Chapter 627: Back to Basics
Chapter 627: Back to Basics
As the few remaining days passed, the castle finally arrived at the planetary system where my daughters and wives live. The castle slowed drastically as I maneuvered it carefully to land on the moon.
"We’re arriving!!" I say to Mama, Azraelith, Evangeline, and Baeh’Wa as the castle touches down on the lunar surface. Using magic, I anchor the castle firmly to the moon’s ground, driving it into place and expanding the bubble into a natural barrier to prevent anything from hitting the castle or the castle lifting off the ground.
"Good work, Pandora," Mama comes close to me while looking at the planet in the "sky." It’s a very large and beautiful planet, even though a huge part of it is blue because the ocean is gigantic and all the continental land has been gathered into a single massive continent.
"Thank you, Mama..." I feel Delphina’s aura "staring" at me. Delphina seems to have noticed we’ve arrived, and her magic feels a little aggressive. She must have sensed Mama’s presence.
"Well, Mama, I ask that you please stay around here, okay? The demons worship you, but you will undoubtedly cause problems," I try to speak politely, but the reality is that Mama will cause chaos and destruction galore if she tries to live on the planet.
After all, demons aren’t very respectful. They are loyal and obedient, but when it comes to respect, they don’t know how to respect properly and let their desires override basic respect. I bet they would say some nonsense to her at some point, and she would kill someone, or a group of someones, or maybe a city block, and perhaps more.
"Of course, Pandora, I will stay here. Don’t worry. There isn’t much for me on that planet anyway. As long as Evangeline is here, I will be satisfied," she says with a nod to me as she returns to Evangeline. The two begin to talk while Baeh’Wa and Azraelith approach.
"And us, Pandora? You have to decide. I would understand if you wanted me to stay here," Azraelith says to me, looking at the planet.
"No, you can come. You are someone I need to plan things with, and you are less... destructive than Mama." Being a goddess gives off an aura linked to one’s station. I, as the goddess of the apocalypse, have an aura that destroys everything that has reached the limit of the time it should exist, and Mama seems to have some aura also focused on destruction. Azraelith, on the other hand, only has her own Mana, which is less destructive.
"And you, Baeh’Wa... you can stay here on the moon, serving Mama." I give her a nod, and with a weak nod of her head, she heads toward Mama.
"Older sister, before you go back to the planet, could you wait one month? I want to... calmly explore the planet a bit... alone." She, understanding what I mean, nods her head.
"Go ahead. I will stay here with our mother and adjust our future plans for the battle with the goddesses. We still need to know how and when it will start." She, with a little more responsibility than in the past, accepts easily.
’What should I do first... it’s been... so long...’ I remember back when I came to save my sister, who was trapped in a seal on the moon.
"The war against the elves made good progress... but that doesn’t matter anymore..." While we were traveling, I observed the actions of Aqua and Lycoris. After what happened to the two of them, Aqua became more cautious.
And the two of them started leading soldiers better and following the military logic presented by Calypso more closely. But in the end, both are mediocre at it. They aren’t bad, but they became overly cautious.
’In any case, I will soon fight against the goddesses. What happens to the mortal races no longer matters.’ I exit the castle’s bubble, and immediately all the Mana in the environment vanishes, consumed by my own.
"I think I’ll take a chunk out." I move instantaneously, entering the planet and appearing high above the elven kingdom. I cross my legs, floating above the kingdom, which is quite beautiful.
They created houses on top of the trees, but they are houses that mix technology and nature itself, using suspended bridges to move around while keeping the kingdom several meters above the ground.
"Calypso, you took too long." They could have finished this war already, but they are dragging it out for too long. I understand they probably wanted resources, but at this point, the costs have started to become far too high.
"..." I snap my fingers, teleporting all demons, my daughters, and any allies a short distance away from the elven kingdom, leaving only the elves here.
"Yes, this seems tedious... a war that ends so easily is no longer a war..." I raise my right hand slightly, leaving only the index finger raised and the palm closed. Above the tip of my finger, a sphere glowing dark purple appears.
"Boom." I release the sphere toward the ground, murmuring [Boom] as a joke while the small sphere begins to fall. Being made of the Doom element, the sphere slowly descends until it touches the ground.
When it touches, it expands into a giant bubble that covers the entire elven forest, then it contracts, pulling and compressing everything inside, leaving a hole where the elven kingdom once was.
With this, through the Mana in the planet, I know that now only 7% of the elves are still alive, which are mainly slave elves and elves in other kingdoms. Besides that, all the rest have just been killed.
’It’s so easy to kill a race now... exactly what I expected... besides that, my Mana has just contaminated the environment... I must use magic more carefully. My Mana is now worse than the miasma of the demon realm...’
"How easy. Now only the dragons remain... well, I’ll see to that later." I open a global broadcast using the system—my system. A red screen appears for every living being on this planet, and they see me floating above what was once the elven kingdom and is now just a hole.
"Hello everyone. Speaking here is the Goddess of the Apocalypse, Pandora. I have just decimated the elven kingdom. As I have just returned, I have decided to take the reins of the situation. I hope you understand." The elves had a single large kingdom, instead of several separate kingdoms like other races. This made their end brief.
"I don’t have much else to say. I think actions speak louder than words, don’t they?" The screen is purposefully tilted to show the elven territory and its surroundings, making clear the location I am at and what happened here.
’Now both humans and elves have a total population below 10% compared to before, leaving only dragons, demons, and mermaids as dominant races.’
"So I suggest that now everyone be careful with what they do." I make the system display a temporary global restriction, which shows something clear: I am now a "true goddess." Before, I was a goddess, but one who was weak, so I wasn’t respected as a goddess.
An example of this is names. No one speaks the name of the goddesses. The name of a goddess is "Sacred," so normally people only say their titles and never their names, to the point where many of the population do not know the names of their divinities.
However, I was still Pandora, the Demon King Pandora, and this showed that people didn’t have the respect they should have for a goddess. Even if a race hates a goddess, they still respect her because she is a goddess.
Now they will be forced to respect me. Not that the way they call me matters, but this will at least prevent them from trying to come against me. There are also some other minimal advantages.
"...Hmmm..." I deactivate the system screen and move, appearing instantly in front of Calypso and the soldiers. But when I do this and they see me, they all bow immediately.
"G-Goddess of the Apocalypse—"
"Tch, tch, tch, Calypso, take my soldiers back to my realm. I’ve already finished off the elves. That doesn’t matter..." I interrupt Calypso without much interest in what she will say, and I look at Aqua and Lycoris, who initially seem excited before they see my gaze.
"...I-Immediately, Goddess of the Apocalypse."
"Continue calling me normally, Calypso." I give her permission. For now, I will have to go around giving permission to those closest to me to call me normally.
"Aqua and Lycoris, we have a lot to talk about." I say, calling the two. With a snap of my fingers, I teleport, moving Aqua, Lycoris, Azazel, and Eclipsya into a temporary subspace.
Grimm, who noticed my magic, does nothing. As for Tsukuyomi, she was unable to react to the "kidnapping" I performed with Eclipsya and looks around confused in all directions.
"..." The four are tense while I think about what to say to them. Considering that the first thing I did was pull them here, they all realize this isn’t for praise.
However, I wasn’t a very present mother. When I was here, they were all children. Now they are adults. And although less than four years have passed in total, it will soon be three years since I left. They have all become adults, and for me, it has been over thirty thousand years.
"So, what do you think is the reason you are the first thing I decided to give my attention to?" I ask, sitting down on a floating throne that appears. Both are panting as if even breathing were a problem.
"M-Mama, you look great," Azazel says with a smile at me, although it’s a tense smile from someone who doesn’t know what to do in front of someone to whom she owes respect.
