The Deadly Martial Arts of Online Games
Chapter 302: After the Fight, I’ll Send You All Away Together
Chen Gang was deeply shaken.
At first, he had thought that Su Wangchuan was merely talented in unarmed combat. Surely his skill with weapons would be average.
But he had not expected this…
When Su Wangchuan picked up a spear or a staff, his movements were steady, precise, and effortless. At a glance, it was obvious that he had already put serious work into weapon techniques as well.
“Bajiquan Spear Technique emphasizes stability. The spearhead must remain absolutely steady! Try holding a straight-line spear stance.”
Still clinging to a sliver of hope, Chen Gang deliberately gave Su Wangchuan a difficult test, asking him to grip the spear with both hands and keep the spearhead perfectly still.
Su Wangchuan smiled faintly.
He simply demonstrated the stance with one hand.
Holding the spear with a single hand, he pointed the spearhead directly at the Wing Chun Wooden Dummy. The tip remained perfectly motionless.
“…”Chen Gang was rendered speechless and immediately gave up resisting.
“Since your fundamentals are already so solid and you fully meet the requirements to cultivate the Bajiquan Spear Technique, I won’t waste time with explanations. Let’s go straight to the moves. I’ll teach you the techniques and key points of the Bajiquan Spear Technique.”
“Alright.”
Chen Gang held a spear and began carefully breaking down each move and explaining them step by step.
Even he did not understand why he had so easily revealed all the secret techniques of the Bajiquan Martial Arts Gym.
Perhaps he did not want to be looked down upon by a practitioner of ancient martial arts.
Or perhaps he simply wanted to see where the limits of Su Wangchuan’s talent truly lay.
Deep down, there might even have been a trace of expectation—hoping to witness the rise of a genuine martial arts prodigy.
And Su Wangchuan did not disappoint him.
By the afternoon, he had reached Entry-Level.
By the evening, he had already achieved Minor Mastery.
By the next morning, he had advanced the Third-Rank Martial Art 《Bajiquan Spear Technique》 to Practice Makes Perfect.
The only regret was that the Bajiquan Spear Technique overlapped with the Po Jun Twelve Spear. Because of this duplication, his training produced no attribute rewards.
However…
Learning the Bajiquan Spear Technique had merely been his stepping stone.
What he truly had his eyes on were Monkey Fist, Praying Mantis Fist, and Drunken Fist.
Su Wangchuan suspected that these three martial arts might contain niche cultivation methods.
If he could master even one niche cultivation method, it would be equivalent to earning at least seven or eight hundred taels of gold.
A massive profit.
Chen Gang had already completely given up resisting. Toward Wangchuan, he was now basically willing to grant any request.
After all, he had already revealed all the secrets of his martial arts gym. There was no longer any point in holding anything back.
One martial art per day.
Within a few days, Su Wangchuan had mastered three additional styles.
Monkey Fist granted no attribute increases.
Praying Mantis Fist also granted no attributes.
But Drunken Fist was indeed a First-Rank niche boxing style. Like Snake Fist, it was a balanced attribute martial art, granting him 2 points of Strength and 1 point of Agility.
His attributes became:
Strength: 57
Agility: 61
Stamina: 66
Seeing that Chen Gang had nearly been drained of all his martial arts knowledge, Wangchuan was preparing to leave the Bajiquan Martial Arts Gym and look for other opportunities inside spirit realm.
But an unexpected incident occurred.
While he was inspecting matters inside the game, his phone rang.
He had no choice but to return to his room and log off.
When he looked at the caller ID, it was Chen Gang.
“Master Chen.”
Su Wangchuan joked lightly.
“Did you suddenly remember another martial art you want to teach me?”
On the other end came the sound of Chen Gang coughing.
“Brother Su…”
“Sorry, but there’s something I may need your help with. I’m at the Bajiquan Martial Arts Gym right now…”
“I’ll be there immediately.”
Su Wangchuan’s expression instantly darkened.
From Chen Gang’s unstable breathing, weak voice, and the hoarse noise in his chest, it sounded as though he had been injured and coughed up blood.
Su Wangchuan immediately rushed out of the Warring States Building and headed straight for the Bajiquan Martial Arts Gym.
Inside the octagonal cage arena of the gym, Chen Gang was slumped against the cage wall. Blood stained his mouth, his chest, and the floor around him.
Standing opposite him was a tall and powerfully built man in training clothes.
A disdainful smirk hung on his face as he slowly removed his boxing gloves and tossed them onto the ground.
“Since the head of the Bajiquan Martial Arts Gym has made the rules, you can’t go back on your word. If you lose, the gym belongs to me. You must honor that agreement.”
“Calling someone for help now—what kind of move is that?”
The man’s name was Gao Chong.
After hearing about the rules of the Bajiquan Martial Arts Gym, he had come specifically to challenge the gym.
In the first fight, he had knocked Chen Gang into coughing blood within just over ten moves.
“The second rule of the gym: three victories out of three matches.”
Chen Gang spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva and forced a faint smile.
“Only after winning three matches can you take the gym. You can go to the front desk and read the rules clearly.”
“What a hassle! That’s exactly why I challenged the head of the gym directly!” Gao Chong sneered. “You’re not planning to bring in outside help, are you?”
Chen Gang nodded calmly.
“He’s a student of the Bajiquan Martial Arts Gym. He paid his fees.”
“If you want to see his payment records, I can provide them.”
“…”
Hearing that the challenger was a registered student of the gym, Gao Chong stopped arguing.
“Fine.”
“I’d like to see what kind of disciple your Bajiquan Martial Arts Gym can produce.”
Just as he finished speaking, the elevator doors opened at the end of the hallway.
“So fast?”
Gao Chong was startled and turned toward the corridor.
A gust of wind rushed in from outside.
Gao Chong’s expression suddenly changed.
Such incredible speed!
The newcomer…
was clearly an expert.
But when he saw the young man’s face, he immediately relaxed.
“Running that fast? What are you, a track athlete?”
How powerful could someone so young possibly be?
Even if he was a player from spirit realm like himself, he probably had only been in the game for a year at most.
Su Wangchuan walked in and immediately saw Chen Gang slumped inside the cage arena.
A sharp glint of anger flashed in his eyes.
He had not known Chen Gang for long—barely a week.
But Chen Gang was an honest martial artist with no schemes or ulterior motives.
And when he had taught Su Wangchuan martial arts, he had done so wholeheartedly, helping him tremendously.
Seeing Chen Gang beaten into such a state filled Su Wangchuan’s chest with fury.
He cast a cold glance at the other man in the arena, then silently stepped into the octagonal cage.
Passing by Gao Chong without a word, he walked straight to Chen Gang’s side.
“Sorry for causing you trouble.”
Chen Gang looked ashamed.
“I didn’t want the Bajiquan Martial Arts Gym to be taken away like this.”
Su Wangchuan patted his shoulder.
“Don’t worry. I’m here.”
Then he examined Chen Gang’s injuries.
“You’ve probably broken several ribs. Don’t move yet. I’ll call a doctor.”
“Call a doctor for what?!”
Gao Chong stood with his hands on his hips and shouted loudly.
“Finish the fight first! Afterward, I’ll send all of you to the hospital together!”
“Come on! You’re the one he called, right?”
Su Wangchuan stood up and clenched his fists.
Chen Gang quietly warned him,
“His techniques are unusual. I’ve never seen them before. I barely lasted a dozen moves against him… be careful.”
“Don’t worry.”
Hearing that Chen Gang had managed to last more than ten moves, Su Wangchuan already had a rough estimate of the opponent’s strength.
At most—Third Rank.
Su Wangchuan turned and faced Gao Chong.
“You came alone? If you end up in the hospital with no one to take care of you, won’t that be rather pitiful?”
“You’re courting death!”
Gao Chong’s eyes turned cold as he rushed forward.
His palm cut through the air like a claw, grabbing toward Su Wangchuan’s face.
