The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities
Chapter 1017: Frightened to Nervous Breakdown
Chapter 1017: Chapter 1017: Frightened to Nervous Breakdown
Passing through the backyard to the main courtyard of the Su Mansion, it was still frighteningly cold and quiet. This grand mansion was as silent as if it were uninhabited in broad daylight, which surprised Han Jing and the others even more.
"Is anyone there?" Reaching a courtyard that seemed inhabited, Han Jing and the others didn’t want to barge in recklessly, so they called out twice from the entrance.
No response.
Could it be that something happened?
Han Jing and the others couldn’t worry about being impolite anymore, so they directly pushed the door open and entered. The courtyard remained quiet, the main hall door, and doors of the adjacent rooms were all firmly shut.
Han Jing went up and shook it, but there was no movement.
She then applied a bit of force, "Bang," pushing open the door that was locked from the inside.
Then came the "Ah—" several piercing screams.
Han Jing...
That’s when she saw, under the living room table, a few people were hiding, looking disheveled and extremely haggard.
"Ah—" "Ah—" The screams rose and fell, making everyone’s eardrums hurt.
The people under the table clutched their heads and screamed, obviously scared out of their wits.
Han Jing...
"Hey, stop screaming, we’re humans, not ghosts. Come out now!" Han Jing seriously suspected that these people were already scared witless.
When she finished speaking, the only response she got was even more piercing screams.
Han Jing was speechless.
"If you don’t want to die, come out!" Han Jing shouted loudly.
The people inside immediately quieted down.
Indeed, dealing with people scared out of their wits could not be done by normal means. Comforting was entirely useless; scaring them further was the only effective way.
"Heroine, spare our lives! Please spare us, it really has nothing to do with us, we don’t know what’s going on either. Heroine, spare our lives, forgive us!—" The people crawled out from under the table, desperately kowtowing to Han Jing and the others.
Han Jing...
"Shi Qi, check to see if they’ve all gone insane. If they have, there’s no need to ask them questions." Han Jing said.
"No, please, help us—" "We’re begging you, don’t kill us—" Five or six people immediately huddled together.
Han Jing...
This is truly madness.
Ning Shiqi pushed the wheelchair over. Instead of checking whether they were really insane, he took out a silver needle and quickly pricked each of them.
Then, miraculously, these people quieted down.
"This is just to temporarily calm them. Jing’er, if you have any questions to ask, you can do so now." Ning Shiqi withdrew the silver needle and stepped aside.
Han Jing looked at those people: "Lift your heads first."
At first, there was no reaction from them, but after a while, they slowly raised their heads one after another, looking towards Han Jing and the others.
Han Jing saw their eyes, which were still somewhat dull, suggesting that they had been terrified for days, probably suffering from nervous exhaustion.
Now, they were in disarray, appearing like beggars in their own home, making it hard to discern their features and ages.
"Who are you in relation to Young Master Su?" Han Jing asked.
After a long while, a woman in the middle began to cry: "Miss, we, we... I am Huan’er’s mother. Our Huan’er and the Miss were deeply in love, and he always had a gentle temperament. It’s impossible for him to have argued with the Miss. He liked her so much, why would he disregard her illness, knowing she had a heart condition?"
