Chapter 49 - Masterpiece

"What a magnificent work of art!"

Meanwhile, on a much further location in a secluded forest clearing, a figure quite similar to Felicia was excitedly cheering at this new creation in front of her.

What exactly was in front of her was a new surprise that had never been seen in this world before. Checking her masterpiece with her appraisal skill, she was able to confirm that even the skill appraisal had approved of this crowning achievement of hers.

Name: None

Race: Alchemy Hydra

Level: ???

Skill: Dragon Scales, Poison Breath, Poison Magic, Phoenix Breath, Intermediate Magic Immunity, Intermediate Skill immunity, Stomach storage space, High Speed Regeneration...

In front of her was a five headed dragon that seemed to be the absolute epitome of destruction and fear as even while inactive and asleep it still spread a large intimidating field around it simply while it was asleep. Purple in color and with sharp horns protruding from each head, along its body it was covered in purple scales that were lined in black at its edges. Although its claws were less on the sharp side, it appeared far more sturdy with faint traces of purple flowing through the textured surface of the claw. Small thorns lined its body giving the figure an even more jagged outline overall.

Seeing it all, the figure could not help but laugh in glee at this creation of hers.

"The last piece of the puzzle for the creation of life is to breathe vitality into this beast. Then let me start this crowning moment! The coronation of the ultimate life form that this world would never be able fell normally!"

Extending her palm, a massive spell circle emerged that then expanded to surround not only the beast, but also herself.

"I, Alice, solemnly declare that in accordance to the ancient ritual of life I grant thee with wisdom of the stars!"

A crown shaped silhouette made up of stars then emerged upon the center head of the hydra. The originally stale and indiscriminate wave of dragon aura then seemed to shiver and shift. Like a bear waking from hibernation or a butterfly emerging from a pupa.

Sinister purple light glinted from the figure's eyes as she chanted the next phrase in her ritual.

"Melt into the natural order, and receive the breathe of nature and life as the world blesses your arrival!"

*thump*

*thump*

The sound of a heartbeat echoed around in the surroundings. Then with a bright gaze, she looked at the figure cheerfully as she began to now slightly thin out.

"Finally, let a will newly born take upon itself the crown of the extraordinary. From Chalk to All Creation, let my wonderful creation be born!"

Waves of mana flowed out as the previously closed eyes of the beast slowly twitched.

And then it snapped open.

Tearing shockwaves echoed through the empty forest as the beast now possessed a heart beat and a new will of its own. Looking upon this piece with satisfaction, she then watched as the beast locked eyes with hers and charge a blow in its mouths.

"Oh? Are you playing disobedient? Well that is fine. It gives me the opportunity to try out some skills of my own! Just to make it easy on you, I will only play with a single element. Let me see..."

Checking her list of spells, right when the beast was fully charged she finally decided what kind of magic to use.

Vroom!

Like a laser cutting through the air, several jet streams of concentrated toxic lasers shot towards her location and an explosion of smoke covered the area.

But the hydra did not lose its attention. Having just been born, it trusted the instincts carved into its being and stepped back and prepared a second bombardment.

As expected, when the smoke cleared a thin barrier of wind blocked between the two and the girl then showed a bright smile.

"How intriguing. I would have thought that a new born consciousness would have gotten arrogant or something. A pity. I was wanting to wait for you to turn your back so I could punish you for it. No biggie."

A bright smile flashed upon her face as wings made of green energy spread open from her back. Her eyes glowed with a fervor for more as a suit of armor made of condensed wind wrapped around her body leaving no traces of her previous figure.

Levitating in the air, she then suddenly vanished.

Sharply sending his heads to look in different directions, the girl clicked her tongue as she watched the newly prepare attacks fire up at her.

"Those heads sure are useful for you. Let's see how skillful you are with them!"

Wind Magic - Thousand Cutting Edge!

Above her, wide blades then constantly rained down on the hydra. Every single blade leaving small cuts all throughout the hydra leaving the beast shrouded in its own blood. With a quick flap, she easily flickered past the rather obvious shots of poison that fired at her.

"This lasers were at least a bit fast to dodge easily. Why did you-"

Interrupting her was a secret hidden laser fired instead from the center of the heads rather than from the mouths of the beast. This time, she did not cast a barrier as her wings quickly covered in front of her and blocked the full brunt of the blow.

"How interesting. You really are more creative than you look. I will really enjoy playing with you!"

As she said that, the flesh around the cut portions of its skin started to stretch out and reconnect. Soon after a few seconds all the wounds inflicted upon it had been stitched together and after that the scars from the wounds quickly disappeared as the hydra became renewed.

Holding out her palm in front of her, the girl then quietly chanted as a whip made of pure wind energy formed in her palm to which she grasped. Lashing the whip to the side, she nodded in approval at her work before turning her gaze upon the beast ahead.

Unlike before, instead of directly attacking, the hydra then released a poisonous miasma breath that quickly spread over the whole surroundings. In a few seconds, an area the size of about three football fields was covered in toxic mist that quickly corroded and withered all life around.

The few remaining monsters who did not feel the aura emitted by the hydra had all melted into the swamp like domain as many creatures big and small could be seen running as far from the battle field as possible.

Toxic fumes reached up and around and surrounded the entire area of the battle as the girl then released a small wind barrier to prevent the poison from seeping in.

Compared to the deep forest green of her offensive wind, this wind was a bright blueish turquoise that shone like a shimmering galaxy.

"Healing Wind. Let's see how creative you can be with this terrain boost."

Without stopping then beast from releasing its domain, she simply watched as she held her whip in both hands. After a continued pause, she decided to make the first move.

"Since you won't go ahead, I will simply assume you will allow THIS!"

Whipping forward, the wind whip extended out towards the hydra in an instantaneous movement and quickly lashed out and cut one of the beast's heads off. With a loud roar, the beast then retaliated by creating multiple eastern style poison dragons to rush forward to come after the girl. Then it shot lasers continuously to help deal with her powerful wind barrier.

"Ha, how interesting. You actually learned quite a bit. You imbued the air with a special toxin?"

Commenting on her creation's performance, she then let a laser and poison hydra hit her which broke the turquoise barrier around her.

Although she did that and the hydra felt the blow land and its toxins infiltrate, the beast then had an ominous premonition. As its head regenerated, the beast lowered its body and sank down into the swamp like domain that it had created.

"Phew, this toxin isn't bad at all! Worthy of being my creation. After all, Poison magic is one that I had learned a while back. Oh? Don't been such a hurry to leave, darling~"

The smoke around her was quickly dispersed by a flap of a wing of hers as her new changes revealed themselves. The hydra squinted as it watched her now floating in place with her energy wings covered in purple rather than green.

Her whip had now changed to have purple thorns grown lining the whip. Bringing it up to her lips, she gave it a gentle lick with her tongue and squinted in enjoyment.

Then she struck out towards the hydra with her whip which released a cutting edge flying slash to the beast. Now the wind cutter had a purple edge to complement the original dark green hue of the blade.

With a swift movement, the slash ended up lopping off three of the hydra's heads to which the girl showed a surprised expression.

"Oh? It seems that my aim was off. I was expecting to slice off four of your heads, but you were able to let two of them dodge my strike. Well, playtime should be over soon. I will let you off easy by showing you the gap between us."

Then she raised her left hand up into the air and a large magic circle expanded above her palm. Then, as if all of the air in the vicinity had been sucked out, the hydra was writhing about in pain which caused the remaining poison dragons to all go off balance. The beast could only watch in horror as an eye emerged from the spell circle.

"Wind Magic - Summon Eye of the Storm!"

The massive eyeball emerging had seemed to suck the air out of the area, but now that it was realized, the eye no longer emanated such a presence. Although that was the case, the hydra grew even more uneasy from the situation and wanted to flee. Its struggling had only led the eye to lock on to its figure in an instant as the girl waved her hand at the hydra.

For the hydra, all then came to nothing. In an instant, the world seemed to disappear into an empty void of nothingness. After seemingly a short yet also long moment, it was suddenly reawakened.

In front of it was a mass blank space that seemed gouged out by something like a meteor. Although it knew not what that was, it seemed like the right words to describe the scene in front of it.

Ahead was the girl who had brought the beast to life, sitting one leg crossed over the other swirling a wine glass that shimmered with the radiance of a rainbow.

"Will you submit?" She asked.

In response, the beast then slowly lowered its head. The previous battle was head on without trickery and the opponent in front of it had also been the one to create itself. So it bowed in subservience to which the girl smiled.

"You shall be known as the Disaster Beast, Hydra Calyx."

With her words, a phantom golden crown was placed upon the center of the beast's head and with it came a sudden burst of knowledge and power.

Looking upon its master with a newborn sense of loyalty and obedience, the beast allowed her to walk up to and caress its hard scales.

Then, once she was satisfied, she tore open a massive rift in space large enough to encompass his body and motioned for it to enter. Without objections, the beast walked through and was met with a massive space that looked similar to a swamp.

"This shall be your resting space. I will call upon you later once I need your assistance. For now, stay here and don't destroy the space too much."

With a nod, the beast watched as its master then opened another portal and left through it. Now being left alone, the hydra finally decided to close its eyes and absorb all of the knowledge within itself and prepare to be called at anytime.

Around it, a now passive aura of a domain expanded and retracted as it breathed as it slowly left its mark on this swamp space. The plants all began to show signs of withering mostly, but a few struggled to grow and develop all changing and mutating in unclear ways. All of this was unknown to the hydra who kept on absorbing all of the knowledge and memory within its blood and mind.
