Chapter 695 - 380: Seems Familiar

In late November, all of Nirvana City was abuzz with celebration.

The streets were filled with parading townsfolk, creating a bustling scene. Every face wore a happy smile.

In the temple, Forbidden Calamity and Liu Feifei listened quietly to the sounds from the city, smiles on both their faces.

A month and a half had passed since the war between the Golden Thread Pavilion and Great Virtue Temple ended. Just as they’d predicted, once the Treasure Temple Domain was unified, the situation across the entire State Territory gradually began to stabilize.

The once-rampant Demon Fiends, deterred by the Golden Thread Pavilion, had settled down. While one couldn’t say the Treasure Temple Domain had returned to its former glory, Demon Fiend attacks on human settlements were becoming increasingly rare.

It was because of this newfound safety that the city’s people were spontaneously celebrating today, parading through the streets with statues they had crafted of the Tripod Bodhisattva and the Crane Immortal held high.

With the Great Virtue Temple now completely destroyed, only Forbidden Calamity and Hai Xin remained. Forbidden Calamity was considering whether he should rebuild the Great Virtue Temple right here in Nirvana City.

But the entire Treasure Temple Domain now belonged to the Golden Thread Pavilion. Establishing a new power at this juncture would mean being subject to the Pavilion’s jurisdiction. Rebuilding the Great Virtue Temple would surely not be permitted and might even court disaster.

So, the matter required careful, long-term consideration.

A month and a half had also passed since Yang An entered the Glazed Tower to go into seclusion. No sound came from within the tower, and Forbidden Calamity couldn’t sense anything about the situation inside.

Although he was worried about Yang An’s situation, there was nothing he could do but worry.

Just as Forbidden Calamity was chatting with Liu Feifei, a streak of red light suddenly shot across the sky and plunged into Nirvana City.

Spotting this, Forbidden Calamity instantly flashed to the top of the temple. Looking into the distance, he saw that the red light was a crimson flame containing astonishing power.

But after entering Nirvana City, the flame didn’t strike anyone. Instead, with a flicker, it flew into the city’s Glazed Tower—Yang An’s place of seclusion.

The townsfolk had also seen the flame arrive. For a moment, they panicked, mistaking it for the appearance of another Demon Fiend.

Inside the Glazed Tower, Yang An, deep in his cultivation, suddenly felt a powerful fluctuation from the Restriction he had placed around the tower. He was instantly roused from his meditative state.

He sensed a familiar aura and immediately opened the Restriction.

Had he been a moment later, the Restriction he set up would have been shattered.

A ball of fire appeared before Yang An, one he recognized. It was a flame from Life Crane.

’So that old guy really did make it back safely!’

As an Immortal Platform, he knew Life Crane would be able to find him. It would have been stranger if he couldn’t.

The flame exploded before Yang An, but a force within deliberately suppressed its might. The flame ultimately collapsed and vanished, leaving behind only two faint words:

"Hurry back!"

It was Life Crane’s voice, summoning him back to the Golden Thread Pavilion.

"This disciple obeys."

Whether Life Crane could see him or not, Yang An maintained the proper bearing of a disciple and responded. ’After all, what if that old guy is hiding somewhere in the shadows?’

After returning the Heart to Forbidden Calamity, Yang An said his goodbyes and departed.

’He was reluctant to leave, but what could he do? He had a mountain of responsibility on his shoulders.’

Since meeting Forbidden Calamity, his kindness and moral compass had made Yang An feel like he’d finally met a decent person. With its protected citizens, this place was an island of peace, entirely out of step with the rest of the world.

It was a long-lost peace, but he knew he would have to leave one day. In the end, he could only look out for himself.

However, though his time here was rushed and short, it had not been without its rewards over the past month and a half.

With the help of Forbidden Calamity’s Power of Rules, he had indeed saved himself a great deal of effort. After its price had been Purified, the thing was like a cheat code that brought mental clarity, making his cultivation feel divinely assisted.

During this time, Yang An had successfully fused with Hai Xin’s Demonic Thought, combining it with the Sacrificial Bone within his body.

Unexpectedly, however, the originally solemn and sacred Buddha’s Light Wheel changed after fusing with the Demonic Thought, becoming dark and sinister.

The Buddha’s Radiance had become Demonic Radiance. When unleashed, the wheel behind Yang An was gone, replaced by a Bone Wheel. It looked like ghastly white bones linked end to end, emitting a black, malevolent light.

Unlike the other radiances he had mastered, Yang An sensed an aura of annihilation and destruction from the malevolent light of the Bone Wheel—and even a hint of some corrupting presence.

He could imagine that anyone bathed in this light would either be twisted into a Demon Fiend or be utterly annihilated.

Since the costs associated with the Sacrificial Bone and the Demonic Thought had both been Purified by Yang An, this new Bone Wheel came with no price, and it also had no name.

So Yang An gave it a new name—the Outer Path Demon Ring!

In addition to the Outer Path Demon Ring, Yang An also used the Seven-Colored Dust he obtained to master the third physical transformation and tempering of the Jade Kala Vajra Body. He then used this to master the third layer of the Red Wheel Infinite Body, and began attempting to fuse radiances other than the Three Spiritual Light.
