The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities
Chapter 1021: Su Huan
Chapter 1021: Chapter 1021: Su Huan
Han Jing whispered to Su Yu, "Let’s go to the dungeon first and find Su Huan. I think He’s the key."
Su Yu nodded.
On the other side, Xia Wu was still raving mad, it was probably going to be very hard for She to calm down and regain reason. Even though She was also someone of the Xia Clan, with some ties to Su Yu, but... after all, so many years had passed, and it was hard to say whether Xia Wu even knew that, aside from the Futu Realm, there was still a legitimate branch of the Xia Clan, so... there was no way to count on Her to quiet down and have a proper talk with Them.
Han Jing and Su Yu managed to find out the location of the dungeon, then slipped into it.
It had to be said, the mechanisms set up here were quite exquisite, very much in the Xia Clan style. If it were anyone else, it probably wouldn’t be easy to crack, but Su Yu, as the Clan Leader of the Xia Clan, wasn’t stumped by any of this.
So Han Jing and the others entered the dungeon very smoothly.
The dungeon was lined with iron doors, one cell after another. It was probably a secret prison, so there actually weren’t many guards. Mechanisms and Barriers were everywhere, making it very hard for ordinary people to get in or out.
Han Jing and the others found the cell where Su Huan was being held. There wasn’t even a single guard nearby, the silence was terrifying.
Han Jing glanced around, rapidly laid down a Barrier, opened the iron door and went in, then disguised the door again, so that even if someone came by, they wouldn’t see that it had been opened.
She set up a Barrier inside the cell as well, so no sound could be heard from outside.
Su Huan was sitting alone in the corner of the cell, his hair in disarray, the white robes on His body stained with Blood and filth, looking utterly bedraggled.
Yet the most wretched thing was not His appearance right now. His features were handsome, His figure a bit on the thin side, but He had a quiet temperament; a youth who, at first glance, made people feel very comfortable. But the murky, numb look in His eyes at this moment was more wretched than that of a beggar.
He didn’t even register that Han Jing and Su Yu were standing inside the dungeon; He had no awareness at all, still slumped against the wall, eyes empty and lifeless.
"Su Huan? Su Huan?" Han Jing called twice, and Su Huan didn’t react in the slightest.
Han Jing reached out and waved Her hand in front of His eyes, but Su Huan still didn’t even blink!
Han Jing...
"Xia Zhuzi!" Han Jing suddenly called out. At that shout, Su Huan finally reacted; light flared in His eyes, and He lifted His head in sudden agitation.
"Zhu’er..." The gentle yet urgent voice carried an uncontrollable depth of feeling, but however deep it was, in the instant He raised His head, that was how deep His disappointment became.
He lowered His gaze, gave a self-mocking little laugh, and His expression collapsed back into the same desolate state as before.
Han Jing...
"Su Huan, clear your head a bit. The dead can’t come back to life. Staying here like this—have you thought about what’s happening outside? Have you thought about your parents, your family? Do you know what’s become of them?" From the look on Su Huan’s face just now when he heard Xia Zhuzi’s name, Han Jing knew He was truly sincere toward Xia Zhuzi.
But no matter how deep His feelings, nothing could be reversed.
No matter what He chose, there were still more important things that needed to be dealt with. This kind of numbness and escape was useless.
Han Jing knew that only someone who had personally gone through this kind of thing would know how excruciating it was, how it made one wish for death. But however painful, in the end one still had to think of those who were alive. He was not alone; He still had family.
