The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 637: Reincarnation

Chapter 637: Reincarnation

"La, la, la...la, la la" I hum cheerfully to myself as I head down into the castle’s underground. A few maids who see me bow.

"Goddess of the Apocalypse, do you desire anything?" They ask politely. I’m not the Demon King anymore, and I have to say—it’s good for my ego to hear my goddess title. I thought it wouldn’t be, but I actually enjoy this divine worship.

"No, just tell my wives I’ll be late for dinner." I activate a secret passage. From here on, the walls and floor are made of flesh—pieces of Shogo.

Shogo isn’t here, but that angelic bitch is. The futanari "heroine" whose fluids are constantly extracted. I hum, listening to my voice echo through the empty corridors until I reach the place.

I see that whore chained to the wall. The moment she sees me, her eyes fill with dread.

"Hello, Ren. Miss me? A little crow told me you tried to escape while I was gone. More than once. How bold." I smile maliciously at Ren. I don’t feel that insane thirst for revenge anymore.

She’s clearly cooled down a lot, but the truth is—I’m stressed. Since I came out of the abyss, I’ve become much more patient. But after seeing that my daughters are a bunch of failures who let me down, I tried to overlook it. They’re my daughters, and my expectations were high.

But the reality is, stress from various things has been slowly building up. And now I’ve got the perfect sex doll to vent my anger on. Not that I want sex, of course.

The truth is, I’m starving for some good old-fashioned torture. And there’s nothing better than torturing a bitch who thinks she can run from me. I’m still a monster. Even if everything has visibly cooled down, that fact will never change.

"You know, Ren, I’m so frustrated. My first disappointment as a mother... having children is so hard. It’s kind of disgusting to feel disappointment, too." She starts crying with the gag in her mouth, shaking her head as if she wants to say something.

"But luckily, you’re here to satisfy my urge to hurt something. I learned some really crazy things, you know? And I’m really looking forward to testing them. Though my time here will be short—I have dinner with my wives in an hour."

"..."

"What’s that? Nothing? Okay, then!! That’s great!! REALLY... I really wanted to test some things. Torture had become impossible for my real body, but now it’s perfect!" I let the hatred pour out without holding back.

Because holding hatred against my daughters isn’t good. Besides, I was reviewing my memories and realized I hate that little bitch named Olivia—my daughters’ ’pet.’

"You’re a mother too, aren’t you, Ren? A tentacle mother, from what I hear. Ever felt jealous of your children? Ah, I felt a little jealous of how easy—... oops, almost said too much there. Well, forget it." I create a large table with various torture tools just to scare her.

"The point is, I want to test something. I’m sure that little bitch Elysia will save her soul with reincarnation. But blocking reincarnation is VERY hard... so I have some time to test..." Ren cries desperately, understanding where I’m going with this.

"Hahaha, I LOVE it when things come together to benefit me. Torture, venting anger, and figuring out how to stop Elysia’s reincarnation!! Three birds with one stone. Isn’t it perfect?" I spread my arms wide as if presenting myself to her.

"Don’t cry so much, Ren. It’s pathetic. Seeing a grown adult cry this much when I haven’t even done anything makes me sick. If you don’t stop, I’m going to shove this knife into your eye sockets and rip them out... don’t make me break you before I even start the tests." When I say this, she lifts her head as if trying to stop the tears, with a desperation so sweet.

"Hmmm... much better." I crouch down on the floor, sketching a complex magic circle. I know how goddess reincarnation works. This knowledge came with level 100 billion.

This is a "gift" magic from the Primordial Goddess—a way to save her "Daughters." It’s magic that can be defined as "Motherly Love." And since I’m a goddess too, I received it.

But the way this magic works is a "simple" pattern that each goddess modifies to her own style and rules, as long as she keeps the base model of the magic. Unfortunately, the base model is too perfect.

The complexity of the base model is so extreme that you can only modify the area around it. So you can’t just forcibly block it.

’You can’t forcibly stop reincarnation... the only way is not to kill the goddess, or to completely erase her existence...’ But erasing existence isn’t so simple. The "greater" a being’s weight in existence, the harder it is to erase them.

Elysia is a goddess who represents many things and has many influences. Erasing her soul from existence is impossible for me, and Mama said she can’t do it either.

’Damn... this is going to be really difficult...’ I generate a copy of Ren’s body, which falls to the ground motionless. I quickly make a barrier to trap Ren’s soul in this place.

"Well, Ren, let’s start with something practical." I approach her as she trembles, but with no interest in her fear, I move my hand in a quick strike that decapitates her.

This makes the magic circle on the floor glow, sending her soul into the new body. The body starts moving on the ground, then gets up desperately, coughing.

"Current reincarnation number: 1..." I’m using a replica of the goddesses’ reincarnation magic on her. It’s a simulated replica, so it’s not as strong, but it’s identical to the real magic—just less potent.

"U-Urgh... p-please... n-no..." She crawls away from me until she hits the barrier. She tries to drag herself, unable to move properly, because divine reincarnation magic assumes the goddess reincarnates as a baby—not into a functional adult body, let alone an exact replica of the previous one.

"N-No!!" She screams when I grab her leg. I create another copy of her body, and with a knife, I start stabbing her heart relentlessly, watching life drain away while that sweet red liquid splatters against the floor. With this, I gain an interesting piece of data.

’The reincarnation magic activated even before she was dead...’ Instant death versus slower death—in both cases, the magic activates similarly, but preemptively.

"Hmmm." I look at the other body. I can’t see the movement of the soul. It’s not a linear movement. The soul just "vanishes" and "reappears" in the other body. It seems the magic was designed to save the soul as quickly as possible, to prevent it from being attacked.

"Such insanely functional magic... expected from the Primordial Goddess." I see Ren wake up again. She looks at her two corpses and tries to crawl away. It’s kind of pathetic.

"I-I’m still useful!! I-I still produce p-potions!! P-please s-stop..." She pleads through tears, as if her function were of great importance.

"Your function is over, Ren. Don’t you understand? We don’t need you anymore. There are no scenarios left where your potions have any use. The war is over. I’ve already completely destroyed the elves. Only the dragons and the merfolk remain, and the merfolk have a good relationship with us."

"You’ve become useless, understand? Now that I’m here, your usefulness is over." I fire a lightning bolt imbued with soul damage at her head, blowing it up while creating another copy of her.

But from what I saw, the soul damage was nullified. This fucking magic is too well-made.

’The magic activated before she died... it seems this magic doesn’t depend on apparent death, but on future death...’ I’m sure Elysia knows some way to destroy a divine soul.

I know this because her confidence in this fight is too high for mere combat. That means she knows exactly what to do—and I don’t. That’s very bad.

"..." I return to attempts and tests to see what the outcome will be.

"..."

"..."

"Reincarnation number 540..." I mutter after an enormous number of tests. All I’ve gotten from this is that regardless of the damage, the magic tries to save her soul to force a reincarnation.

The hundreds of corpses on the floor are frustrating. There’s no efficient way to kill a divine soul, since the magic was designed to defend the soul before reincarnating it.

’Maybe the point isn’t to interrupt... [Heaven]... that’s the answer, isn’t it?’ I know Elysia has a personal element called [Heaven]. My sister said she’s been affected by it before. She didn’t fully understand it, but from what she noticed, this element is based on undoing and redoing anything that has the slightest form of connection to other things.

’If that allows you to undo anything and redo it, then her focus wouldn’t be to destroy a soul—it would be to undo the form of the soul and build something else that is no longer a soul...’ Souls are complex things.

If they aren’t "perfect," they can’t inhabit a body. That would explain how she bypasses the reincarnation magic. But that’s something I can’t do. Even if I have affinity with every element, I still have to learn to use them.

And I don’t know how to use the [Heaven] element. I’ve never even seen it. Looks like I’ll have to think of something else.

"There must be something I can do... well, Ren, I’m going to dinner. We’ll continue this tomorrow." I lock Ren back in the shackles while she drools and cries after dying so many times.

As I leave, tentacles emerge from the walls to drain every fluid they can from her. It was kind of frustrating not discovering how to bypass the reincarnation.

All I found out was how to shift the focus of reincarnation to something else. But that’s not very useful. I’ll need more tests.
