Prince Kang’s originally impatient heart softened upon hearing these words.

"Alright, alright, don’t be angry. I’ll go ask, okay?" Prince Kang held Concubine Qin’s hand, speaking helplessly.

"That’s more like it." Concubine Qin smiled through her tears, resting her head on Prince Kang’s chest, "I knew Prince treats me the best."

"You... I really can’t do anything about you." Prince Kang also started to smile.

...

Having promised Concubine Qin to inquire, Prince Kang decided to ask Princess in the evening. In reality, he never thought Princess would agree, nor did he genuinely want to help Concubine Qin take over the shop; he was merely putting on a façade. His main purpose was to see if Princess had calmed down.

This time, Prince Kang didn’t climb the wall but entered through the back gate.

The main gate was shut tight, pitch black. But after calling it open, Prince Kang was surprised to find the backyard was brightly lit, like daylight.

Lanterns hung under the eaves, and faint sounds of melodies along with laughter could be heard ahead.

Prince Kang furrowed his brows, suddenly recalling the housekeeper’s previous response when he asked what Princess was doing.

Did the housekeeper say Princess reveled every night?

Could this be true?

Prince Kang quickened his pace, heading towards the source of the music.

He finally arrived at the main hall and witnessed a lively scene before him.

At the center of the hall, ten gracefully moving women, dressed uniformly, were dancing in unison, while musicians played on both sides of the hall.

At the topmost section of the hall, Princess was languidly reclining on the Imperial Concubine’s couch, enjoying the dance with great interest. Xia He was massaging Princess’s legs, Chun Lan was feeding peeled grapes, Qiu Ju was fanning Princess, and Dong Mei was cutting fruit nearby.

Seeing Prince Kang arrive, Princess didn’t even lift her eyelids.

"Princess." Prince Kang stepped into the hall, called out solemnly.

"Oh, you’ve come. You all may leave now." Princess waved to dismiss the performers in the hall.

"Princess has quite the high spirits." Prince Kang sat down beside, remarked in an indifferent tone.

"Not quite as much as Prince. What brings you here?" Princess asked blandly.

"Ah, it’s nothing really. Just coming to see Princess." Hearing Princess’s cold tone, Prince Kang immediately changed his words. He didn’t even wish to ask casually now, knowing it would be in vain.

"So, have you thought it through and are willing to divorce?" Princess asked again.

"Impossible!" Prince Kang immediately denied loudly.

"Oh, it seems you’ve made up your mind not to divorce." Princess said indifferently.

"Don’t even think about it, it’s out of the question." Prince Kang replied gritting his teeth.

"Well, alright then. No divorce, as you wish." Princess’s tone suddenly turned lazy.

"Princess, is this... not angry anymore?" Prince Kang asked with some pleasure.

"If there’s no divorce, I’m still your Princess, right? Then, Prince, shouldn’t you support me? The money you gave last time has run out." Princess smiled, speaking very directly.

"Once it’s used up, I’ll give you more. I’ll have the housekeeper deliver it soon." Prince Kang, seeing Princess finally relent and not mention divorce, felt a breath of relief. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to explain to the Emperor.

"Alright, open a door in the wall later. It will be easier for you and the housekeeper to come and go in the future. Otherwise, having to circle around, what would outsiders think?" Princess chuckled lightly.
