The Dawn of the New World

Chapter 951 - Bigger Picture

"Interesting..."

Dai Zhi and the other protectors heard the Abysswalker speak up so they all listened in.

"He could have easily broken through to the Profound Realm, yet he lingers on the edge, Why is he still holding back when he already has three complete laws? Is he going for a fourth?"

Obviously this was a rhetorical question and mostly meant to inform the others of Stasa's true ability. They might not be able to tell but to him it couldn't be clearer.

The cyclone was hiding two more unique laws inside it, although even he couldn't tell what they were from a single glance.

"Complete laws?!" Tian Zheng repeated, flabbergasted by the revelation.

It wasn't too far-fetched to see two or even three laws being cultivated at the same time among cultivators of their caliber, especially if they belonged to a great faction. Both Tian Zheng and Dai Zhi also cultivated three laws each, but they weren't "complete".

Having a complete law meant that it was at the very least at the second tier with its own ability.

Similarly, having three complete meant each one was matured to the second tier at the very least with their own territories. As far as they knew, no one among them had achieved something like that so far. Well, no one excluding Stasa.

'That son of a whore has been hiding his real abilities,' Tian Zheng cursed inwardly.

'Look like I will need to reaccess Stasa's value,' Dai Zhi was thinking along the same lines.

Only Dima appeared to be unbothered but no one noticed his lack of interest. His mind was elsewhere at the moment, on something far more important.

The thousands of people within the stands were all forced to sit back down under the immense pressure from Stasa's mind palaces. To them that had only recently begun their cultivation journey, this was not something they could easily contend with.

It felt like each person had close to a few hundred kilos worth of baggage hanging from their shoulders. Just staying upright was proven to be such a difficult task that they needed to use their own Qi's to fight against it.

But Hao Xuan who was in the dead center of the main source of this crushing force remained unmoved. It was not because he couldn't feel the pressure but that most of it was automatically neutralized by the lycan bloodline.

He glanced at the struggling spectators hidden behind multiple layers of defensive barriers that still couldn't stand on their own two feet while he could move freely and suddenly, a sense of self-enlightenment dawned on him.

It was like many different pieces of a puzzle were all coming together to create one big picture.

'The Lycan bloodline provides immunity to curses, magic, to most natural and unnatural forces. It allows me to see the things hidden within plain sight, those that go unseen by most others, those that are not of this plane. Even the territories of other Laws could barely affect me, just like now.'

'The Chaos Law competes directly with other laws no matter what kind they are. It gives me my own ground to fight on no matter how greatly outnumbered or out-skilled I am.'

'My physique, as immature as it is, allows me to devour objects and 'things' alike, making them my own. Most poisons cannot kill me, the extreme temperatures cannot harm me. I can even replenish my own Qi by devouring others and could potentially keep fighting as long as there was matter to absorb.'

'My constitution gives me loyal soldiers, those who would fight for me regardless of their own thoughts and sentiments. I can take their power for myself, strengthen my own abilities without end.'

'Other than my constitution all the rest I came upon either by complete coincidence or the natural flow of events but...was it really by chance? Everything just...fits so perfectly together. Each aspect of my powers strengthens the other. If even one of them was missing then I would be much weaker in one-on-one combat than any of my counterparts.'

'I know I should feel good about having them but...why do they feel more like a burden rather than a gift? Was what Hyde said the truth? Is this all...'

He didn't have the heart to finish that line of thought because it would mean he was not his own man. That all this time, someone or something else was guiding him from the shadows towards an uncertain end.

'I must talk to Jin Wang as soon as possible. He has to know something about this. I think it's time I ask him for the truth, at long last.'

The great ice sword was almost completely formed by this point. The eight mind palaces encircling it finally detached entirely from the cyclone taking the shape of 70-80 meter long serpents made of ice and wind. But their orbiting speeds only increased from there on out until they were so bright that their original forms were barely visible.

The air turned solid as Hao Xuan's senses all started firing at full blast warning him of the incoming danger.
