for information about the country and city he was in, expecting to find something familiar.

But the more he searched, the stranger everything became.

There was simply nothing.

No familiar city names, no familiar country, no celebrities he recognized, no popular movies or novels he had read, and not even a single famous work that he remembered from his own world. The deeper he searched, the more he realized that this wasn’t simply a different part of his world.

This was a completely different world.

Anthony had been shocked and confused when he finally accepted the reality. He had immediately asked the system if it could take him back, but there had been no response. His family, his friends, the people he had known all his life... he might never see any of them again.

He would never get to read the future issues of Super Cactus Man, nor would he ever get to play the games he had been looking forward to. Perhaps the strangest part was that he had never imagined he would miss such trivial things.

After spending an entire night tossing and turning, Anthony had no choice but to accept his situation. He spent all of yesterday trying to understand this unfamiliar world and discovered that, despite being completely different from his own, it wasn’t particularly strange in many other aspects.

There were modern cities, advanced technology, large corporations, entertainment industries, and almost everything else he was familiar with, without much difference.

Then he came across one particular video that completely changed his perspective.

It was footage of a terrorist attack in Jiangnan City, and the person who had appeared during the incident was being called a superhero by the public.

Lord Lavatory. A real superhero.

Anthony had watched the footage several times, and for the first time since arriving in this strange world, genuine excitement had replaced the emptiness in his heart.

This world had superheroes! Real superheroes!!! He wanted to become one as well!

Unfortunately, the excitement didn’t last long before reality reminded him of his current situation.

He was penniless, had no proper identity, no connections, and no idea how he could make use of his system rewards to actually become a superhero.

After thinking about it for a long time, Anthony came up with only one plausible solution. He needed an investor.

If he could find someone willing to provide the necessary funding, he could use his system rewards as the foundation for developing his superhero equipment.

But who would be willing to invest in an unknown nobody like him? That was when Anthony suddenly remembered his newbie rewards.

Could I use them to find an investor?

The thought gave him some hope, but he quickly realized that money alone wouldn’t be enough.

He would need people, resources, equipment, and proper facilities as well. More importantly, he couldn’t develop everything by himself.

At the moment, he only had one blueprint and one AI source code, while the technical knowledge the system had given him was limited to those two things. When it came to almost everything else, Anthony was practically clueless.

After thinking about it from every angle, Anthony finally came to a decision. If he wanted to make a good start, he first needed to find a good company and get himself a job.

While searching information about different companies, he became particularly interested in Yang Industries.

It was a well-known company with an excellent reputation and was part of the massive Yang Consortium, which had businesses spread across numerous field.

If he could somehow get into Yang Industries, he might be able to gradually gain access to the people, resources, and facilities he needed.

Now, after a long hesitation, Anthony finally finished editing the email he had prepared.

He stared at the send button for several seconds before finally clicking it.

’Forget it. Even if I don’t have a proper identity, I might as well try and see what happens. Perhaps a company with such a good reputation can give me the opportunity I need.’

Anthony leaned back in his chair and looked at the screen.

He still had no idea what the future held for him, but at least he had finally taken his first step towards becoming the superhero he dreamed of becoming.

On the other side, inside Yang Tower’s technical department, the technical head, Dr. Jack Lee, was watching the compatibility experiment for the Neural Transceiver with growing disappointment. The progress had once again stalled at fifty percent, and the excitement that had filled his eyes earlier had gradually faded away.
