Chapter 609 – Gray Claw banner Gang (01)
The pirates of the Gray Claw banner were a relatively new group, but their cruelty and notoriety spread rapidly.
This was due, in particular, to one fact: their leadership consisted mainly of traitorous disciples who had been expelled from the sect after committing some crime.
The sect generally didn’t pay much attention to specific groups, with orders to exterminate pirates applying to any group encountered and being very broad.
But in the case of the Gray Claw Banner, since they were traitors, more direct action was necessary.
Obviously, the criminals knew this and were ready.
They didn’t need to stay there forever.
Even if they repelled the first attack, the sect would simply send someone stronger, and a single core disciple would be enough to wipe them out before they could react.
All they needed to do was hold out long enough, fend off a few attacks, and keep stealing.
Once they had enough to make everyone filthy rich, they could flee and start their lives over, far from all the chaos.
Unfortunately for them, they were bandits.
How much was enough to quell the greed in their hearts?
No one really knew, but it was certainly more than any merchant ship they could rob could ever give them.
When they spotted the Dragon’s Fang spaceship, the bandits
immediately took up combat positions around their fortress, powerful Qi cannons aimed at the approaching vessel.
The first volley of shots hit it squarely, the shields activating just in
time to prevent any damage.
Inside, chaos quickly took hold as the disciples gathered.
“Get ready! I’ll handle the traitor; kill as many of those damned pirates as you can and don’t die.” Zhentian took the lead of the group, his suffocating aura spreading and his fists glowing as if covered in molten gold.
The aura quickly enveloped the entire ship, protecting it as it landed on the pirate fortress.
Before it even touched the ground, the main hatch opened, revealing what surrounded them: five or six thousand warriors, not counting those inside the fortress.
Most were only in the astral body realm, with a few hundred in the astral blood realm.
Their eyes were filled with confidence and murderous intent, ready to kill every last one of those arrogant youths.
They had killed disciples of the Cosmic Dawn Sect before and were now confident.
Unfortunately for them, that confidence lasted only until the divine fist left the dragon’s grasp, punching toward the nearest group of pirates.
A powerful explosion engulfed everything.
The entire asteroid shook, dozens of lives reaped with a single punch, Zhentian’s golden Qi spreading out in a V-shape and wounding hundreds more.
From his back, his lineage projection emerged, descending upon the bandits with terrifying pressure.
‘It’s much stronger than my current bloodline…’ Qingyi thought to himself as he advanced right behind Zhentian.
Of course, it wasn’t stronger on a basic level, but it was of a much
higher grade. As far as he knew, Zhentian’s bloodline was at least one grade lower than Tianhao’s, so there was still a huge mountain for him to climb before reaching that level.
With a bitter smile, Qingyi drew the Heaven-Defying Thunder Sword.
“Die, you bastard!” A bandit at the fourth stage of the Astral Blood Realm lunged toward Qingyi, his sword tearing through the air with a crimson aura.
‘Unorthodox techniques… Qingyi defended himself immediately, gritting his teeth as a powerful tremor spread through his arms.
It wasn’t an exchange of blows where he could gain the upper hand. When he was in the Ancestral Emperor Realm, he could already kill experts of the Astral Body Realm with ease.
But now, with his lineage being one of the lowest ranks of the Celestial Heaven, the fourth stage of the Astral Blood Realm was his limit.
And that was only because the lineage of the Corruption Dragon God and the Primordial Dragon’s body were naturally far more powerful than their own level.
If it were an ordinary lineage and constitution, he would barely be able to stand out within his own stage.
With an irritated growl, Qingyi shoved the bandit away, using the greatest advantage he had over experts of similar power: his eyes.
His pupils seemed to spin, glowing a deep, beautiful purple, as time around him rapidly slowed.
The bandit noticed the change, but he was too focused on slitting Qingyi’s throat to even think about what was happening.
His blade sliced through the air, aimed at the neck of the handsome young man before him, a sadistic smile spreading across his face as he realized Qingyi would try to defend himself directly against his attack.
Unfortunately, the smile lasted only a single second.
Just as the blades were about to touch, the Heaven-Defying Thunder Sword moved at an odd angle, as did Qingyi’s head, which narrowly avoided being decapitated by mere centimeters.
“Shit!” The pirate realized his mistake, his eyes filling with terror as the powerful flaming Qi consumed everything around him.
He didn’t even have time to form a protective barrier. The Heaven-Defying Thunder Sword sank into his chest and pierced
his heart, Qingyi’s lightning Qi swiftly invading his meridians and destroying everything in its path.
After a few moments, the charred body fell to the ground, drawing a sigh of relief from Qingyi.
Not even the soul remained after his lightning Qi had destroyed the
pirate’s body.
With a breath, he decided to focus only on the weakest, at least for now, using his draconic eyes to pierce through their defenses and kill as many of them as possible as quickly as he could.
All around him, dozens of bloody battles had already erupted, the
three inner disciples accompanying them killing dozens with every strike while the outer disciples held their ground as best they could.
‘Hm… this isn’t bad! Qingyi smiled, plunging into the battle and bathing the sky-defying thunder sword in blood, unleashing his most powerful techniques without a shred of mercy.
There were many experts in the astral body realm among the pirates, perfect prey for Qingyi.
