The Corruption Dragon God: Lust System

Chapter 627 - Overstepping his bounds

Chapter 627 – Overstepping his bounds

[NT: For those who read Chapter 625 early, Rou’er’s cultivation realm is the Astral Blood Realm, not the Burning Blood Realm. I’ve corrected this.]

Qingyi walked silently along the long trails of the Celestial Fairy Pavilion, unable to get Rou’er out of his mind.

Above all, he was curious about her trip to the Cosmic Void Sect.

He knew that, to some extent, there was a suspicion that something lay within her.

Specializing in soul cultivation, the Cosmic Void Sect had offered its secret realm to awaken her bloodline.

Rou’er had chosen him as her representative, and it would be he who would fight against several other young masters for one of the twenty spots offered for that secret realm.

“System… do you have any idea what this might be?” Qingyi asked, scratching his chin thoughtfully as he waited for an answer.

[The young lady’s bloodline is currently partially sealed. Most likely, the goal is to unseal her bloodline, specifically the part linked to her mother, since she didn’t inherit much of her father’s bloodline.]

“Hm… that shouldn’t put her life at risk, right?”

[No more than keeping the bloodline sealed. I have some tools that can resolve this, but you don’t yet possess the power necessary to use them.]

A weary sigh left Qingyi’s lips, and he simply continued on his way, his eyes drifting toward his own status screen.

He now had eleven G Lust Points. The amount was far from enough to reach the Celestial Ascension Realm, so he still had a lot of work ahead of him.

More than a month and a half remained. With the help of his wives and a few visits to Rou’er, he was certain he could reach the Celestial Ascension Realm without much difficulty.

By the time Qingyi finally reached his dormitory, night had already fallen. To his surprise, Elder Shen was there, waiting in front of his

room.

“Outer disciple Long Qingyi greets Elder Shen…” Qingyi bowed respectfully, clasping his fists. “To what do I owe your visit?”

“Ah… you’ve barely arrived at the sect and you’re already causing chaos… Did you know that Ma Zhenwu not only announced he’s entering closed-door cultivation to reach the Stellar Sovereign Realm, but even named you as the great benefactor of his family? Do you understand how significant that is?”

Elder Shen looked at him with sparkling eyes. He recalled the conversation he’d had with his old friend about whether Qingyi was just another mediocre Ascended or someone who would make the Celestial Heavens tremble.

Apparently, the young man would be the latter.

Qingyi couldn’t help but feel a flicker of surprise at those words. Why would Ma Zhenwu do something like that when they barely knew each other?

“Ah… I know what you’re thinking,” the elder said, as if reading his expression. “It’s probably because of the Guo family. The sect leader’s daughter seems very interested in you, and the Guo family knows that if she insists hard enough for her father to cancel the marriage talks in your favor, he will agree.

Zhenwu must want you to use his name as a way to dissuade the Guo family from targeting you. That’s why I came here.”

Elder Shen took a step forward, grabbing Qingyi’s shoulders without giving him time to respond.

“I spoke with Chen Wei and I know you’re interested in entering the

competition to become Rouxi’s adopted son. You still need eight missions, right? Give it up and focus solely on your cultivation and on succeeding as Rou’er’s representative in the Cosmic Void Sect.”

Qingyi didn’t respond right away. His eyes grew cold.

He respected Elder Shen, but wasn’t the old man overstepping his bounds?

“Elder, may I ask why you believe I should give up?” he asked, his voice steady and cool.

There was still respect in his tone, but it carried the weight of forced courtesy rather than genuine warmth.

“Because the Hall of Law is aware of the assassination attempt against you and has received a formal accusation from the Ma family, yet it has taken no action against Tianhao.”

“You know the sect is in a precarious situation with a shortage of young talent. Soon, Tianhao will be needed for the disputes among inner disciples of the seven great sects of the Far North. He will not be punished, and if you leave the sect, he will certainly try to kill you.” “He will try,” Qingyi replied, shaking his head calmly. “I will cultivate in seclusion until the day I travel with Rou’er to the Cosmic Void Sect. When I return from there in three months, I guarantee you that Tianhao will no longer be a threat to me.”

Elder Shen listened in silence, his fists tightening at his sides. Qingyi was clearly talented, having reached the second stage of the Astral Blood Realm at a remarkable pace, but Tianhao was close to entering the Celestial Core Realm.

Couldn’t the young man see how vast the gap between them was?

What troubled the elder even more was the absence of arrogance in Qingyi’s voice.

There was no boasting in his words, no reckless pride. He spoke as though he were simply stating a natural and well-known fact, as if

surpassing Tianhao in three months were nothing.

Qingyi watched the old man’s expression shift with a quiet smile.

He knew he couldn’t realistically reach Tianhao’s level in such a short time without a massive source of G Lust Points, like Rou’er, but that wasn’t what he needed.

He simply needed to grow strong enough to handle Tianhao’s assassins. After all, Tianhao was far too arrogant to face Qingyi

himself.

In about seven months, when the selection for the Celestial Fairy Pavilion Mistress’s new adopted child began, Qingyi was certain he would already be capable of killing Tianhao with ease.

“Is that all you have to say, Elder? If so, I need to begin cultivating,” Qingyi said, bowing and clasping his fists once more.

The old man could only let out a long, defeated sigh. In the end, there was simply no getting through to that young man.
