The Cursed Prince

Chapter 281 - Mars Doesn't Like Gossip

Emmelyn didn't say anything else. At this point, there was no use talking about Myreen, bad luck, or dark aura, since they didn't know the truth. For all they knew, it could just be a coincidence.

If they continued talking about it, they would only feel depressed. This was the worst time to be depressed and frustrated, Emmelyn thought. Mars would soon be away and she would be alone.

It would be best to use the remaining time they had together as much as possible. Like the queen said earlier, they need to spend quality time together.

"You are right," Emmelyn finally said. She lay down again and raised her other hand for her husband to massage. "Can you do this one?"

She asked him coyishly with an adorable smile on her face. Of course, the prince couldn't say no to that. He took Emmelyn's hand and massaged it gently.

They didn't say anything, just enjoying each other's presence. After she felt better, then Emmelyn let Mars massage her feet.

"Don't you think my legs are swollen?" Emmelyn asked Mars. She pursed her lips. She knew her legs were swollen and she hated it. She felt unattractive and fat. However, she needed to hear from him that they were slender and she was still attractive.

"Swollen? Which part?" Mars furrowed his brows as he was faithfully massaging her leg. "This one? I don't think so."

Emmelyn pouted, but her eyes looked happy. "You don't see it?"

Mars shrugged and replied, "No."

"Oh..." Emmelyn smiled. "We might need to ask Mr. Vitas to check on your eyesight."

"I don't think we need it," her husband said. "My eyes are good. I can still see clearly even without lights on."

"Oh.. you are right," Emmelyn smiled broadly and rose to hug the man. She was happy because he always knew how to use the right words. "I love you. Please don't ever change."

Mars hugged her back. "I won't."

They hugged for a long time. Right then, they realized that soon Mars would go to Wintermere and would only be back in a few months. That's why the hug felt even more meaningful.

"Hmm.. thank you, I think my legs are fine now," Emmelyn said after she let go of his embrace. "Can we eat now? I think they must already serve dinner now."

"Yes, let's go eat." Mars climbed down the bed and took her hand. Emmelyn stepped down from the bed and walked with him to the dining room.

They were right. On the dining table, they could see hot piping dishes and fruits were already served. Together with a jug of wine and a pot of tea.

Mars and Emmelyn ate dinner heartily while talking about their day. Emmelyn told him about the paintings and everything the queen told her while they spent the afternoon together.

"By the way, Queen Mother told me that the Prestons decided to leave the capital. Now, they are resided in Casbay or something. Did you know this?" Emmelyn asked Mars while eating her food.

The man nodded. "Yeah, they told me. Last week, when I came to visit, Ellena said she no longer wanted to be my friend and didn't want to see me again. So, maybe that's the reason for their moving."

"Am I a bad person if I said I am happy that she is now out of our lives?" Emmelyn asked Mars. "I know she is your friend, but I just can't stand her."

"I understand," her husband replied softly. He let out a sigh and looked sad. He wished Ellena didn't harbor feelings for him. Things would have been different.

It would have been great if Ellena and Emmelyn could be friends since Ellena was actually a nice woman and Emmelyn needed a friend her age.

"I really wanted to like her since she is your childhood friend, I can't. I'm sorry."

"It's okay. I also think it's for the better if she and I never see each other again," the prince said. He thought, the only time he would meet Ellena was after he returned from Wintermere, he would give her heart back.

He already talked to Elmer and the old wizard said he could help Ellena. So, after that last one, Mars would definitely say goodbye to Ellena and went their separate ways.

"Do you know that your mother said Ellena might be Duke Preston's real daughter from a mistress?" Emmelyn suddenly said in a whisper. "She said Lady Preston couldn't bear children, so maybe that's the reason why she let her husband had mistresses and then took the child to claim as her own."

"I know." Mars nodded. However, he didn't look happy because Emmelyn was gossiping.

He continued his words, "Ellena knew it from when she was 17. It broke her heart and it took her several years to accept the reality. In the end, it only made her feel more attached to Lady Preston, because she took her in, even though Ellena was just a mistress' daughter."

"Are you mad at me?" Emmelyn looked at Mars with pursed lips. "You look unhappy."

"I am not mad at you, but I am disappointed because you like to gossip about other women. I hope this wouldn't become a habit." Mars continued eating his meal and made a sign not to continue the conversation.

He knew Emmelyn hated Ellena and was happy to find out information that would bring down Ellena, but he didn't like his wife to turn into one of those court ladies who didn't have anything better to do than gossip.

"Let's just talk about us, about Harlow... about good things in our life," he said after he finished his dinner. "Don't we have enough negativity going on in our life? What do you think?"

Emmelyn initially pursed her lips, but then she had to admit that he was right. So she nodded meekly. "Okay."

Mars was happy to hear her agreement. He rose from his seat and kissed her forehead. "Let's rest in bed. We can drink a bit of wine before sleeping. I want to spend as much time as possible with you."

Emmelyn knew he was right. She rose from her seat and followed him to their chamber. She thanked the cooks through Roshan when she saw the butler outside the door.

"That's what I like about you," Mars commented when they reached their bed. He sat on the bed and pulled her to his lap. "You are kind to the people who are beneath you. I hope you can stay kind like this no matter what happens. Don't lower yourself down to the court ladies level who only know how to gossip about other people."

Emmelyn swallowed. She did love good gossips every now and then. She was a woman after all.

However, it looked like her husband had thought of her like a saint or an angel who didn't have flaws, and was disappointed when she talked badly about Ellena.

She could only sigh. "Okay, I won't."

"I love you. I hope you know that," Mars said. He tugged her chin and kissed her lips affectionately.

"Mmm... I do," Emmelyn closed her eyes and enjoyed the meeting of their lips. Her naughty hands slowly traced his skin and slipped inside his shirt.

Mars chuckled when he realized she was initiating sex. Perhaps, she was thinking about making the most out of their time together before he left.

"You will be away for months.." she complained with her coyish voice. Her lips pursed and she looked so adorable. Her hands slowly unbutton his shirt. "We need to make up for the time you won't be here with me..."

Mars cleared his throat. His temperature rose and he could feel his pants started getting tighten.

"I will be away for around eight weeks..." he whispered. "So... should we do it four times tonight... and another four tomorrow?"

Emmelyn smiled sheepishly and she lowered her head. Then she shyly said, "Yes..."

Mars wanted to laugh when he remembered the same scene months ago. He was about to leave for Southberry for seven days, and he asked Emmelyn to do it seven times... to make up for the lost opportunity.

Now, it was her who actually took the initiative. Oh, how much she had changed!

He loved it!

"Well, then... I can only oblige," Mars said with a grin.

He grabbed her hair lovingly and pulled her closer for another deep kiss. Soon, their bodies were intertwined in bed, naked, as they satisfied each other and made love all through the night.

From the author:

Hello, I am very sorry that I can only publish 1 chapter yesterday and 1 chapter today. There was so much going on in my life and I couldn't spend longer time to write. I will try to write more tomorrow since it's Sunday and I am more free with my time.

BOOK RECOMMENDATION

In the meantime, if you want a recommendation of books to read on NovelFull, I will start giving recommendations here once a week with books I have either personally read on NovelFull, books that I like, or books that my friends write.

You might like them, who knows, right? It will be good to have other books to read while you wait for chapters for this book.

If you want a heartwarming romance story in a modern setting and great characters, added with a bit of mystery, you can find this book called "FRAGMENTS OF TIME" by Anya_Nesh. It's one of the top books in scfi-romance genre on this platform.

It's COMPLETED (so, no need to wait for chapters every day) and it's FREE (yeay.. no need to pay coins) because she chose not to sign the book to NovelFull.

Of course, you can donate to her ko-fi account if you like her story.

I also have another book to recommend. If you like snusnu and A LOT OF SNUSNU, you can also read this book called "CEO'S PAINTED SKIN".

It's quite unique because the setting is in the Philippines. The story is quite good and the author wrote many great bed scenes. Tbh, it's one of my guilty pleasure to read... hehehehe.

She just had a few grammatical errors with the pronouns in the book, since English is not her main language but you can get past that since the story is good and move well.

Just one warning, the way the ML and FL met for the first time might not be some people's cup of tea. She went to his home to steal, he caught her and made a deal not to send her to jail if she slept with him.

The author, Lizabelle is a single mother with special needs child. She is not popular, so, not many people read her books, which is sad because I found them entertaining.

So, if you like to read a book with a lot of good snusnu, and can look past the warning I mentioned above, please read her book and support her to earn some money to support her child.
