Chapter 574: One Chance
Chapter 574: One Chance
"..." I stare at the wall while sitting on the sofa, waiting for the two of them to "finish" whatever it is they’re doing. I don’t even know how many hours it’s been. It’s hard to shake that disturbing image from my mind.
’Maybe it’s a racial thing...’ I’m so uncomfortable having seen that. I think the reason is loyalty, since I’ve never felt anything but a "pure" love for my mother. Seeing her in a state of "sexual vulnerability" is like seeing something I shouldn’t.
"Pandora, we’re done." I hear my mother’s voice, so I get up from the sofa to see them. My mother looks completely normal, but my gaze immediately drops to her groin, as if I’m searching for that monstrous thing hidden there.
’It was obviously magic...’ I stare at Evangeline beside her. Evangeline’s legs are trembling so badly that my mother is the one keeping her upright. Evangeline’s belly is practically that of a pregnant woman, and she reeks of lust.
"Evangeline... you’re leaking." I say, lowering my gaze to between her legs, where she’s left a viscous, whitish trail through the house.
"H-Hahaha P-Pandora... I-I’m great!" She speaks with a trembling voice and a victorious smile.
’Great... my aunt’s a whore...’ I rub my eyes, really not wanting to be here.
"Mom, I think I’m going to give you some time. I’ll go back to the Abyss and leave a passage for you to use to return to the Abyss. However, know that the time in this place will only be comparable to the time in the Abyss for the next two months."
"So you have two months to get out of here with Evangeline and go back to the Abyss."
"That time is more than enough, Pandora." My mother says with a smile, while my gaze goes to her hand, which I am 99.99% sure is squeezing Evangeline’s butt.
"Alright then... hope you enjoy your stay here... if you need anything, just ask any of the inhabitants of this place; they will obey. But I ask that you please try not to break anything..."
"Of course, Pandora. Thank you for the gift. I’ll love spending time with my sister."
"Evangeline, before I leave, could you tell me how things are at my castle?" I ask curiously, trying to ignore Evangeline’s smell and belly.
"Oh... t-things are wonderful!! Y-Your kingdom is well, and your daughters are growing up strong and healthy!"
"T-The academy is also doing well, e-even though the kingdom is at war with elves! But don’t worry! Your daughters are being well taken care of! B-But Zephyra still hates L-Lycoris!" Evangeline says it all with a trembling voice.
"And—"
"That’s enough, Evangeline." I say, stopping her. If my daughters are fine, that’s all that matters, because I know my loved ones are okay. Zephyra can’t be killed if I don’t die, and I haven’t received any transferred damage from her, so she hasn’t been attacked by anyone.
Delphina is a goddess; there’s no one on that planet who could kill her. And Grimm is literally as strong as a goddess; there’s also no one who can kill her on that planet.
And Mikael is still the most powerful human in the world and has Mesumari, meaning it’s also unlikely that anything has happened to him.
"O-Okay..." My mother moves Evangeline to sit her in a chair, and the wet sound her butt makes when it hits the chair is kind of degrading to hear.
’Damn, this is so uncomfortable...’ My tail thumps on the floor in annoyance. I just want to get out of here.
"Mom, I think it’s better for me to leave now..."
"You seem quite uncomfortable, Pandora."
"...Yeah... It’s just... unsettling..."
"Actually, it’s normal, Pandora. I’m your mother. It would be really problematic if you saw me as sexually available, wouldn’t it?"
"I guess so. It’s just not what I expected from you... after all, you’re my mother... and also the Goddess of the Abyss. Besides, if you have this kind of relationship with the Demon Goddess, it means that when—"
"We don’t need to talk about this here, Pandora."
"...Of course, as you wish, Mother. I’m leaving then. There’s not much for me here... Oh, but I have a request, Mother."
"A request?"
"Yes, considering everything I’ve done for you, how about you give me that leftover corpse you so readily hide in your room?"
"..."
"Seems like you found out... okay, take it for yourself, though I don’t know if you’ll be able to use it. After all, I’ve already extracted a lot from it." I discovered this fairly recently, just before entering my universe.
Inside my mother’s room are pieces of some goddess’s corpse. This explains how she helped Azraelith reach level 100 billion. She used a method similar to what I’m using to increase levels passively, but she also used that corpse to accomplish it.
Maybe with what’s left, I can also steal some levels from the body and give them to myself, just like I stole some levels from my sister.
"Thanks, Mother..."
"It’s nothing much. I don’t even know whose it is; I don’t remember anymore. But it’s from some goddess who died and fell into the Abyss." She speaks as I start creating the exit right here, so she can leave my universe and return to the Abyss whenever she wants.
"Don’t forget, Mother. Two months. After that, the time won’t sync anymore!" Since time in the Abyss is a mess, if she doesn’t return in two months, probably thousands of years could pass in the Abyss while only seconds or minutes pass here. That’s why she has to return at the right time.
"I’ll remember that, don’t worry. Now, if you’ll excuse me." She approaches Evangeline, who has already made a white puddle on the floor under the chair where she’s sitting.
"..." I leave my universe, returning to the same spot in the Abyss where I was before, my mother’s throne hall. The barrier is still here, although there’s a second barrier that was made by my mother.
"Hmm... whatever. I must get stronger... Hopefully, I can steal levels from the goddess’s corpse..." I quickly run to the door. I need to go see those pieces as soon as possible to be sure.
"Violet, tell Azraelith to come to my mother’s room." I’m going to try to give Azraelith back the 3 billion levels I stole from her. It’s the fairest thing to do.
After giving the order to Violet, who is with my sister, I step into the darkness to move faster. The castle is immense as always, so it’s much more efficient to move this way.
...
...
...
"Azraelith, Pandora is calling you..." Violet says, yawning. She’s been helping me for a long time, and I’m practically finished creating some useful magic.
"Alright..." I say, heading to where I sense Pandora. Violet follows me, and she looks pretty tired.
"You’re a sword, why are you reacting like this?" I ask, confused.
"I’m out of magic... completely drained, on emergency reserve. I need to sleep. The magic Pandora gives me has practically run out, and I need to return to my sword form to recharge."
’Quite disadvantageous, no doubt...’ I sense Pandora in my mother’s room, so I use a secret passage to get there faster, emerging from the room next to my mother’s.
"What the hell is Pandora doing here?" I open the door, and immediately see hundreds of tiny Pandoras ransacking the room. It’s the same ability she uses in my patience training.
"Pandora, what are you doing?" When I ask, they all stop in their places and slowly turn their little faces to me, before running wildly around the corners again.
"Azraelith, glad you got here fast. I’m looking for something... It’s here in the room, but it’s very well hidden..." One of the Pandoras, whom I judge to be the original, appears before me, while Violet beside me turns into a shapeless purple mist and disappears.
"What are you looking for? Does our mother know..." I ask, ready to throw her out of the room.
"Of course she knows. I would NEVER touch her room without her knowing. Our mother said I could have the pieces of a goddess she keeps here! With that, maybe I can return the levels I stole from you, and even gain some myself!"
"I don’t understand? How could that corpse help?"
"It’s simple, Azraelith. When a being dies, its Mana is released into the environment, you know that. However, there will also be what I call fuel for levels. This fuel can be forcibly taken to increase your level."
"And this fuel merges with the ambient Mana, so corpses have it. But since this is an old corpse, I don’t know if it still retains it."
"This is how our mother gave you levels. She probably used the levels from this corpse. But since she’s used it once, probably very little is left."
"FOUND IT!! FOUND IT! FOUND IT!!" One of the Pandoras shouts, hanging from the chandelier on the ceiling.
"...Great..." Pandora murmurs as the tiny Pandora detaches the chandelier from the ceiling. It falls to the floor, completely cracking it, showing its absurd weight.
"..." I stare at the ceiling, trying to see, but Pandora approaches the chandelier.
"Hahaha, only our mother would turn a goddess’s corpse into a chandelier." Pandora rips the "carcass" off the chandelier, revealing a bony structure inside it.
"It’s a marvel, don’t you think?"
"...It just looks like an ugly chandelier." I murmur, looking at this carcass that doesn’t even really look like it was the body of a goddess.
"You can’t see the residual Mana?" She asks me, confused.
"...Pandora, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but your eyes aren’t exactly the most common. I can only see normal Mana, I can’t see much beyond that. Don’t forget my adaptation is less versatile than yours."
"Oh yes, that’s true. You’ve probably never needed an experience where you had to see Mana this way!... Well, just know that magic is being released by these bones. And if there’s magic, maybe it has what I need! Want to be a guinea pig? There’s an 80% chance you’ll explode!"
"..."
"It’s fine, if it can return all the levels I lost because of you." A 20% chance of success is enough. And if I explode, it doesn’t mean I’ll die.
"Great enthusiasm, sister. Well then, let’s begin!"
