The Dawn of the New World

Chapter 759 - The Blood Bearer

Lazar was kneeling over Hao Xuan, grinning from ear to ear while watching him squirm in dreadful pain in a futile attempt to resist the power of his 'territory'.

'Bloodline Integration Successful.'

*Thump* X2

Hao Xuan's heart thumped heavily against his chest, as if announcing to all enemies of his defiance.

Lazar's expression suddenly turned grim and he took a step back.

Hao Xuan who couldn't even close his eyes until a few seconds was now standing straight. He looked leaner, a lot more skinner than before. His bulging muscles halved in size but somehow, he 'felt' stronger.

Lazar frowned seeing Hao Xuan casually standing while still within his territory.

He extended his right hand, bringing the complete manifestation of his law into the world, or as much as he could with over 90% of his actual power sealed.

The pressure within a 150 meters of him suddenly quadrupled. The avian beast swiftly lept back so as not to get caught in it but all the smaller beasts were not so lucky.

The weaker ones were the first to go, all the ones below the Spirit Realm. It looked like an invisible hammer had struck them down, turning them into little more than puddles of blood and guts.

While the stronger ones fell to the ground due to the immense pressure. They cried from pain, loosening hoarse howls from their gullets. Only it wasn't the pressure that was causing them pain, but the Law itself.

In a little over 3 seconds, each beast had turned into a semi-solid substance. Rocky spikes jutted out of their bodies, expanding in size, density, and quantity until they looked like horrible miscreations that were half flesh and half rock and metal.

This was the power of a law.

Lazar's Law was already at the 7th tier which meant he could gain full control over all metallic substances within the range of his territory.

Using his own power he could turn a nugget of gold into a mountain if he had all his powers but even now, with the mere fraction of his abilities unsealed, he could still kill any living being that did not have a law of its own.

With his Law, Lazar was able to control the trace amounts of metals that are found within every living creature and use them to kill everything from inside out.

Or at least that's what was supposed to happen.

Where all other beasts, dead or alive, turned into misshapen metallic sculptures, Hao Xuan was unfazed. His chest heaved up and down normally as everything within 150 meters of him had turned to rock and stone.

Lazar could not believe what he was seeing. This was a LAW! And one that was at a relatively high tier to boot.

Hao Xuan raised his hands, blankly staring at his claw-like nails that shone with a dark glimmer while muttering to himself.

"So this is it, the power of a Lycan bloodline? I understand why they were almost wiped out now..."

The lycan blood coursing through his veins woke something inside of him. A series of memories that were sealed within the blood itself. It was only because he reached almost 50% blood purity level that some of the memories showed themselves.

They revealed a series of events, from a long, LONG time ago, of the one that was called the 'Blood Bearer', the one from whom Hao Xuan's bloodline descended.

He was the first being that stood in defiance to the Ancient Gods and it was his bloodline that was now running through Hao Xuan's veins that allowed him to do so.

A single sentence resounded within Hao Xuan's ears, louder and more clearer than anything he had ever heard in his life.

'My blood shall set you free, unshackled and without restraint!'

No law or power could ever affect a being of the Lycan bloodline. That was the core of the Lycanthropes, among whose ranks Hao Xuan now stood.

He raised his head to meet Lazar's bewildered gaze, "You don't feel as threatening anymore."

Hao Xuan bent his knees, aiming straight ahead. Lazar's black eyes widened as he felt a tinge of fear crawl up his spine. It was shouting at him to kill Hao Xuan before he could move a muscle.

What little bit of Chaos Qi was still left in Hao Xuan's body was pulled towards his legs.

'Demonic Steps-'

This was the second time Hao Xuan had used demonic steps with Chaos Qi but he still wasn't used to it, mostly because of how strange the resulting technique was.

'-Maelstrom of Chaos!'

When he pushed against the ground a low rumble echoed in the nearby space before Hao Xuan's body turned into a ball of ash and smoke, shooting towards Lazar's face.

He hadn't actually dematerialized but used the Chaos Qi to surround himself in such a way that he broke free from the natural laws that held him back.

The gravity couldn't bring him down nor could the friction slow his advance as he waved through the jungle of metallic spikes that shot out of the ground in an attempt to block him.
